Rush and UFO together was pretty common around that time! Saw them together several times in Chicago. Saw Sabbath and VanHalen together in Chicago in August of 78 3 days before I went into the Marines. Seen a couple of big concerts when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California.

Your awesome James I've played guitar since I was 9 I'm 55 now I can't play anymore I was diagnosed with sclearoderma a auto immune disease that damages muscles . seeing you jam makes me smile I think of when I was playing guitar it was a accomplishment to me and i miss playing but i reflect back on the good times I had keep on jamming never stop you are great don't ever let anyone tell you it's a waste of time music is forever it never dies.

(SWING: That's what sets Ed Van Halen apart from his imitators. Listen to the feel and pulse of his playing on "I'm the one" and you'll immediately understand what I mean.) You can really go places with your talent. Don't let anything foul stop you or slow you down, especially ego, chicks, booze and dope. And- " on the back streets there's a rumbling, smells of anarchy." - great lyrics. but I think MS and Uli Roth are up there with the greats but are also 2 of the most underrated guitarists out there. that's frustrating considering their tremendous influence they have had on lots of rock guitarists.

if you look on the album, Strangers In The Night, a masterpiece of rock and roll, by UFO, you will see that some of it was recorded here, in Chicago at the old Amphitheater...ok...in 79, we lived one mile from the Amphitheater, and we could HEAR them rocking inside...it was beyond EPIC to hear this from our front porches at 11pm on a summers night, and those of you old enough know, that ANYTHING was possible at a concert especially like this one, possible and likely!....BTW, the kid is better than fantastic!
I'm 56 now and I'm so excited when young musicians embrace the music of my teens, there was something in the air in the 70s and we knew were in the midst of musical genius. UFO and the Scorpions with Uli Roth were our way to rebel against corporate rock like Styx and Journey. Another guitarist you would like from that era is Frank Marino. You play the licks better than many I've heard but wanted you to know there was something bigger than just the licks. Those guys wrote great rock music that got us kids through some tough shit. Thank you for keeping that spirit alive,

if you look on the album, Strangers In The Night, a masterpiece of rock and roll, by UFO, you will see that some of it was recorded here, in Chicago at the old Amphitheater...ok...in 79, we lived one mile from the Amphitheater, and we could HEAR them rocking inside...it was beyond EPIC to hear this from our front porches at 11pm on a summers night, and those of you old enough know, that ANYTHING was possible at a concert especially like this one, possible and likely!....BTW, the kid is better than fantastic!
I'm 56 now and I'm so excited when young musicians embrace the music of my teens, there was something in the air in the 70s and we knew were in the midst of musical genius. UFO and the Scorpions with Uli Roth were our way to rebel against corporate rock like Styx and Journey. Another guitarist you would like from that era is Frank Marino. You play the licks better than many I've heard but wanted you to know there was something bigger than just the licks. Those guys wrote great rock music that got us kids through some tough shit. Thank you for keeping that spirit alive,

Strangers in the Night is my fav all time live album !!! IMO the best hard rock live album ever recorded. James does it great justice. This is almost note for note just like Strangers !! YOU ARE FANTASTIC !!! So much better than what passes for talent in most markets !!!
