- In this video I revisit the Drayton Manor Resort for the first time in 2024 to take a first look at the new theming for The Wave, and explore the newest themed area of the resort, Frontier Falls.
We also get the latest updates on the parks newest coaster, an Intamin Family Launch model due to open this summer.

If your gonna fall out of any pirate ship in the world it would be the one at Drayton manor
They have Dik Diks at Yorkshire Wildlife Park and you can get some really good footage of them. They are on the raised walkway next to the Rolloway Monkeys and the Okapi. They have lots of rare and endanged species at Yorkshire Wildlife Park including eight Polar Bears, Six male Polar Bears in the Polar 1 enclosure and 2 female Polar Bears in Polar 2 exhibition next to the Camels. It is best to go round in a clockwise direction as the park is large. They have a young Leopard with his mother and a baby Rhino who the keepers bring out at 11.30 every day for his exercise after that it is up to the animals when they come out, it is usually just the mother, but they also have the male in a separate enclosure. The enclosures are very big and open so you can get some great footage of the animals. They have Victor the Polar Bear as their mascot and he does meet and greets and they also have two ampathetres where they do entertainment, and talks. There is also a full programme of talks for the animals. Entry includes the Dinosaur Park which i think is as good at the one at West Midlands Safari Park, watch out though cos one of them squirts water at you! There is a very large big wheel that costs £5 each to ride but the retail park is free to enter which also has a hotel and two restaurants and a cafe. One of the restaurants has a dino or pirate themed area for you to sit in. If you go i recommend you go round the park first and book your meal for after the park closes, that way you dont lose any time in the park. Its a big park you need sturdy shoes but their are plenty of places where you can get snacks and drinks and a good assortment of cafes in the park area, there are also picnic areas and ice cream places. Plenty of play areas for the kids too including an indoor one. There is also and indoor play area and outdoor play area in the retail area so you dont even have to go in the park if you dont want to. I have a pass and i never get board going there. There are always some animals which are out try to avoid going when its raining as there is not a lot of cover or on a very hot day as the animals are less active on very hot days. The best time to see the animals is at their feeding time this is usually when they do their talks.
Thanks for the info Mary 😊 It’s been a while since I visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the northern parks are quite a long drive for me so I only tend to go once or twice a year when I try to make a small holiday out of it. I am overdue a visit though so hope to get back there soon 👍🏻
I love Drayton Manor, long may it remain an "independent" type of park! Agree about Jormungander though.... on a club visit last year we did an end of day ride takeover on it and the train was struggling to get into the station so much that we all started rowing it in Hawaii 5-0 style! The ride operator was wetting herself laughing😂😂😂😂

If you miss G Force they have a Maurer rides GmbH Skyloop/XT 450 at Parque de Attraciones de Madrid which is similar. Length 450m Ht 151.6m Speed 65.2 mph Duration 1.00 minute G Force 4.0. Elements - Vertical Chain lift hill and 151.6 ft tall sky loop.

So happy shockwave is sitting down now because it got a bit of a head basher plus I felt like I would fly out on the zg roll
They seem to have plenty of music, but nothing original or themed. Instead there seems to be a reliance on current pop hits etc. in the middle of the park. Doesn’t make it easy for someone vlogging the park like myself with the various copy write laws etc. 😟

Nice to have a quieter area at the back of the park for Autistic children. I think a new dinosaur themed play area and a few dinosaur rides would be nice, they could put some push button audio around the dinosaurs to improve that area a bit or maybe add a few dinosaurs with movement.
Some animatronics would be great, and yes, some interactives are what that area needs agreed. It can still retain that more relaxed feel, but just needs a spruce up in some areas to make it feel a bit nicer.

Yes, i remember going into the park on the cable car. I agree about themed flooring, they could have coloured tarmac or they could just put some printed cowboy hats on the floor in the new area and some printed pirate cross and bones on the floor in the pirate area and some printed paw prints to the zoo, it would entertain the kids too.
Yes definitely! It doesn’t have to be anything wild and complex. It would just add so much to the area.

The little exhibition at the Butterley Midland Railway that has Thosmas the Tank Engine models and the different faces that he wore in the series TUGS is called the TUGS EXHIBITION, it was the precurser series to the Thomas the Tank Engine series and the exhibiton has the Tugs, Books, Scripts and the railway and railway models and craines, it is a very interesting exhibition to see.There is some footage of it online.

@@_adventureplanet Just google Tugs exhibition and it comes up, also there is some footage from some vlogers that visited the railway. It would be a good one for you to vlog. Also i live near Yorkshire wildlife park which is an excellent place to vlog the enclosures are open so all the photograpers go there to get some good footagae of the animals, but there is pantos and entertainment for the kids during the holiday for the kids as well and the big Wheel but you have to pay extra for that. There is also a dinosaur area that is very good and is included in the entry price. There is a themed Dino saur restaurant as well and a retail area. Plenty to vlog.
Ahh another great park in the UK. I am going to miss Shockwave as this was my first and only stand up roller coaster credit and it was a unqiue experience which i enjoyed but im looking forward to experiencing the new sit down trains with lap bars on The Wave when it opens surley at somepoint in May. I also cant wait for the new coaster top open hopefully at somepoint in July ready for the big summer holidays and im looking to visit the park at somepoint in them 6 weeks holidays when im off at work!
I’m sure the new coaster will be great for sure. I’ll reserve judgement for The Wave until I’ve had my ride 😅

@@_adventureplanet Yeh im not a fan of the decsion they made of getting rid of the stand up trains as it was the only one left standing in the UK and it was very popular, lets just hope its still a great coaster and they havnt taken away the experience but atleast a younger audiance can now exeriemce this with it having a lower hight restriction just a shame for theme park entusiasts to see a unique coaster for the UK go

Do you remember the Balloon Race rde the Parachute ride and the Ferris Wheel ride. Its a pity about the Ferris Wheel a Wheel overlooking the lake on the Viking side of the park would be great.
I do! Think the Balloon Race and Paratower left at the same time. Balloon Race was near to where Maelstrom is now so at least it was replaced by a much better ride!
I miss 2018 drayton with apocalypse pandemonium gforce

Im not normally a huge fan of flat ride but when i visited in October last year it was raining all day and the park was empty and most of the rides had low ques so i thought i woukd give Mealstrum and Air Race a go and they were very forceful and fun at first but did make me feel a little dizzy and sick after a bit and was glad to get off but im glad i tried them!
Haha, Air Race can certainly do that to you if you’re not used to that type of ride, I usually just do that ride the once. Maelstrom though I could ride for days 😆
@@_adventureplanet It's crazy the power that Mealstrum gives off as soon as it is dipatched is amazing but it did make me feel a little sick after but i did do Air Race first and it was okay for a minute or so but after that i was just getting to dizzy and wanted it to stop haha. Get me on any roller coaster, i am fine but flat ride, nah your okay haha 😂
The new owners seem great, I just wish'd they bought Lightwater and maybe we'd still have The Ultimate. I do not understand why they'd rename Shockwave when Shockwave is a far superior name, and also I don't get why they wouldn't just replace the trains with the new B&M Surf trains. I know it's an Intamin , but really it's a B&M in design.
Drayton have made some great changes since The Looping Group took over, however I’ll reserve judgement on The Wave until I’ve had my ride. I agree though, initially I was hoping for a surf coaster train, but the park seemed adamant in bringing that height restriction down.
Ahhh the Ultimate, to have saved that ride would have saved the park I feel. It’s seen much better days sadly..

I do think drayton need a better marketing team or to let the one they have more freedom with towers, thorpe and lego land having such hype with things. They're letting 94 repeat itself it's sad
We’re in agreement there, I do hope it improves once the Looping Group are settled in. I miss the old TV ads.
They could also do with improving communications to their customers in general. Hope this all comes in the future.

If you go and visit the Midland Heritage Railway at Butterly in Derbyshire they have a model railway indoors and a slightly bigger model railway outdoors they are next to the entrance area before you go on the train and they have a carriage or wooden building that has all the original models for the tug boat series that was the sister series to Thomas the Tank Engine about the tug boat.
That’s sounds amazing! Never watched the Tugboat series but I do enjoy seeing original models from TV shows, it’s fascinating stuff.
