Never been to the park before me and the wife will be there only for one day next month, do you think the guided tour is worth it our is it not needed ?

It depends on the day that you go on. And exactly what you want your day to consist of. Do you want to do the waterpark & rides? Just rides?
Now, I'm sure Holiday World would like me to tell you to book tour. I will say the tours are very nice & inclusive. You will get front of line and have a wonderful person escorting you around.
With that being said, I haven't had a guided tour any of our 24 visits and I've been able to navigate well.
The Voyage Lifthill Tour would be worth it and I'm doing that in July. You would get to park at 8:30 I believe and you walk up Voyage Lifthill and then go to Thunderbird to see the inner workings and get first ride of the day. In my opinion, if you want to get anything, get the Voyage Lifthill Tour. I don't believe that includes park tickets-but not exactly sure.

@@CoastinandTravelin I was initially planning to visit the park on the weekend, which is why I was interested in booking a guided tour. I wanted to make sure I could experience all the rides in the park multiple times, including the water park. However, if I decide to visit on a Tuesday instead, I'm hoping that I can enjoy everything without needing to book a tour.
