10 NEW THINGS IN ARK SURVIVAL ASCENDED, ASA Things you didn't notice!
FINALLY. Thank you. Pillar's are such an easy and cheap way to trap creatures. Some traps are overly complicated, and you just need a dozen stone pillars and you are good! The only dinos that I have come across that can damage stone that I trap with pillars are Theri's and Giga's, and Theri's don't do enough damage that you can't knock them out before they destroy the stone. Stone pillars. Best and cheapest trap in the game. The absolute BEST part of this trap is that you don't need to go back to the base for a specific trap if you are out in the wild and find a nice level dino. Practice.. and you will love this one the best.
Does it have to be metal? can it be just wood? I don't see them attacking the structure at all.

My bad. If you want a quetz go to the river in the snow biome. They are always there
@@TeachersGameToo how can you lure a quetzal in ? The rare flowers wont work. and the noney probably will but they are flying
@@TeachersGameTooI'll play Ark how I want to. I don't like to use flyers to much because it makes the game too easy. Or I can be in creative with a big list of cheat codes next to me....
4 metal gates and 2 doors can trap anything in the game besides a rynio, whether it's four straight in a row or just in a square, and with the new structure snaps, it makes it even easier
And how much more resources are you spending on 4 metal gates versus some pillars
@@jasonho09ok- to be fair, even though I don’t like this method, I get a ton of metal gates and even behemoth gates in supply drops
Everyone seems to forget that the gates are the sure fire way to protect your tame while it's out on the ground from other predators. These traps will do nothing to protect your tame, and may end up costing you greatly.
@@Fizzybubbler23 tell that to 4 different argies i lost while they were taming to packs of direwolves and daedons
I use 4 metal billboards, can even trap a giga with it as long as your on level ground
I haven't played in years, just got Ascended and my first argy tame was done with... 5 stone gates with 2 doors, old school style. Worked just fine, it's easy and quickly to set up.
The old schemes are harder to forget, but often need more materials.
i would def love to see how u would do it with a qutuz lol a wild one. solo. i'm sure it will be a hit. the other one is a bit annoying. but if u can trap it with honey with this trap. i would love to see it. since it's a OP dino.

You don't trap a quetz. You have your buddy carry you with his argy while you shoot tranq darts at it while your buddy chases it.
i totally get that. but if we can use honey and trap it. that would be even easier. probably solo tame. flying around is annoying. an sometimes it can fall in to the water. @@kenshinhimura9387

Couldnt you just use a couple of bear traps and once the tame is stuck just put dino gates around it then put the pillars around it? Im not sure why you are prebuilding a trap if you are then using a bear trap to stop it so you can then finishing building around it
Guess what? They avoid pillars now. Also, 2 dino gates work the same way.. 1 dino gate frame and a bear trap, close him in with 2nd gate frame. Voila.
He's mentioning pillars for the earlier players who don't have all that stuff yet

You just revolutionized my taming abilities. The new pathing and building changes have messed up a lot of my most used traps.
If you do like traps, an easy one is through the use of a Rhynio and trike. Make a 3x3, that is atleast 2 tall.
Tame a trike, kill a male rhynio - find the female and damage it to 10% hp, use pheromone on trike to impregnate.
You dont need to use any of the kibbles or anything as a level 10 rhynio is enough.. so pre-craft a saddle
Level it to 10k health, 1k stam if possible then grab x creature,
fly at 45 degree angle for big carnos like rex etc as they cant hit you -- drop it in the 3x3 cage - works every time except anything that gets a buff against bugs (megatherium is almost a suicide mission, theri can also be tough to transport). Smaller things like wolves etc usually hit you a few times then de-aggro / give up, yuty cant fear roar you either
Remeber you can also use rare flowers to agro herbivores onto you.
The down side is even the dodos will try to kill you, so awareness of all passive herbivores is important. Getting swamped by gallies on foot and unprepared is a bad day.
Off topic but if we place a moo pool on the land does it act as an aquarium ?
The Ark community would pay good money to see you make traps like this for Quetz and Tapajaras. Should have just spawned it in ;p

I just saw the rainbow graphic that lights up the like button. That's a cool feature.
Bear traps and billboards is another decent method
i mean, or you just use 4 metal bilboards and a bear trap like before. still works great and is way cheaper then this
i have been using 4 metal bilboards too and is very usefull bcs is easy and can pick up after knock so i just let the bilboards on the argie
Yep, billboards best for most tames
do wild dinos go through open dino gates? if so why not just have a pillar box with a dino gate opening. they walk in, door gets closed, etc. permanent trap, no need to delete and replace things. +one size fits most

Instead of honey you can eat a rare flower as well. This will aggro any dinosaur to attack you, this could easily go wrong but if you don’t have access too honey it can work also
Did they change the honey thing? I tried tossing honey in the ground and not a single mob was attracted to it 😢
Love the video BUT, why when it came to Quetzal he all of a sudden had to go find one, when he literally spawned in all the others 😆
I play on official on console and the pick up structure thing isnt an option for us can only pick things up for like 5 seconds after placing it

ive been using metal billboards works fine for me even on gigas.
Nice designs, but the pteranodon trap won't work. They always could go through the pillars. We use pteras to fly argy and griff into them. I been using the door traps in ASA it seems to work pretty good, but using pillars on the back side may make the pathing a bit better. Just put doors on the sides so you can open them and make the space to small for the dino to get back out of.

I think its easier with a gate. But in asa you can tame them on foot its easy. AI its not so good. Theres few dinos that i use traps to tame.
I wanna see reusable public traps can we build them with the new system. And no cryos

@TeachersGameToo what about a big spiral or a Wedge with made from fence foundation l saw a video they wound cross a line of fence foundation ? Kinda like the old open wyverns cages they get so far in they trun get caught on the sides... ?
What about a zig zag maze kinda thing
Or the open giga traps with the 6 triangle foundations but made from fence foundations ? If they won't cross them maybe an astride off center in the middle and maybe the on fence foundation outta line makes it work kinda thing?
@@TeachersGameToo wait a min so if rams don't work so then l can make kinda a cattle gate for my base no big gate to open or close just a big ram in and another out and if a tame won't wander up a ramp cause of the path finder to get out if left on wander and wild won't run up it... ?

I can totally see this working with a gate on the front too, then it's reusable
1 foundation 3 double doorways a door and a ramp make the easiest argy trap and you can use your pteranodon to grab agro and lead it into trap. 2 dino gates can trap a rex. i feel like you kind of reinventing the wheel here

Vid up two days before I saw it. Tried it for land dwellers and they just went around so that was quick, WildCard.
You blaming wildcard? If you spawned em in 5 Metres from the trap in creative spawning what you need to get it done then yeah. No need to blame wild card.

Most of these designs only work on low level creatures that will go down easily and not take any real time
Unless you’re playing on a boosted server, these traps are basically useless
In a pinch it’ll work, but if you’re stuck protecting a team for a couple hours these traps are 💩
or use fence foundies and couple walls...
or fence foundies and some railings...
or stone dino gates and doors...
or stone behe gates and doors...
or stone pillars...
or foundies and walls...
or...
like when you use a bear trap to begin with you can just do whatever man, most of these you are better off just using stone dino gates or just run n gun with tranqs
You can't outrun most dinos in this game now. They will catch you and kill you.
@@kenshinhimura9387 Iw died more from fall dm when jumping into deep water then wild dinos... could just be that on offi they are dumber them ever thx to lag but god am i not scared of em. In ASE fighting 2 raptors naked with a wooden spear was a deathwish, now its free hide lol
Pillars are way cheaper than all these suggestions.

The easiest and cheapest way is to have your buddy carry you with his argy while you shoot tranq darts. Dino won't be able to hit you and will just hang out directly beneath you. Make sure to bring stim berries to feed the argy because you're going to hit it with tranq darts once in awhile by accident. I tamed a level 125 rex last night using this method. Was super easy
A lot of people play this solo. Also the bird carry isnt always best as talons can get in the way of shots and if youre aiming at a giga you will miss shots from it's fast erratic movements.
In my experience solo argent and grapples work best with your strategy.
Thats a beta ASE method tbh. There’s a thousand better ways that result in a controlled taming environment instead of just wherever they happen to pass out. Traps are always better for perfect taming.
What about a quetzal trap like a Boat trap land it agro dino up ramp armor quetz with foundation?
Can you pit fall off a clift using you self as bait an take a hit on the edge of the clift or just off of it on deer stand like thing ceiling or something they don't count

why do guys like making female characters? never understood it
It's just a avatar. I occasionally make female characters in grindy games like ark because a female figure is nice to look at. This will shock but I tend to make them look like my wife and give them her name. Since he's a teacher I bet his kids helped him design it with big boobs and butt.

This trick isn't a trick at all. Looks like you are trapping things the way the game intended. Build a cage, place a dino trap, bait them in, then close the cage.
Ark is full of exploits remove the trees the rocks the water and your PC will run fine, and you can see other players Ez use INI Ez Kill in PvP no one can hide from you and you can use meshing and exploits to make dinos breed faster😋😛🤑🤑🤑😝
