Just a couple pointers 1. Soothe Bell helps a lot for getting a certain mons candies as it just boosts friendship. Hard to find but always worth picking up. 2. Lures have been updated to only need 2 different lures to guarantee doubles outside of bosses, which need 1 more. 3. Try to avoid DNA splicers as it cuts the rate of friendship you obtain for the 1 mon you want. Only really useful for endless imo if you get soothe bells.
Thank you for the input: 1. Yeah those help a lot they are just relatively rare so I didn't explain it but I 100% should have! 2. I didnt know about the lure update good to know. 3. I did not know about it cutting the rate of friendship points thats interesting, luckily I only use Splicers in Endless haha
After completed Gen 1 challenge, I went straight to farm candies. Just like your tips. Flamigo with victory dance. Easy sweep till floor 80. And easily get around 10 candies. Thanks for the tips.
I just double checked and there is no -20 friendship points in a classic playthrough so the multiplier is not involved with that. Although you still lose 10 friendship points. Thank you for having me double check!!
I made it 4 minutes before I had to turn it off. Dude. Your background music is so loud. You have a great energy for this kind of content, and you speak clearly. But the music is SO loud
Yeah the editing software I have isn't the best I'm still trying to find what works. Also still figuring out how to make edited content. I promise they will be better leveled in the future, thank you for the comment!
I appreciate this vid. I did skip bits of the video, mostly to the 'best method' and watching the rest from there, and it's nice to have someone clearly lay out the process. No tricks, just play, really. Mostly I say this because the previous couple videos I watched from others weren't bad, but they were basically exploits based on farming a specific legendary via catching it over and over, which just isn't helpful. Knowing it's a simple matter of 'keep going' helps a lot, as is pointing out just not continuing the run so you don't lose friendship points lol. I have a bad habit of finishing a run even when it's obvious I'm about to lose, which isn't generally a problem imo, but if I'm doing it to deliberately farm candies, yea, not doing that should help a little lol.
I’ve been needing something like this thanks. Got an epic shiny spinda with fleur cannon and v create but no hidden ability, so it’s pretty garbage until I can get contrary.
So, looking at the other comments, fusion is a no go. Would heavily suggest having at least one Honey Gather mon on the team, if not multiple, so you can spam rerolls to get more candies. Pachirisu is once again the GOAT here, as it has both Pickup and Honey Gather. Also, looks like we're both in the "can't get a Contrary Snivy" club huh.
I feel that, that's something I didn't think of that honestly. Good idea, I'm not sure how many times you can re roll with the honey gather ability, I should look into that!
just been playin the last week or so, got walled in the 90s, but one thing i noticed, a lot of the gym leaders for some reason have komala, its a normal type, shouldnt the gym leaders have mons that suit their typing? also, doing what i can to get more shinies, currently at B luck with 1 blue shiny and 2 yellow ones
first of all thank you so much second the music is in fact loud but i had no problem listening and english is not even my first lang third of all thank you so much again
does every pokemon have a hidden ability? and also you mentioned that egg odds would be around 1/12, but is that for any type of shiny or is it just less likely for blue and red star shinies?
Nearly every pokemon has a hidden ability, some don't when they have unique abilities only given to them. For the shiny eggs, that's the chance to roll a shiny generally. When you get a shiny it then rolls another off for it's rarity; 60% for normal shiny, 30% for a blue shiny, 10% for a red shiny.
What is the multiplier for full soothe bells? Wouldn’t endless be faster since you could more easily max them out and then focus on rerolling for rare candies?
Each Soothe Bell adds a 50% increase to friendship. Classic gives an extra 100% at the start but if you get all 4 bells you will get a 200% bonus. The reason I favor Classic is because Endless is not easy. Being able to get even to floor 100 with a mon that isn't immediately good for endless is really difficult. Classic is much easier because they give you lots of items to help you throughout sometimes it could be better. Overall, when you are grinding for candy with the majority of Pokemon going through classic is the best way to go.
question: what's that red thing over the ribbon on mon like kekleon or zigzagoon? i know all the other things (passive, reduce cost, HA etc) but never seen that one also, will be a loooooooong time before i can follow this guide considering i don't even have a single tier3 shiny xD
For your question, that is the favorite icon I have some mons favorited for just the cheep red star shiny mons. Also you can still do this strat without having shiny pokemon its just always nice to have max luck and pickup on a classic run!
Great video dude! Just wondering is it only on pc/laptop that you can see the friendship points at the candy symbol? I play on my phone and cant check that sadly
So for hovering its PC only, but if you are on mobile then in the summary you can hold your finger on the candy and that will show you the friendship points!
I did the same run as you on a brand new account (I just started the game) with Sprigatito and am on floor 150+ but I only have 14 candies. I am doing something wrong? Thank you for actually going through a run and showing it. I appreciate that :)
@@Joshawott302 you said Pokémon can have a higher requirement for getting candy than others. So like celebi takes more than pidgey. So does that mean if I reduce the amount of points celebi takes, it also makes it a lower threshold to get candy? I wouldn’t assume so.
They haven't, after asked in a previous comment, they removed the x2 negative hit to friendship. So instead of losing 20 points of friendship in Classic mode it's just 10.
Great video! This would've been useful for me back when I tried farming Wynaut candy for its Sturdy passive... 7:41 I thought the base candy point gain from battles is +2, which gets doubled to +4 in Classic?
God we need new content if this is what people are doing. I've done everything in the game and I am not farming candies, endless farming for shinies was time consuming enough.
No so you just need to get the hidden ability one time on a pokemon. So for example as soon as I get my Contrary Snivy either from egg or catching I'll never need to get it again, sorry for the confusion!

Awesome! Yeah setup mons do really well in this game!!
I rarely even use Victory Dance with my Flamigo. It's fast enough with like 2 Carbos and Moxie does the rest
@@typhlosion7872 yes. For early stages, victory dance is very important until you get vitamins
slight correction.
They removed the friendship penalty for fainting IIRC.
or at least made it significantly better.
So fainting doesn't affect the friendship progress?

How do you check the friendship near the candies on an Android?
On mobile you hold your finger on the candy icon to see the amount of points
Could you do a shiny hunting guide soon?
I can definitely do that in the future, I have some current goals for the channel that will be met first but if I pass those I can make that video!!
