Doing my first rejuvenation run after being in the reborn community since the start. Rejuvenation is the best pokemon game I have ever ahed. The art and music production rivals many serious companies, there are events I never thought possible in a pokemon game.
I haven't played Rejuvenation in years because I struggled on it way too much and dropped it, so hearing about the passwords system being a thing makes me want to go back to it This is a really good and interesting list!!
Just to add, they've also done a massive rebalance of the game, gotten rid of the hardest difficulty and made the old casual mode into a proper story mode more in line with the standard games.
@@ricardocarvalho9283 nah man, some battles are just actual BS. That battle with flying type gym leader for example, the sky field is just busted for his team. Not to mention when a dev found out people changed the field into mountains and then caves to make the fight easy they changed it so that you have to use smack down twice to change the field.
I love Pokemon Rejuvenation, I was streaming this until my computer crapped out and I lost my save. Reborn as well. The music, how smooth the games are, the side quests, the fact you actually have to think when it comes to battling you can't just make 1 team and go. It's so fun. Two of my favorite fan games are Re:member and reminiscence. In Pokemon Reminiscence, the legendary Pokemon are not only human, but play huge roles in what it means to grieve and have empathy. And ironically, it’s not even a dark game. It’s just…mature. Also, it’s a lot like Pokemon Dungeons! And in Pokemon Re:member, it brings up an interesting question. If ultra wormholes can take us through time and space…what if we could visit other franchises? You’ll play as Champion Red and explore these wormholes with two very recognizable characters from Bayblade AND Danganronpa. Later in the game, you’ll see Yugio, Persona 5, Deltarune, Astro Boy, and possibly more that I’m forgetting or couldn’t see. After all, its main story says that depending on your choices, you can change your fate. I highly recommend these games as nuzlocks(?) as well!

Nice Video! 7:45 Thanks Bro😂❤ My Comment under your post was meant as a joke, but yes I like insurgence the most. I agree with your list and understand your argumentation, but I personally dont like pokerogue and Im a big fan of rejuvenation. Everyone has his own taste and everyone like different fangames but I think its important to respect everyones opinion.
Of course I respect everyone's opinion, I just think these ones are the most innovative and impressive while staying accessible and enjoyable to a wide audience
Rejuvenation is the only pokemon game I have replayed over 6 times now. and I have at least 200 hours on each savefile. There is always so much to do, and yes v13 intense mode was an absolute nightmare, I still had a lot of fun with the difficulty of some fights (*cough cough* SAKI GLITCH FIELD MEGA AGGRON AND MEGA METAGROSS*)). It has become a lot easier now with v13.5, but by no means has it become any less enjoyable. I hope more people play this amazing game.
Infinite fusion is a delight. It's always nice how many beautiful, cool and funny how many silly and downright cursed fusions there are (generally anything with Mr. Mime..). The difficulty is decent and the randomizer really does make the game way better than it has any right to be. I did catch the PokeRogue-bug late (after having it mistaken by Emerald PokeRogue which is pretty good as well) and i'm currently working on getting some decent egg-moves on Pokémon i like. (Especially on those that can face the two super-bosses...) I think my most successful strategy so far is to just growl (or similar) at them until their offensive stats are nonexistant. (Which is kinda funny in its own way tbh) And i LOVE Pokémon Rejuvenation. The music, the athmosphere, the characters, the absurdly beautiful spritework and the regional variants. I do have to admit, it's pretty difficult, although the devs are working hard to make things more balanced each update. I remember Valarie and Angie being backbreaking hard, while Crawley being way too easy. Now the two first mentioned got a touch more beatable (I still have nightmares from pre 13.5 Angie) and Crawley got his much needed boost. (That field+weater combination with the bugs is evil) The only gripe i have, is that the characters have the die-but-not-really-syndrome but that might get fixed when the game is getting finished. I can understand them being careful to not murder any Characters that might be needed later down the story.
Rejuvenation is my favorite out of the Rebornlike trio (Reborn, Rejuvenation, Desolation). The main cast, story, and overall challenge are the most enjoyable. Glad it got some love on your list.
Yours will be the best when completed at least to me 😁. I have played so many fangames and yours have everything : a really great story with everything you do being part of the plot, I feel like you're always connected to the main story at any time of the game (the choice of not going on a typical gyms battle game is awesome). I also love the side quests you added to the game, it makes the world "alive" if you get what I mean + those are cool side quest not boring ones. Also no boring routes with a lot of trainers for no reason or just xp, a lot of fangames usually have that. Many characters with great personality and great development this is also rare in fangames and pokemon in general. Now do I need to talk about the regional variant 😂 they are simply amazing be it typing or design it's just awesome I can't even seem to decide on a team and I'm quite the picky eater lol (made a lot of different teams on different runs because I couldn't decide lol, thats the first fangame I replayed that much and it's not even completed). Also the double battle mode add a lot of difficulty but a cool one because every boss have great strategy without just being stupidly over lvled (double battle > solo battle). The new movepools are also great (I can see you and your team worked a lot on that to make them relevant in double battle). And finally I know you are going to bring mega evolution and I love them can't wait to see what you are going to do with the new possible mega (Also please give me mega salamence I need my Ace in your game don't put the mega gemme to far in the game 😂🙏).
Its a triangle of what you prefer. Something offbeat, something extremely challenging or a conventional game. I lean more towards the Uraniums & Insurgences.
Rejuvenation or Reborn would objectively be the best for sure. Empire is my favorite though, and I honestly believe when all 18 episodes are done it will be acknowledged as the best complete fangame experience. It goes above and beyond what you expect. That is, unless you eventually finish Vanguard of course. ;) I'd also be interested on your thoughts about Pokemon Tectonic, which arguably has some of the most interesting balancing I've ever seen in regards to progression and the battles.
I 100% agree with Rejuvenation. A little sad that they removed intense mode as in my opinion it was the best way to play the game (for people that like the grind). Haven’t gotten to 13.5 yet, hopefully it fixes a lot of the problems with 13. Amazing video.
Currently playing Rejuvenation after playing Reborn (Reborn is also 10/10 imo) and it's amazing. I had tons of fun playing Reborn with the difficult battles and elaborate puzzles and heard from the community that Rejuvenation is (arguably) even better. I'm just at the beginning of the game but it's already endless joy and joyful frustration.
I really love Pokemon Reborn and a newer Pokemon Fangame called "Pathways". Sadly Pokemon Fangames isnt even near to be finished but all I can say is that in a few years this game will be cooking. Anyways its a W list and imma start playing Rejuvenation because of you.
I've been thinking about getting into Rejuvenation for a little bit. The last fan game i tried, while challenging and creative, was missing in the story department for me. And the sheer accessibility of PokeRouge is very appealing for travel. Thanks for the recommendations!
I'm curious to see what your thoughts are on Pokemon Xenoverse actually? The cutaway to Xenoverse after saying "just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good" leads me to believe you're not particularly fond of the game? I loved it to bits, even thought it would make the list (though I don't have much problem with the games that did make it) simply because of how polished and well made it was, so I was kind of surprised to see that little cutaway lol
I think it's a very impressive game but somewhat overrated. I do eventually want to make an honest but respectful review of it, so I'll save my opinions for that
Pokémon Clover for me. Full fakemon roster, the edgy humour I grew up with as a 31 year old, and the level of goofiness while still being a fleshed out, entirely new ‘Pokémon’ game is what I want. The roster also has balanced Pokémon stat spreads too and aren’t just reskins. I haven’t played rejuvenation though and will definitely give it a chance.
I think the only thing Infinite Fusion lacks is a cohesive and unique art style in tiles. If they could find someone to make the game a little more pretty and original, it would feel a little more complete.
Pokemon Academy Life Forever is another serious contender in my opinion. Very well-constructed story and characters, different from the norm... but you know, being mostly visual novel (even if the gameplay is there), it's too much effort to read for the masses.
I absolutely ADORE Rejuvenation, but I remember the story gets a little all over the place after the 6th gym. At least for the path that I which is the good route cause I can't bring myself to be evil to the characters I love. A high game I recommend is Pokemon Unbreakable Ties. It does a lot of things Rejuvenation does (aside from branching storylines). But it does something that no other fan game has ever done which is makes your starter actually plot relevant.
Rejuv was the first fangame I played for Pokémon been following it for years (I think since version 6?) and have been trying so hard to find another fan game as fun (excluding reborn of course)
I feel like the best cannot be truly best in all 1 aspect. every game. because people can focus on different aspects of it. so the best must have the overall highest. So many aspects to a game graphics(not just realism i mean artstyle as well and how consistent it is), sound, how buggy it is, how interesting the mechanics are, how good the story is, accessibility, difficulty, customizability. content, replayability.
You didn't explain what Rogue and Rejuvenation are. From the title I can guess that Rogue is a rogue-lite but you said rejuvenation opened your eyes to what Pokemon can be in the hands of someone with a lot of ideas. But you never explained what those ideas are and why those said ideas set the game apart from its contemporaries.
I loved Rejuvenation when I first started playing it until I hit the soul labyrinth, this here made me stop playing and never give it another chance (I tried for 3 days to get past this). One thing I really hate in games is when a mini game that requires a completely different set of gaming skills and it is compulsory to continue playing.
The soul labyrinth is when you are chased by a dusknoir, right? They made it skipable in V13.5 by walking into the yellow butterfly if you go straight from the entrance of the maze since a lot of players had the same problem as you in V13
I could never get infinite fusion to work on a mobile emulator. That's why I never got into it. Several fan games can work on special apps meant to emulate computers, but infinite fusion isn't and will never be compatible
"There are a lot of tech-illiterates in the fanbase". There's something called _learning._ If you don't know how to do something, you learn. I don't know a single pokemon Fangame that requires hacking skills to install and run... But thank you for explaining the community behind the Fusion game. I was wondering how it was working behind the scenes.
Never played Rejuvenation and I'm so glad to hear about it ! My top three would be Emerald rogue (Closest I felt to be challenged as a pokemon master) Tectonic Flux when it will be complete Never understood the reason behind Xenoverse hype, I played it twice to try loving it but the gameplay is not so fun, and the pace is very weird. Balance was the biggest issue with some mons feeling useless and otherd overpowering the whole game.
Loved rejuvenation ! But i have a soft spot for Reborn. This game... Man this game. The charcaters, the music and the story. Dark yet full of hope. I cant really describe the feeling, but oh boy, its ly favorite, and by faaaaaaaar !
Rejuvenation is something I aspire to make for my fangame. Pokémon infinity, vanguard, and the modernization of past mechanics in radical red is what I’m looking. I love to see love for rejuvenation. It’s just soooo good. (Even without passwords)
my top three are Rejuvenation, Realidea System and Vanguard. My two key things in a fan game are visuals/graphics and story which all of these exceed in.
Reborn, I think, is better at being an RPG, but fails at being an actual Pokemon Game, which is where Pokemon Rejuvenation succeeds for me. I especially love the Fakemon in it, that Solrock/Lunatone fusion is literally one of the coolest things ever.

I haven't played Rejuvenation in years because I struggled on it way too much and dropped it, so hearing about the passwords system being a thing makes me want to go back to it
This is a really good and interesting list!!
Yeah check out their wiki, there are a lot of passwords and they make the game infinitely better and more accessible
Just to add, they've also done a massive rebalance of the game, gotten rid of the hardest difficulty and made the old casual mode into a proper story mode more in line with the standard games.
You weak 😂😂
@@ricardocarvalho9283 Imagine talking shit in a youtube comment
@@ricardocarvalho9283 nah man, some battles are just actual BS.
That battle with flying type gym leader for example, the sky field is just busted for his team. Not to mention when a dev found out people changed the field into mountains and then caves to make the fight easy they changed it so that you have to use smack down twice to change the field.
While I can’t see Pokérogue or Rejuvenation being for me because I’m terrible at team building, I do respect the ideas on hand
I love Pokemon Rejuvenation, I was streaming this until my computer crapped out and I lost my save. Reborn as well. The music, how smooth the games are, the side quests, the fact you actually have to think when it comes to battling you can't just make 1 team and go. It's so fun. I really want to go back to it after I've finished Vanguard.
0:41 looks clean, anyone know its name?
Pokemon Armonia.
THANK YOU FOR ADDING REJUV i recently completed the karma files and OH MY GOD ITS SO FRICKING GOOD,I USED SOOOOOOOO MANY MONS WHICH I DIDNT EVEN THINKKK I WOULD BE USING
Rejuv peak :)
Rejuvenation took everything good about Reborn and ditch the somewhat dated aesthetic and overly "edgy" storyline and characterization. The characters are fleshed out, fun, and make the world feels way more interesting
Reborn wasn't overly edgy
@@reggielacey2235it was very edgy, that doesn’t make it bad, but you can’t deny it was edgy af.
It was overly on the nose as well, but I must say I kind of still prefer the region and progression in reborn
reborn is better
Close Combat is the best Pokemon fan project imo
It's really impressive, but I think it's to different too be compared with the rest of them
I am in shock no one talking about Pokémon Reloaded with completely new combat system
Have you tried Pokemon Opalo? That is the best of the ones i have played to me. The spanish community has some incredibly talented people.
That game has so many controversies
@@edgargaebolg9307 Such controversies happen when people can't separate the creator from its creation
@@Kyouma. because the creation itself is riddled with obnoxiously edgy content. I'm not able to speak for myself about a lot of the racist claims, since I'm admittedly ignorant about a lot of them, but the game is just bad, and that's not something I like saying about a Pokemon fangame
I played Pokémon opolo and it was one of the best games, guess I must of missed the edgy content or racism cause I didn’t see anything like that, I probably don’t have a vagina that’s why
Does anyone remember the game where Riolu is your starter pokemon and you fight Zoraork?
@@ayrei1503 Yes, I didnt say that you dont do it and like I said I agree with your list👍🏻
You're right, there are too many videos about "The Best Pokémon Fangame."
(Especially on those that can face the two super-bosses...)
I think my most successful strategy so far is to just growl (or similar) at them until their offensive stats are nonexistant. (Which is kinda funny in its own way tbh)
And i LOVE Pokémon Rejuvenation.
I have played so many fangames and yours have everything :
a really great story with everything you do being part of the plot, I feel like you're always connected to the main story at any time of the game (the choice of not going on a typical gyms battle game is awesome).
And finally I know you are going to bring mega evolution and I love them can't wait to see what you are going to do with the new possible mega
(Also please give me mega salamence I need my Ace in your game don't put the mega gemme to far in the game 😂🙏).
I don't really agree but that doesn't mean i didn't enjoy the video. appreciate your perspective and insight on the games. nice vid.
5:09 I was a bit surprised when I first heard you use that word, but looking back I don't know why you're a literal Pokemon fangame developer.
What word are you referring to? And what you meant by "I don't know why you're a literal pokemon fangame developer"
the enigmatic gentleman is being enigmatic again
Loved the video man some nice to watch before i play
Its a triangle of what you prefer. Something offbeat, something extremely challenging or a conventional game. I lean more towards the Uraniums & Insurgences.
Rejuvenation or Reborn would objectively be the best for sure. Empire is my favorite though, and I honestly believe when all 18 episodes are done it will be acknowledged as the best complete fangame experience. It goes above and beyond what you expect. That is, unless you eventually finish Vanguard of course. ;)
I'd also be interested on your thoughts about Pokemon Tectonic, which arguably has some of the most interesting balancing I've ever seen in regards to progression and the battles.
"The Completed Pokemon Fan game Where Every Battle Is Fun!"
He already made a video about it in fact x)
Pokemon tectonic is criminally unknown. For someone who likes battles, its THE best of all time. Emerald redux is a close second.
Let's be honest, completed Rejuv is gonna wiping the floor even with some AAA games, let alone Empire
I 100% agree with Rejuvenation. A little sad that they removed intense mode as in my opinion it was the best way to play the game (for people that like the grind). Haven’t gotten to 13.5 yet, hopefully it fixes a lot of the problems with 13. Amazing video.
0:31 what is the name of this? the graphics look nice
Pokemon vanguard (i think)
7:24 okay but what is this one?? This looks cool
Fire red extended
ooh rejuv mentioned, very nice nomination. Would be cool to see the next generation experience something like reborn
Emerald Rogue, Crystal Clear and Crystal Kaizo+ are my contenders for best fangames
Personally i'm a Insurgence fanboy but now i feel like i MUST try rejuvenation
This may sound biased, but my favorite game to play through was Pokemon Vanguard. Super excited for the final chapter!
Yippie, rejuvenation recognizement! I love that game so much.
Bro if rejuvenation gets gen 9 mons a terra it’s over. That game is so fun
I've been thinking about getting into Rejuvenation for a little bit. The last fan game i tried, while challenging and creative, was missing in the story department for me.
And the sheer accessibility of PokeRouge is very appealing for travel.
Thanks for the recommendations!
0:02 what game is this?
Pokemon vanguard
The one he made lol
I'm curious to see what your thoughts are on Pokemon Xenoverse actually? The cutaway to Xenoverse after saying "just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good" leads me to believe you're not particularly fond of the game?
I loved it to bits, even thought it would make the list (though I don't have much problem with the games that did make it) simply because of how polished and well made it was, so I was kind of surprised to see that little cutaway lol
I think it's a very impressive game but somewhat overrated. I do eventually want to make an honest but respectful review of it, so I'll save my opinions for that
@@ayrei1503 Thats understandable! Very excited to hear your thoughts on the game! 💌
@@ayrei1503 i honestly saw xenoverse as the perfect pokemon game only problem is that it can get a little bit wild but it is your opinion
Very well-constructed story and characters, different from the norm... but you know, being mostly visual novel (even if the gameplay is there), it's too much effort to read for the masses.
the old one got discontinued right? I heard a new group took over.
@@ikram1572 A new team took over the project a little over a year ago.
But it does something that no other fan game has ever done which is makes your starter actually plot relevant.
hey, sorry to ask but could you tell me from what games is the footage at 0:06 and at 0:28 please ?
That's his game. Pokemon vanguard. It's still in development but there's quite a bit of content already out
Wow what are the three four games in the beginning of the video? And also the one with the “Hotel District” thing
The "Hotel District" one is called Ashen Frost. You play as a detective. I played it about a month ago and really enjoyed it.
you should check it out if you like noir novel and interactive world
5:27 the nostalgia i got when this song started play, i cant remember where its from tho 😭😭😭😭😭
Rejuv was the first fangame I played for Pokémon been following it for years (I think since version 6?) and have been trying so hard to find another fan game as fun (excluding reborn of course)
Im coming back here to dearly thank you for introducing me to Rejuvenation, ive never had so much fun playing a video game in quite some time
Are you the Vanguard guy? I love your game the 3.0 update was so worth the wait
This is very true, calling something "the best" is a very subjective way of saying "this is my favorite/I think this is the best"
3:27 What is that 3d pokemon game?
Pokemon: let's go pikachu/let's go eevee on the nintendo switch
Let's go pikachu
No love for Unbound?
I love unbound
Unbound is a rom hack, not a fan game
Unbound is the best Pokemon game I've played tbh
@@OnionKnightRises aren't they the same thing ?
You didn't explain what Rogue and Rejuvenation are. From the title I can guess that Rogue is a rogue-lite but you said rejuvenation opened your eyes to what Pokemon can be in the hands of someone with a lot of ideas. But you never explained what those ideas are and why those said ideas set the game apart from its contemporaries.
Can I play Rejuvenation on MacBook?
whats the fan game that appears in the 0:07-0:10 mark?
armonia
You really, i mean REALLY need to test Pokemon Team Rocket Edition...
I only want to say something...
3 regions and 1 for cook, that's all
Wholeheartedly agree with the Rejuvination pick, the best ever. Its the Reborn and Insurgence middle ground
what fangame is the one that appears at 0:22and the one at 0:02 too
I believe you are talking about Pokemon Armonia. Its still in development. I just finished it. Its great
I loved Rejuvenation when I first started playing it until I hit the soul labyrinth, this here made me stop playing and never give it another chance (I tried for 3 days to get past this).
@@Fang65-w2g That is awesome news, will definitely be giving it another shot now, thanks for the information
What are those game titles shown in the footage in the beginning?
I could never get infinite fusion to work on a mobile emulator. That's why I never got into it. Several fan games can work on special apps meant to emulate computers, but infinite fusion isn't and will never be compatible
Idk if I'd give any FireRed with a coat of paint credit as top 3 fangame even if that coat of paint has 150k pokemon.
My top three would be
Emerald rogue (Closest I felt to be challenged as a pokemon master)
Tectonic
Flux when it will be complete
Never understood the reason behind Xenoverse hype, I played it twice to try loving it but the gameplay is not so fun, and the pace is very weird.
0:20 does anyone know what this one is? and the other featured romhacks? (other than the ones shown in the list)
Pokemon Armonia.

Are you saying pokemon pokerogue for #2? If not please correct me
For me Opalo, Reborn, Xenoverse, Rejuvenation, Floral Tempus EX, Uranium takes the dub
Even Pokemon Adventures Red Chapter
What's the game you're showing at 0:40? I don't think I've ever seen it before.
Pokemon Odyssey is my most favorite rom hack and the best to be made out yet. Rejuvenation is so amazing too.
What are the names of some of the other fangame footage throughout? Some of them have really neat graphics
Armonia, vanguard, fire red extended, Ashen Frost
@@ayrei1503 Thanks!
Definitely gotta be Rejuvenation for me. First fangame I ever discovered but I'd never actually played it myself until the most recent update
Counter argument: Pokemon Brick Bronze
my top three are Rejuvenation, Realidea System and Vanguard. My two key things in a fan game are visuals/graphics and story which all of these exceed in.
What was the one in the intro of the vídeo?
im sorry you said take an objective look, but then not really 😂
but still a nice video 👌
Not really sure what you mean, if I was going off of my opinions I would've just said Reborn Rejuvenation and Desolation
Can i play rejuv in gba mobile or do i need a different pc emulator needed?
Do you know the difference between a fan game and a rom hack?
Reborn, I think, is better at being an RPG, but fails at being an actual Pokemon Game, which is where Pokemon Rejuvenation succeeds for me. I especially love the Fakemon in it, that Solrock/Lunatone fusion is literally one of the coolest things ever.
The quality of games been really good like every other month smthg is out a be called "the best pokemon fan game"
Which makes me want to ask, what is the worst pokemon fan games
@@hoangnguyen0721 probably some game from 15 years ago thst no one remembers. At least snakewood went so fucking insane thst jt guaranteed thst game would be remembered
Okay, I actually have an answer, kind of.
It's called pokemon Trimaster. It apprently steals a bunch of content from other fangames, runs horribly, and just looks bad all around.
I don't call fangames bad, or say super negative things about them unless they do something immoral like steal content from other fangame developers for example
Finally someone recommends fangames who has taste
Does pokemon infinite fusion have an android gba version?
There is an android guide just google it
Pokerogue is one my top and the only Pokemon fangame i enjoy playing everyday, if it was roam instead of random waves i would have love it even more
I would suggest playing Pokemon empire. It is quite mature and in my opinion the best fangame narrative wise
Amazing Video. How do I play Rejuvenation on my Iphone?
My criteria for the best Pokémon fan game is it has to have meaningfull choices. That's why my all time favorites are Pokémon pathways, desolation and rejuvenation.
Fangame should be separate with engine created one and romhack one, they don't offer the same experience since the engine one are more free on design.
With Emerald Decomps and CFRU, I believe ROMhacks can rival the freedom of fangames if the developer is good enough
@@ayrei1503 don't know these two, but I found that crown, stranded, unbound, sors, voyager, crystal clear, liquid crystal, fire red extended, recharged emerald, recharged yellow, pokemblem, pokemon rogue (not Pokerogue the website but pokemon rogue the romhack)and some others are really good.
@@ayrei1503 but in term of graphics, it's undeniable that engine one are more permissive than romhack, even if I agree than nothing is impossible, u can't fit a 512x512 sprite into a 64x64 without loosing some quality.
