I don’t like the Zion narrative. There’s no narrative on Derrick Rose letting his team down. Kawhi doesn’t let his team down. Injures are a part of the game and the players have no control if they get injured or not.
Zion is in year five and only got into consistent playing shape halfway through the season. He been riding his rookie year and only now makes the playoffs five years in? D Rose didn't have weight problems and lack of desire to play. Everything the NBA hoped Zion would be as a #1 pick, Anthony Edwards literally is.
The d rose one, everyone gave up on him so there was nothing to criticize since there's no relying on him. Kawhi, people criticized all the time for being out "load managing" and then still not being healthy come playoffs. Zion is in the same boat there with embiid where they cannot be relied on as a cornerstone for a championship squad, since they will never be healthy when it matters most. And part of it was their own fault for not coming into the season in-shape. Zion was playing himself into shape every year rather than coming in shape and playing himself into playoff form. When embiid finally stopped eating burgers all the time and got himself into shape, he became an mvp candidate and played more games per season than before when he was out of shape. So a big reason zion gets criticized is for his weight, which he is definitely in control of

I agree, but mostly just for that play in game vs the Lakers. Idk how you could watch his performance there and then say he let his team down by suffering an injury.

I’ve fully come to realize as a 6ers fan Embiid’s body can’t handle 82 games and the playoffs. It’s just sad because his injuries come from his play style and aggressiveness. The only way for Philly to make a run is if he gets healthier as the playoffs go on.

Definitely agree with you overall they definitely would have been a top 6 seed like last year but Draymond green getting suspended Klay Thompson just not being the same player like he was in the past years and Andrew Wiggins being the most washed 20 plus year old in NBA history . Outside of Stephen Curry and Johnathan kuminga and the rest of the young guys this team has been a rollercoaster overall.🏀💯

Regarding the Golden State angle, I think if they choose to re-sign Klay, it'll be on a huge pay cut since he's not "that guy" anymore. I don't know what they'd do with Draymond since they've tolerated his detrimental antics for so long and they already re-signed him to that extension. I guess they could try to trade some of their young role players since Stephen Curry desperately needs competent help and Klay and Draymond just can't provide that anymore.

Lebron played 71 games this season and Zion played 70. Last season he played 55 and Davis played 56 season before that davis play a whopping 40 games . You would never get up here and claim that Lebron and Anthony Davis cannot be trusted to be in the laker's rotation consistently. Particularly Anthony davis when hes improved greatly on not being injured why can't the same be said about Zion? Additionally, Zion has also been a pro for 4 years even less when you account for his games played. You can’t control injuries, why are we writing him off when Embiids career practically started at 23?
Draymond green just not being reliable overall and he put the team in hard spot with him not channeling his emotions particularly in November and December and he basically cost them this season and the dynasty to end overall.🏀💯

Warriors run isn't over bro Curry still all-nba level, dray still has a huge impact, young guys are looking really good. Honestly our team is great if we're firing on all cylinders, only problems are Wiggs with his personal problems and weak mentality, Klay with a ridiculous contract who gets too many minutes, and the coaching staff who just confuse me like wtf make some adjustments. If we ship Wiggs or he gets better, get Klay back with reduced contract and role, switch up coaching, and play the young guys more we can be competitive around Steph for a few more years, and then when he's on the decline we can rely on the young guys. Two timelines WORKS that's not the issue.

All these people being ignorant ab Swish’s Zion take smh…yes he played 70 games, Swish praised Zion for that, and he has great numbers WHEN he plays, but no matter how good he is, so far Zion has not been healthy enough to be play in the playoffs. He’s not saying he didn’t let the team down due to his statistical numbers cuz he was putting in work against the Lakers, but with his history….yeah he can’t be trusted. In 3/5 seasons he’s played 0, 29, and 24 games. We as the fans want to see this man play and succeed, and he’s the best player on the Pelicans and they need him to compete in the West, so yes he’s letting them and us down. Fact of the matter, is regardless of talent, he can _not_ be relied on.

The difference is Zion has a really awful track record when it comes to health…in 3/5 seasons he’s played 24 games, 0, and 29 games. Jimmy has never played less than 40 games throughout his entire career and has consistently been able to at _least_ be healthy enough to play in the first round every single year of his career except one. That’s excluding his ECF and finals runs. And he’s 34 years old compared to Zions 23….
Jimmy is proven, he just doesn’t have enough help and get hurts trying to carry the team. Zion on the other hand in his 1st playoff goes crazy but gets hurts. That’s being unreliable. Jimmy isnt unreliable and he at least finish the games he gets hurt in smh

The problem with you Zion munchers is, y’all are short sighted. WHAT DOES THE HISTORY SHOW YOU? Zion has a history of health problems and when you look at his 5 year career that is consistent. 5 years and look how many total games he played since getting drafted… to give you perspective, Ant Edwards already passed him in games played and he was drafted a few years later. Ant has more playoff appearances and games played in the playoffs too.
As far as Jimmy, HE IS PROVEN! He shows up and performs in the post season and big games and is available to play in those games more times than not. You can’t compare the 2.
