It's not really about the weapon, the reason why you're steamrolling all bosses and skipping most of the content and experience is because you used too many scadu fragments. Yes you're supposed to use some on normal playthrough, but not every single one possible, otherwise you'll just ruin bosses.
He's lvl 10 here, you're supposed to be lvl 10 or higher in shadow keep. And there's no such thing as overlevelling scadutree blessings. It's really just the weapon, imagine if he had used weapons like sword of darkness or velvet sword, he'd have dealt below average damage.
