That's still dumb, though. I found that note, built the items, jumped on the ledge that's clearly there for that purpose. And it was still agony. The metal-leg guys just keep spamming fire out of reach and you just have to jump up and down for the s until they decide to not spam fire. Then you gotta hope they walked close enough that the pot hits. It's just not good. It feels like an early-videogame version of "what if qte, but with game mechanics". Back when devs didn't quite understand how to fit qte events into what the game can actually do and massively failing. Fighting the guys on foot is almost fun. The frames on the stomps are very forgiving. I don't wanna play ring around the rosie for 5 minutes until the enemy does what he's supposed to do, before I get a reward that's REALLY not worth it, though.
@@dowfreak7 Not making excuses, just wanted to point out how your not just supposed to random try shit until you find out its fire pots that do it. I just run around until i bait a jumping melee from them once and then spam bombs till they die before they can even shoot fire one more time.
I personally am of the opinion that any enemy that REQUIRES multiple consumables to kill is bad design- I just don't like not being able to kill an enemy using skills/combat. On the flipside I found the "puzzle" ones that are asleep but can be awoken with a pot to be pretty fun- a consumable to solve a puzzle is fine by me. I just hate the walking ones that need a bunch of pots.
@@JB-xl2jc I mean the walking ones are really also just a puzzle. Like sure you have to avoid their attacks, but the main part is doing the puzzle. It isn't really different using consumables for one puzzle and using consumables for another.
I don't really understand why people were saying Messmer was unfair. I found him a well-telegraphed and generous boss to dodge. You have to be defensive longer than players might expect, but he really is not so bad. If the damage is getting you, equip the Flamedrake +3 talisman and the max Crimson Tear talisman. None of his attacks are one shots with the former and any damage is recovered with a single swig with the latter. The snake phase can be hard to read at times, but not nearly the hardest in the game.
Messmer and Midra are the peak of the DLC, I'd say. Getting to Midra is a bit boring, but the fight is top Souls gameplay. They are flashy but not to the point where it creates too much visual clutter, nothing felt particularly unfair or confusing, pretty much everything is telegraphed and there's not too much feeling like the camera is the real boss fight. I wish more of the fights were this high quality. Some of them like Dancing Lion were also good, but From really needs to figure out something with the camera, because it just doesn't work for bigger enemies who are trying to be up in your face
Ah yes Lobos asking for a vague hint to deal with wickerman and chat straight up tells him how XD. Especially when there's an in-game note which tells you how, which chat could have easily directed him towards.
I noticed, that the gesture "O mother..." is found near a shed snake skin, which lobos missed. This and the fact that it opens a secret passage to marikas home town makes me think that this passage is meant for messmer maybe. Like she had this beautiful peaceful place, guarded by tree sentinels hidden for her son or something like that. Could all be very wrong and vaati probably already made 10 videos about this lmao But I like the speculating.
Btw, if anyone gets stuck, metyr just MELTS with hemmorage. The DLC has been a mixed bag for Arcane builds, but that fight was ridiculously easy with strong bleed stats.
Every memory I have of this game is slowly replaced with replacement memories where I didn’t flail around like a madman and instead was cool and calm like Lobos
I'm cringing at some of these Steam reviews. "No middle ground" in the difficulty lmao what? Get one Scadutree Blessing and fight the same boss again. If one is not enough, get a second one, try again. How could a ground be any more middle than that? Some people, I swear... Metacritic reviews are better. Way fewer of these really dumb critiques.
The issue with that is that some people say they see no real difference with the fragments applied. Just what I read, I dont even have the base game yet. Feel free to explain that to me though, if you want.
Yeah honestly I haven't felt that the difficulty of the dlc is any harder than the late game areas of the base game. Mesmer was probably the first boss that felt legitimately difficult to beat imo. And yes the scadutree blessings definitely help my damage in the dlc is currently around 2100 in the base game it's around 1000 and I think it's boosting my damage negation by like 25%
You can't just pick up a skibidi fragment if you don't know where they are. You have to explore, which means leaving where you are now and going somewhere else. Also there's like 50 something fragments across the map as loot and enemy drops, good luck trying to keep track of where you already found them once you hit 15+. Another annoying aspect is that you can't turn it off, so if you missed something in an earlier area, you're going to roll it just the same as if you were overleveled in the basegame. It's not a great system IMO, and it's another thing that will make repeat playthoughs feel chorelike.
59:00 is exactly right. You'd think they'd make it more subtle, but it's really rather obvious that all the important names just start with G, R and M. And it certainly makes the lore, although a bit more straight-forward than usual, all the more confusing, when you're constantly having to wonder if the name you remember is the actual name.
George has even stated this was unintentional, he doesn't need to put his name in there subtly, his full name is right on the game lmao. Also it really isn't difficult to remember names, people just don't put any effort into it.
So Leeda is no longer worried about the guy who just assisted you in bringing down Messmer because he's mad and emotions will lead to his death apparently? But Aunsbach needs to die because he USED to be a good soldier but is now just an old man? Leeda mad af herself tbh.
Leda dont care about the Hornsent because she believes that now that he avenged his people by killing Messmer,he's gonna chill. Ansbach is targeted because she thinks now that he know that Miquella used Mohg for his own good, he'll be mad ( Andbach is an ex Bloodknight of Mohg). But yeah,Leda is zealot.
Using furnace pots and hitting them in the face from somewhere up high on the armored wicker men work best but u have to take out a few of the un armored ones first for materials for their visages and a bunch of the fire dogs and exploding guys that are on fire lol the cook books under the great bridge north
the sentence has nothing to do with it; the gesture is obviously a reference to marika, and the entrance is guarded by a marika statue. it's pretty obvious that that's something you should try.
How in the world did you know to use the O Mother gesture to open that path to the east of shadow keep? I wandered around for hours trying to scale cliffs before finally looking it up. I tried the Have Mercy gesture first due to the note on the floor.
I think the idea is that you are "overheating the giants." I agree that it should be ice or water, though. They do a similar thing in Stranger of Paradise. You cast Fire spell on Bombs to force them to explode.
The furnace golems are peak gameplay. When people ask why they should play Elden Ring, I talk for hours about the riveting combat against furnace golems. Best part about the DLC.
I fought Messimer once and tbh, I expected harder. Didn't beat him but got him close to halfway. I just left because I never meant to fight him, I thought I was still exploring, but then CUTSCENE.
7:23:19 No boss in the dlc is as hard as Malenia. And even when you go back to Malenia AFTER the dlc, she isn't as hard as she was pre dlc. From software jebaited you all by saying that there was going to be a boss as hard as Malenia was. I guess Myazaki over estimated himself this time 🤭
1:37:57 Context for the mixed review, most of the negative reviews come from people playing in simplified chinese. Most of their reason for the negative review is "fuck the little blue bear" aka easy anti cheat. Either there's a bug affecting them or they're mad that they cant cheat anymore. Source : Asmongold clips
There's a note telling you that they are weak to fire pots if thrown into the furnace, they also are super weak to furnace pots each does like 40k damage so 3 is enough to kill them. But yeah that's how you kill them throw hefty fire pots in the furnace and only fire pots work. Lobos kept missing the fire pot and it was hitting the face, if it drops inside the furnace it will stagger.
@@alenezi989a3 oh well. Itd be more satisfying if you could get them to self delete. Missed opportunity on fromsofts part but overall looks well done. I'm considering buying soon
@@bayouboigaming absolutely. there's the statue of marika by a tree, the minor erdtree incantation which states it is a secret incantation of Marika. The hornsent slaughtered her Shaman Village and put them into the clay pots. Marika has a deep rooted hatred for the hornsent. Also explains Mohg and Morgotts curse, being born with horns.
These games are wasted on Zoomers, when they just look up guides or ask streamers where everything is. Why can't they just play the games themselves and figure it out.
The issue I don't like about the blessing stuff is you can't tell what it's doing. Not once have I gotten a few and noticed I was getting for hit less damage or doing more damage. With seeds and you got to see your flask upgrade and feel the effects of it. I just got my 11th scadutree and I still get 2 shot on ng+ by each boss. Obviously idk how I'd fare against earlier bosses so maybe it's a big difference. I left one dragon alive and have gone back with double blessings and still get steam rolled. I love the dlc so far. I love how it looks small then you realize there are 4 layers to each location. There are multiple places that I got to a different way than lobos got to and in different order. I'm playing on low setting on a 10 year old pc that barely runs and I'm loving it. The game is still beautiful and feels fine to me. I'm not a graphics elitist though. Played cyberpunk on a ps4 when it released and loved that.
@ghostmacekillah821 yeah, I realize what it's doing. My issue and what I think is everyone else's and maybe I'm wrong but it doesn't feel like it's making a difference. When people play rpgs one of the best parts is that feeling of getting stronger imo.
why? the NPC summon gives the bosses more HP so it is crazy to see chunks fly off, plus remember as long as you beat the boss the manner in which its done DOES NOT MATTER. To many Skibidi Blessings
@@AeonWest lol of course it doesn't matter, no one cares if you use summons... That wasn't the point of this guy's comment.... It's fine if you use summons, but don't complain the boss was too easy afterwards.
@@gildias2556 messmer needs more health, one person claims that since the NPC summon is in the room messemer doesnt scale. The easy part was the npc was chunking his health and yea npcs make it easier but thats too easy. Needs more cowbell and health
Bosses have too much health already, wanting him to have even more is just... not good yeah. I don't want to spend 10+ minutes rolling 15 times in a row with good timing, attack once, and repeat on every boss in a game, so if it was even longer, no thanks
the summon gives the boss more health but still chunks were still falling off, and the 2nd phase is a boring "creature" boss unlike the human style fight in the 1st phase. plus its just a first impression it could change with the many other play throughs.
@@AeonWest you maybe right when it comes to normal way of summoning aka before the boss, but bosses like messmer and bayle both dont get boost simply because the summon takes place during the fight and not before. Source: just went and tested it.
Just finished the DLC and well it had the same issue elden ring had which is vast open areas with nothing but you and torrent ridding on thru. And then idk if other people struggle with but like I’d but in to jump only for my character not to jump get hit by a move from an enemy and then proceed to do the stored button prompt. And I really disliked that.
Lobos using summons made his first playthrough kinda lame. Talking from a selfish stand point. I enjoy beating souls games without summons and then seeing how the best soul players fight the bosses for the first time
"This is the boss most people were complaining about" when messmer is the most well designed and cool fight. People are so dumb, the final boss is AWFUL and not fun to fight in the slightest.
Im mixed on the dlc I will still play it dozens of time's skipping dragons and hands. Yet the lian boss is just a slideshow for me unlike anything I've ever seen both my playthroughs so far. I absolutely love twin moon and Mesmer. Perple lady thing is cool . Nothing else is really worth mentioning other then faze 1 of the final boss is really awsome.
06:31:00 that was so funny, the way it dropped down and then threw itself off the cliff.
In this episode, we got:
What if Erdtree avatar was a real boss?
What if Tree Sentinel was a real boss?
What if Rom, Vacuous Spider was a real boss?
Gaius sucks, his charge is actual nonsense
What if tree sentinel was one of the worst fights*
@@nopeinserts5476 When far, use torrent, when close dodge through it. Its really not that hard.
Ah yes Lobos asking for a vague hint to deal with wickerman and chat straight up tells him how XD. Especially when there's an in-game note which tells you how, which chat could have easily directed him towards.
I was hoping they would guide him to that note
I noticed, that the gesture "O mother..." is found near a shed snake skin, which lobos missed. This and the fact that it opens a secret passage to marikas home town makes me think that this passage is meant for messmer maybe. Like she had this beautiful peaceful place, guarded by tree sentinels hidden for her son or something like that. Could all be very wrong and vaati probably already made 10 videos about this lmao
But I like the speculating.
His Great Rune; Shattered, but whole
The Crucible Feather Talisman helped me a lot with dodging Gaius' trampling attack.
6:30:43 ‘clip that’ moment
Btw, if anyone gets stuck, metyr just MELTS with hemmorage. The DLC has been a mixed bag for Arcane builds, but that fight was ridiculously easy with strong bleed stats.
The lore implications of actually discovering the mother of the two fingers…
Every memory I have of this game is slowly replaced with replacement memories where I didn’t flail around like a madman and instead was cool and calm like Lobos
The true endboss of the DLC will just be a Quizmaster, where you need to remember the correct names
The NES DuckTales game reference made my day.
“Bro is effin’ Scrooge McDucking me…” 😂
I’m just glad you are finally posting something on RUclips for people to watch instead of your harvester playthru
@@BrycePlays8815 harvester was peak, that's true
hearing ANSBACH al the time is really jarring, since i live in Ansbach, Germany :D like, wtf? is this some obscure reference?
Ah yes, the rolling hills of Ireland, land of a thousand fingers.
This blew my mind ngl
George has even stated this was unintentional, he doesn't need to put his name in there subtly, his full name is right on the game lmao. Also it really isn't difficult to remember names, people just don't put any effort into it.
The desktop of streamers are always nuts.
"I'm no longer being magically compelled to like you guys so I'm going to kill you all"
at 9:27:24 when hornsent screamed all I could think of was eternal ring baby yell
That jump scare got me good
Using furnace pots and hitting them in the face from somewhere up high on the armored wicker men work best but u have to take out a few of the un armored ones first for materials for their visages and a bunch of the fire dogs and exploding guys that are on fire lol the cook books under the great bridge north
Whats the cut at 45:24 about?
i have to say ... u have the weirdest progression ever :D
How the hell did he guess the hinterland puzzle on that one ridiculous sentence? The man is becoming Miyazaki
Insane!
the sentence has nothing to do with it; the gesture is obviously a reference to marika, and the entrance is guarded by a marika statue. it's pretty obvious that that's something you should try.
I haven't been able to find the exact point, in this run, but, ultimately, Torrent becomes the main 'bad', in the DLC.
How in the world did you know to use the O Mother gesture to open that path to the east of shadow keep? I wandered around for hours trying to scale cliffs before finally looking it up. I tried the Have Mercy gesture first due to the note on the floor.
34 seconds in and I'm already cackling, never change @lobosjr
aww I was hoping you wouldn’t summon for messmer
I think the idea is that you are "overheating the giants." I agree that it should be ice or water, though.
They do a similar thing in Stranger of Paradise. You cast Fire spell on Bombs to force them to explode.
On a very special episode of LobosJr. Lobos goes to a museum and kills a bunch of people reading books.
4:24:00 when you see a boss door and know what's coming
3:02:03 lmao if he only knew how much normal people would need those
I couldn't beat the Hippo boss in the shadow keep without Bloodhounds step. Made him easy.
For future runs, the hippo hates fire. Each flame of frenzy did over 4k damage at scadutree blessing 10.
The furnace golems are peak gameplay. When people ask why they should play Elden Ring, I talk for hours about the riveting combat against furnace golems. Best part about the DLC.

Best weird moment: 6:30:40
@8:15 oh the frustration
1:05:00 Are you suggesting sarcophagi migrate?
They could be carried there?
I fought Messimer once and tbh, I expected harder. Didn't beat him but got him close to halfway. I just left because I never meant to fight him, I thought I was still exploring, but then CUTSCENE.
epic god special nothing like him gamer ova here
How is anyone supposed to make the connection with the dark armour and the Bonny Gaol?
Awesome
7:23:19 No boss in the dlc is as hard as Malenia.
And even when you go back to Malenia AFTER the dlc, she isn't as hard as she was pre dlc.
From software jebaited you all by saying that there was going to be a boss as hard as Malenia was.
I guess Myazaki over estimated himself this time 🤭
9:05:33
Gonna have to bite the bullet and just make a new character for the dlc because this last boss on ng+ is far too much to deal with.
2:18:52 lmao
Did anyone try to use the spirit spring to redirect the fire back on the wicker man and kill himself?
There's a note telling you that they are weak to fire pots if thrown into the furnace, they also are super weak to furnace pots each does like 40k damage so 3 is enough to kill them. But yeah that's how you kill them throw hefty fire pots in the furnace and only fire pots work. Lobos kept missing the fire pot and it was hitting the face, if it drops inside the furnace it will stagger.
@@alenezi989a3 oh well. Itd be more satisfying if you could get them to self delete. Missed opportunity on fromsofts part but overall looks well done. I'm considering buying soon
@alenezi989a3 Biggest thing was he didn't have furnace pot recipe when tried at start of video. Hefty pots don't do nearly as much.
@Taran858 they do 20k damage, that should be enough of a clue
Grandma sounds like Auntie Ethel from BG3
I wonder if Melina came from the Shaman Village
Also prettiest area in entire gane
It’s highly implied that Marika came from there
@@bayouboigaming absolutely. there's the statue of marika by a tree, the minor erdtree incantation which states it is a secret incantation of Marika. The hornsent slaughtered her Shaman Village and put them into the clay pots. Marika has a deep rooted hatred for the hornsent. Also explains Mohg and Morgotts curse, being born with horns.
The damage reward for parrying Messmer isn’t nearly enough to make it worth
Those giant furnace golems are legitimately the worst thing about the DLC. Thanks for the streams!
I'd say the amount of health the last boss has trumps anything. Just disheartening. Gonna be stuck here for weeks
@@KvltKvnt Rot + bleed + mimic and learning how to dodge some of the main combos really helped bag the win for me, but it really is the hardest boss.
These games are wasted on Zoomers, when they just look up guides or ask streamers where everything is. Why can't they just play the games themselves and figure it out.
5:36 worst boss ever?
Check your ar and negation before and after
@ghostmacekillah821 yeah, I realize what it's doing. My issue and what I think is everyone else's and maybe I'm wrong but it doesn't feel like it's making a difference.
When people play rpgs one of the best parts is that feeling of getting stronger imo.
@@thermalrain_yt9725 gotcha, guess I had a different experience cause I definitely noticed a difference
Dies so fast but you summoned an npc lol of course he will
why? the NPC summon gives the bosses more HP so it is crazy to see chunks fly off, plus remember as long as you beat the boss the manner in which its done DOES NOT MATTER.

Biggest L take about Messmer's phase 2 being snoozer
@@artiscool6873 not an L, just an opinion. it looks cool for sure, I just don't enjoy fighting big snek
Yeah the big pot wickermen are a big fumble in an otherwise excellent DLC
Bosses have too much health already, wanting him to have even more is just... not good yeah. I don't want to spend 10+ minutes rolling 15 times in a row with good timing, attack once, and repeat on every boss in a game, so if it was even longer, no thanks
I like your PFP (:
Get more scedutree blessing.
Even Messmer felt fine to me, healthwise.
need more skibidi blessings and more powwa!
Get good?
Bro is complaining the boss is easy while having a summon
the summon gives the boss more health but still chunks were still falling off, and the 2nd phase is a boring "creature" boss unlike the human style fight in the 1st phase. plus its just a first impression it could change with the many other play throughs.
@@AeonWestFYI npc summons dont boost boss stats only player summons.
@@TarnishedEldenKing it boosts health my friend
Nothing wrong with collecting golden seeds and tears it’s fun stop running thru the game fast as you can over and over again and it won’t be a problem
Im sure faze 2 is cool as well i just cant see most of the fight with my mear 20 20 vision
Never use an apostrophe to pluralize.
