Teacher Emma, I’ve had watched a lot of videos of English teachers on RUclips and to this moment I consider you’re the best! One of the main things I like the most about your channel is that when you are teaching, you speak slowly and clearly, and it helps us to understand almost everything you say!
A lot of professional teacher here in English vid are excellent to deliver thier ideas about English grammar. Hope you will give us more ideas in English grammar to make ourself good , confident and to communicate other people in good ways used by what we got to u guys .
HI Emma, I'm from India. Usually i can't understand native speakers as their pronunciation of English is different from Indian's. It amuses me that i can able to understand you. You are doing a wonderful job, it helps me a lot please continue this .And never leave this. You are helping students from all over the world. THANK YOU SO MUCH...
Good job! Just wanted to share a concept of the "plural" the professor who was teaching the Syntax course in my grad school shared with us. He explained to us that plural is not "more than one". Rather it is "any number but one." For example, "Jane has three cats" OR "There are no cats in here," which means zero cats.
It may differ depending on location, but here in Canada, a countable noun with a quantity of zero is necessarily singular. So, to use your example of cats, at a particular location, you would say "There is no cat here". As awkward as it may sound, even when you are refering to three cats, you would say "none of the cats is here". In the schools that I attended, to say "none" is to say "not one". In the same way that you would say " not one of the cats is here", you would say "none of the cats is here"....I hope that is somewhat helpful😊
Emma, thanks for your effort. I really appreciate your effort which inspires the English learners. How nice to help English learners to fix their mistakes...
Thank you very much for this channel!! I'm not an English native speaker; my mother's tongue is German. Unfortunately I didn't grow up bilingual, but I used English daily, since I was a child, not just learning it in school, because of my English-speaking relatives. Today I'm 39 and I'm still learning more English vocabulary, as much as possible (matter of time). I'm teaching my daughter (6) English as well, to grow up (nearly) bilingual. I don't know why I'm still so fascinated by English, and why I prefer English than other languages, even German! I was always very good in school, in all language subjects. But English is and will always be my absolute favorite language! I just want to thank you, Madam, for this great idea..👍 of this channel! It's very, very helpful! Best regards from Vienna in Austria in Europe 🙋🏼♀️💐
