In all honestly it looked way cooler not locking on. The dodging instead of parrying made it look almost cinematic. And when you think about it. It looks ridiculous parrying an arm swipe the size of a bus
While you're on here, look at the old Rancor fight in the Force Unleashed games and see how far we've come, I always remember being let dowm by how lame and easy it was, glad this was a tough fight
Tbf, Force Unleashed was going for a much more a straight power fantasy than this one was. You’re playing with a kit broken enough to justify fighting multiple rancors at once in midgame in that one. By the second, teasing a fight with a rancor is treated as a joke to set up how powerful the real boss is going to be.
I switched to Story mode, to defeat him for the quest, and go back and do it again later on a harder setting when I wanted to, but apparently it only lets you do it once?!? Why? Everything else re-spawns...
Thats My absolute truth you are a Esportler in this Game. I tried 1 Hour 40 min at Jedi Knight and then switched to Story Mode 😂 and this is Not Even Easy
@@GKNOWBODIES in the Phi quo caverns you get there by going to that shack in the Foothills drop into the cellar. There’s also 3 lightsaber wielding raiders down there
@@GKNOWBODIES there are also 3 magnaguards that will join the fight when you fight the 3 raiders it’s a pretty tough fight but that’s where you get the hack magnaguards upgrade from so if you search that you can find where to go
Honestly the biggest Problem is, we all want to kill him in early Game. Just Like oggdo bogdo in Fallen Order. With more Health and especially more Stims, he should be much easier 😅 And dont forget the other Stances!
You’re 100% right, just like the tree sentinel in Elden ring as well. It’s the game telling you “hey you should probably comeback when you’re better equipped”
a detail, it is not necessary that you show the difficulty because the game already does it when you are playing, in the lower left corner the points indicate the difficulty. And GG 😅 you are amazing

Is there another rancor down there? After I defeated the rancor I went down there again later in the game and I heard another roar like it was another one down there
I call BS. That first grab was on point. I've seen Grabs from the rancor while my animation was well away from his hand, by a few feet even. Nice cheating. Also there are several times in this video you should have taken damage being smashed by the Rancor elbow.
It's not a skill issue. Even your character moves faster than whats allowed in my base game. My Cal is intentionally slow, yours is extremely responsive.
That grab at 0:24 was ON POINT. He had you dead to rights, and I would've been killed. Your character was in his hand hitbox. Zero chance your not cheating.

Fun fact: when he enter in the second phase (3/4 of its life) u can go near his feet and hit him without get hit

I tried a couple of strats, not locking on was the best way to go for me but it did cost me missing a couple strikes.

Not locking on is what I did. You really need the mobility in this boss fight.

the rancor resists blasters and slightly resists lightsabers, so it's certainly "realistic" combat in the game
There are lightsaber resistant hides and other materials in Starwars. The lizards in the last game were lightsaber resistant in lore as well.
It does its called the purity perk haha. NG+ only

If you have enough guard you just get staggered, you lose no health
He was even in front of it and take no damage that seems very off
