Botswana's voice didn't bother me, it was her answer.. She basically just went up there and praised herself for being so beautiful, talented, generous and intelligent (not my words, hers!) Didn't prop up her country or culture in any way the way others at least tried to! I didn't get what her fundamental purpose was! Just very vague and lots of self-gratification! A bit Narcissistic imo but I guess that's what's celebrated in these types of shows! Anyways, that was my first and last time watching pageant shows!

England's answer at top 8 was so 'pageantry' with all the sway of 'generalised' words here and there taking a queue from Czech's answer- mensuration.
Czech answered what was ASKED for. So no surprise there who advanced to top 4.
But the final pitch of Czech Republic was just flawless, full of emotions, authenticity, non-pageatry, and straight from the heart like ''even if I win MW or not"..she took us through a journey within just those 60 secs of her pitch 👏👏👏 I was actually surprised looking back how strong she was..she ain't just a pretty face.

Julia Morley used to mention the year whenever she announced the winner like "Miss World 2014 is (name of country)" but in the last two editions she hasn't mentioned the year. She just said "Miss World is (name of country)". Till now many pageant fans do not know whether Karolina (Poland) was Miss World 2021 or 2022. The same goes with Czech Republic this year. We don't know whether she is Miss World 2023 or 2024.

As a Motswana, being objective, I can see why CR won. Her response was engaging at a personal level, but also addressed the question at hand.
I feel what Lesego was doing in the final response is exactly what Uganda did in the top 8 😂
She should have picked one point and stuck to it. Her many points were too many cooks spoiling the broth, and made her answer unnecessarily long. Instead of concise and punchy.
However people saying her response was narcissistic, I find it hilarious. The question required her to pitch herself, so I don’t understand why selling her best qualities to the judges was a problem. That’s what we all do in job interviews. And this in a way was a job interview. I can see a touch of putting women down for talking themselves up. This has been such a thing in history that women are meant to be humble and not promote themselves. I don’t think the content in response was problematic at all. I also didn’t mind her voice. 😂
I believe she lost points from having too many ideas that were (which made her seem unsure of the goal of her response), and not engaging the audience and judges at a personal level.

Shout out to Hector. He was such a gracious host. I am surprised Brazil didn't go further. She was lovely and had the MW aura. Czech Republic is striking and delightful, but I agree very similar to the previous winner. Yes it was representative of every region, but the format became a bit monotonous. India did however pull out all the stops to make it entertaining and grand. I hope we don't have to wait another 2 years+ for the next addition of Miss World.

I watched the show and I thought the results were FAIR. I thought it was between Botswana and the Czech Republic but Botswana's tune of voice came across as insincere. Out of the final 4 answers, the most authentic were the Czech Republic and Lebanon.
India did a great job being the Host Country.
I feel the reason why Miss World is not considered as big as Miss Universe is due to lack of Marketing and Accessibility to watch the show.
Julia Morley has always celebrated various beauties from around the World, therefore it's unfair and ridiculous for people to criticize the winner. So what if 2 Blonds won back-to-back. Julia is very involved in selecting the Finalist and she is open about it. This eliminates the risk of the wrong countries being announced like what happened in the most recent Miss Universe.

Its because you picked based on sash factor and not based on the actual work by the women. Do you realise no sash factor country was in the top 4? The same criteria you used for MU you cant use for MW. I think Missosology got 3 out of the top 4. This year was not hard to predict actually. Most people have atleast 6 out of the top 8, Girl do you know how famous Priyanka is? I think maybe its because you are not on the east coast.

If you watch Luis Portellas vlogs on attending Miss World in person, he says that the answers of T&T and Lebanon had more impact in the Top 8 Q&A, having more emotions on stage where he felt that those girls would be placed. India and Brazil may have had an objectively better answer in conveying the ideas, but maybe the judges and the audience may have not felt the same way, I guess... Also Botswana should have been 100% the winner

Over the past decades, European victories in beauty contests have not been frequent and even qualifying for the top 5 or even top 15 has been a rarity. Especially Miss Universe consists only of representatives from Americas and Asia (over the last 30 years, only 1 from Europe, 1 from Australia and a maximum of 3 from Africa). And of course the same countries every year, i.e. the USA, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, Thailand, India, South Africa, Venezuela, Colombia, Jamaica, Brazil, etc. and every year the same black hair, the same dark eyes and the same stories. And here, oh my God, what a tragedy, because a European girl won the Miss World crown even she was blonde and beautiful as an angel, and a year earlier a European also won, even more beautiful and also blonde. And on top of all this, both of them have perfect bodies, beautiful faces and have a something cleaver to say, with good education and perfect knowledge of foreign languages, especially English and super kind and super nice and good volunteer workers. But from Europe, what a political incorrect, because only Asians or Latinas can win the crown of beauty.

Remember the final four or five NEVER solely depends on the final night of the competition. The judges would have already have an idea of who their final four are so in many cases performance on that night doesn't really affect their decision. This what they want us to think. Remember the organization have one month to really interact and choose the final four which actually is a better way of selecting the winner. They would have gotten the chance to really know the candidates, inside out so to speak. If their favorite winner does well on the final night, the better. How many times have we seen the worst performer in interview or night of coronation ending-up winning. The answer is simple, one night of performance should never determine a winner especially when its just posing, having a well designed dress, walks wells, does turns and facial gesture well, or answering questions under pressure well. The major sash factor countries have always done well in these areas because they have the financial resources, passion etc where their candidates are well prepared, but sometimes lacks that real genuine authenticity. The Philippines among others are a good example of this. I have been in interviews where the better candidate is the worst at the interview.

You may not realize it, but looking at it from a different angle the Miss World Organization agrees with you. That's the reason why they (sports and talent winners) are included in a top 40 and not a top 20! The top 40 as you said is too much and as you can clearly see half of that number will never progress, so it more about being different in terms of a production effect rather than a real part of the main competition.

I don't think going second at the QnA round was necessarily at advantage since the second woman will have to come up with an original or different answer from the first. Especially since many of the questions were very standard topics. Further Miss World goes less for well rehearsed or executed answers versus a delegate who speaks from her heart and is presenting as authentic. Over prepared candidates who come to compete fear worse than contestants who are just themselves and in the moment. Maybe that's why your analysis is off and women who do well in Miss Universe don't do as well in Miss World and vice versa. It's important to understand the approach of each system and what they want from their winners.

The fact that so many pegeant predictions were off the mark speaks volumes about this competition. Also, this new format is a huge flop for me. All it does is make us wonder who would have won had they not had this restrictive format. And this is not good for the eventual winner.

Because miss world was mix with an Indian show, the shark tank, also most of the investors and the judges are indians. Just saying, did you notice how Megan was a bit awkwardly ask if those shark tank's judges can still ask questions, when the final questions of why they should be miss world is already done.

Like I said, Miss World is unpredictable....not exactly in the best way. Perhaps, this is why in my country MW isn't as regarded as highly as MU or MI. At least in those two pageants, there's this sense of "If you work hard, you will be rewarded". Not so much in MW.

Yeah I just didn’t get Lebanon and why she was in the top anything that required a speech. I felt her responses lacked purpose.
I know they don’t speak English as much in her part of the world, and that may be a disadvantage for many non English speaking countries contestants. Having said that though, she is a actually a good English speaker.
But in my opinion, her answers were just blah. It was more about evoking emotions in relation to geo politics from her part of the world- and yes what is happening in her part of the world is terrible and totally unacceptable. And I do follow those issues closely as a citizen of the world who has some Lebanese acquaintances where I live and are among some of the people who understand me better.
However I believe the content of her responses was more emotionally charged rather than clearly addressing the task/question at hand. Even at the head to head challenge, I still don’t get what her purpose was. Yes, let’s speak up for women in war zones. But how are we doing that exactly. By speaking at the miss world pageant? Is that it? Like, I was at a loss as to why she was in the top 5 there.
As terrible as it sounds, I feel her votes were more about sympathy, rather than merit.

Miss world is not a beauty pageant. I don’t watch it.
And so to all narrow minded people, my phrase is what you call an expression. In case you are so fanatical about miss world or any other con beauty contests, people do watch a movie review before going to watch the main film. That’s what I’m doing watching her review. That is the problem with today’s Beauty pageants. It’s lacking of logic and science. It’s based mostly on emotional liking to a candidate and lacking of unbiased and objective judgment. It is promoting strong emotional view rather than unbiased mental measurement of things. That’s why fans fight over social media.
