The Miss Universe Nigeria pageant has concluded with former Miss South Africa 2024 Top 10 contestant, Chidimma Adetshina being crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.
This year, 25 contestants, including newcomer Chidimma Adetshina, will represent different states across Nigeria. Last year’s winner, Mitchel Ihezue from Imo State, went on to represent Nigeria at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador. The 2024 winner will similarly represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico this November, while the runner-up will participate in the Miss Supranational pageant.
The 25 women in the running for the title of Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 are:
    Miss Abia - Chioma Nkumeh
    Miss Abuja - Lucille Oputa
Miss Akwa Ibom - Happiness Enetak
    Miss Anambra - Paula Ezendu
    Miss Bayelsa - Fortune Kurobo
    Miss Benue - Joy Omanibe
Miss Cross River - Emanuella Igbodor
    Miss Delta - Sarah Olotu
Miss Ebonyi - Mother Theresa Orji
    Miss Edo - Edeifo Aikhuele
    Miss Ekiti - Esther Gabriel
    Miss Enugu - Uchechi Uchenna
    Miss Imo - Queeneth Igbokwe
    Miss Kaduna - Sophia Nelson
    Miss Kogi - Zuleihat Oyarazi
    Miss Kwara - Ufa Dania
    Miss Lagos - Favour John
    Miss Niger - Priscilla Umehea
    Miss Ogun - Deborah Anosike
    Miss Ondo - Peace Ayegbidun
    Miss Osun - Ifunanya Nledo
    Miss Oyo - Elizabeth Salawu
    Miss Plateau - Chioma Ogbonna
    Miss Rivers - Nyekachi Douglas
    Miss Taraba - Chidimma Adetshina
    Final Results:
Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 - Taraba: Chidimma Adetshina
Miss Supranational 2024 - Anambra: Paula Ezendu
Unfortunately former Miss World Nigeria and Miss World 2019 Top 5 placer, Nyekachi Douglas (Rivers) onnly managed to get as far as the Top 5.

She still won't win b/c she's already won one of the titles b/4 & done her time on the world stage. She was top 5 in the Miss World Pageant, but Miss Jamaica won the title that year & she went viral for being so happy for Miss Jamaica. There's a reason fresh faces have been given the crown every year. Miss Rivers need to sign up with one of the top modelling agencies in Paris or New York or send her video to Victoria's Secret.

What's with you and the comment everywhere? The previous Miss Universe Nigeria Mitchell Ihezue, did she not win MBGN 2017 and went on to Miss World and was top model? The only reason Rovers isn't winning is bc she called out the organizers during her reign as MBGN. If it was fair and square, she has better chances than this winner. However, Organizers choose who they want to work with.
So leave Miss Rovers out of your comments.@@berrytots8805

She should be allowed to compete at MU 2025 and let the winner 2025 MU Nigeria winner compete in 2026, more time to prepare and made this fair to Miss Rivers. The crown was hers until they just fast tracked and invited Chichi into the pageant.

The crown was a disgrace, they disrespected the contestants. She was not harassed initially. SAns were speaking nicely at first until she was arrogant, then that angered SAns because they knew. Also considering the illegal inmigrants in the country, and that a SAn with her child suffered due to the theft- so it was like a hi-Chi didn’t care about the plight of that poor woman and her child. She was very arrogant in this whole thing.

It seems anything Nigerian irks you very much. She neither has to deal with hate, threats, xenophobic behaviours, nor is vying for Miss Universe South Africa crown. This should be a happy moment for all. You couldn't and still can't stand her; yet Nigeria loves & embraced her. South Africans said she's not qualified to represent you; she got her opportunity in Nigeria. All Chidinma really wanted was a chance at Miss Universe, which she got. Anything beyond this is unadulterated hatred, envy & jealousy. Persisting on this mission has raised her profile and exposed who you truly are on a global stage.

The reason why 3 out of the top 10 were paid votes is the reason why Silverbird's been hosting MBGN since '87 with amateur quality, and it is the same reason why they've yet to crown Nyekachi(Miss Rivers). It's CORRUPTION.
I'm Nigerian so trust me when I say the country is highly corrupt. They'd rather pocket their sponsor's funds than invest in their show and queens. And because Nyekachi called it out a couple of years ago, they refused to crown QUALITY. Shame!

Sponsorship is not always in monetary form, it could be products, it could barter for using any of their other businesses like the cinema. Nigeria has some of the best musicians in Africa but why wouldn’t they pay even a couple of not so well-known artists to come and perform here? The organisers have their highest viewership this year through them using Chichi for their ambush marketing, they could have upped the production value at least & paid lighting guys, designers, etc to make dresses with a similar theme for all of them at least. Also, I’m not suprised Chichi won. She’s been well-groomed by Miss SA organisation’s boot camp & The Crown Chasers series. She’ll do well internationally too. All the best to her. 🇿🇦

The way crowning of the winner went, It wouldn't come as a surprise that the organisers may have striked a deal with Chidimma, that they will hand her the crown, and, an opportunity to represent the country In Mexico along side this current Miss South Africa. In return the organiser get to keep part of the prize. It is questionable that they broadcast a pre recorded interview only of Chidimma acknowledging being in the top 5 before officially announcing the remaining contestants, This indicated she knew all along. She is running on adraline, her PR team is failing her. I wish she took a break and give it a try next year. In my view I do not forsee Miss Universe international crowning Nigeria this year and risk being associated with a winner who is marred by controversy, to represent the organisation globally, knowing that the national organiser cheated the other contestants to crowned Chidimma just to spite South Africa? The organisers seemed to have breach a code of ethics. About Chidimma, she is innocent for now, but what if it turned out that at some point she found out the truth about her mother and conceal it? She may be nailed for accessory to crime. Post interview Chidimma was asked to open up about the Miss South Africa controversy, it was heartbreaking to see her having a meltdown Iive on a tv show. Unfortunately this won't be the last time she hear of that question. In regard to her participation in the contest, if indeed the girls were selfless, they voluntarily gave up such a huge opportunity to hand Chidimma the crown out of sympathy, they have not comprehend what they have done yet. It is a matter of time when it all sinks in, some may have woke up this morning with mixed feelings and sooner or later they will start speaking up especially those who have nothing to lose.

Nigeria is not a pageant country. We do not here about beauty pageants and that is the reason for the low turnout . Big brother Nigeria, and Nigeria Idol Sunday live get millions of viewers . Pageant is not really something Nigerians and Ghanians care about, and that’s why brands and sponsors don’t spend money investing in it. Big brother Naija winner go home 100 million naira, that is 100 thousand dollars , and a car, home appliances, all expenses paid vacation. Nigerian idol winner go home with 40 Million Naira, that’s 40 thousand dollars, a car, phones and other prizes. Those are shows Nigeria care about, so brand and sponsors spend money on them. Silver bird group barely make any money from Miss Universe Nigeria.

Nigerians are not interested in beauty pageants if Nigerians were interested , no African country would be able to match Nigeria in terms of production. SilverBird is just one man business trying to hold the Miss universe Nigeria franchise for years, but Nigerians do not care enough to support it. Our Big Brother Naija, The Voice Nigeria and Nigeria idol winners have more followers , make more money than pageant winners in Nigeria. If that’s the truth then the organisation should’ve just crowned her instead of putting all these other women the through troubles.
And I personally think that a queen deserves to be crowned based on the consistency, advocacy and hard work not due to empathy.
Goodluck to her thought and I’m happy that Mia and her will be at miss universe at the same time.

I personally am happy with the results - even if Rivers who is forever my favorite Nigerian queen didn't win. I strongly believe that if she comes back a third time - it will be the perfect time to win!
I think the Top 5 were neck and neck in Q&A - with the eventual 1RU my fave interview of the lot - and I think she will do well in Supranational.
Chichi was great overall and glad she won - but she needs A LOT of work in catwalk training and interview to win MU let alone crack the Top 10.
At best, she can place as a finalist but the calibre this year will eat her alive!
Finally for a big country like Nigeria - they can definitely do better in terms of production and staging going forward.

For some reason most people didn't watch the interview of Murray Bruce saying it was the other girls that urged the organisers to Invite her over, after seeing what was going on with her in SA. Nobody cares if it's an emotional vote for her. She deserves her win. Besides she's a damn good looking girl, well comported for this event. Trust me most Nigerians feel good about her emergence. She will do well in Mexico. Nobody is going to toy with one of us. She has a base now. She's receiving all the love she needs and desires. We thank Sad Africans for throwing out a girl that called SA her country. It's our gain. Right now everyone needs to keep off her if you're not wishing her well. Remember: their game , their rules. I listened carefully and with great respect to your views: what if Chidimma is not successful at MU? That question is totally negative. As an African following to see the ladies representing Africa in Mexico this season, i would definitely agree that we have strong candidates. I feel like the crowning event for Nigeria was not as I expected. 😢

Chidinma already had DUAL citizenship. She has a Nigerian passport..which is allowed because of her father's nationality. Which means she is considered as a Nigerian ( in diaspora ). Many Nigerians who were not born in Nigeria are returning home to help bringing back their wealth of experience.. So she wont need a visa to enter Nigeria..she would only need to get the normal documentation to "work" in Nigeria for this year and further..and any Nigerian agency or simple lawyer can get that for her easily.

Chidinma doesn't and didn't have dual citizenship. Where did you get that? watch the first interview that the Nigerian president of the Silva group did. He was aware that Chidinma didn't have dual citizenship. She was fraudulently registered as South African. Even said that according to Chidinma, the case was dropped which was not true. Even South African officials are stressing about leaving her stateless was they complete the case. Watch the South African Home Affairs interviews regarding this matter.

No, one SAn, Chi Chi just grew up in SA. She is not SAn. Cannot be compared with our MIA. In SA, you must be a citizen to be our ambassador. We abide by our law.
