BRIDGEPORT, CT - At approximately 10:00pm on May 14, 2024 the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to 60 Jones Avenue for a house fire. First companies on scene found heavy smoke showing from the rear of a 2 1/2 story occupied dwelling. Searches came up negative and fire was found on the 2nd floor extending up into the 3rd. Several bird cages were found and removed to the exterior to remove the birds from the heavy smoke. In all, 13 people were displaced. Cause of the fire is unknown as of this time.
