Actually, if you look at Francia's other interviews, she says she was told first. She just didn't like it that they told Selena without telling her. Francia did say she had a plan or a way to tell Selena.

I could not finish watching this vid, feel like everything is so fake on Selena side, and Francia became a victim in the end.
Honestly when I first heard the news about how “Selena’s best friend gave her a kidney” I was like okay, I didn’t even know these two were friends. And after the procedure I didn’t see or hear much of their friendship later on. In retrospect it really looks like Selena tried to maintain this friendship for obvious reasons and now … well, they aren’t exactly on the best terms.

Its definitely not how the situation should have been handled. I am a living kidney donor coordinator, the correct procedure is that the match results should be relayed to the donor. Giving the results to the potential donor first means you allow them time to absorb the news, and decide how to move forward in a protected, no pressure zone. We also encourage the donor to be the one to relay the news to the intended recipient.

Selena's fans are saying " It's just a kidney. Why is francia doing drama? " How many people will give their healthy kidney to someone other than their parents or kids? Donors have more complications than the receiver. Selena totally ghosted Francia. Her response recently was " Sorry i didn't mention everyone i know" that was so shameful and disrespectful. The girl who gave her part of the body to Selena is just someone Selena knows. Stop portraying Selena as some godess. She is so self centred and thinks the world revolves around her. Also in one of her interviews, Selena addressed francia as "that girl who gave me kidney" and in the next sentence she named her other best friend. The correct statement is "I didnt educate myself" before the kidney surgery. It's your body, it's your job to take 2nd opinions, do the research and take informed decisions. Because the other party could be unethical. She seems to be a naive trusting person.
@@rairadio7119 I believe she purposely stated that in addition to the doctor foregoing with the information to Selena firsthand, as a way to let us know that she was kind of pushed in a corner with being a donor. Without having to bash Selena and the doctor she basically told us how it went down (it was non-ethical, as in not even the doctors gave her first hand information because their duty was to Selena). Even if she gave herself the luxury of educating herself, did she really feel like she had the option of saying NO? the doctor hyped Selena with the information before hand. HIPPA LAWS were breached.

@@kamalramteke7648 my brother went through this and after the surgery the recipient and the donor need someone to help them out with cooking and around their house for a few weeks and in my brother's case it brought up the childhood trauma in the donor, she had always struggled with it but after the surgery the stress got worse for a couple of years and then it got better.

I don’t think she meant to exclude Francia with that statement, so I don’t find the statement itself problematic as she was basically just emphasising how she didn’t feel like she fit in with other musical artists.
I do think that she should have been mentioned in the documentary though. That awful friend Raquelle showed up but no Francia. I don’t think the lack of mention was ill intended but they probably had a fall out and didn’t feel comfortable anymore mentioning her. Granted, even in very deep well known bits that referenced her past relationship and other parts she did not go that much in depth. I do feel like she still should have mentioned Francia.

Um, if you follow Selena and look at her posts, she has posted pictures with Francia, wished her happy birthday, etc , long before all of this happened, many times. Selena has a group of friends- Courtney, Francia, Ashley, Raquelle, Caroline, etc, they're her best friends. She has never claimed Taylor is her best friend, the media just likes to blow things up. They even got tattoos together recently. Even Taylor has her own group of friends.

For example, having your best friend as your boss etc. This could cause complications within the friendship, as one had given the other kidney. Selena may feel obligated to remain friends with her, as she literally donated an entire organ to her. Same with the other girl, she has that power over Selena, and may become entitled to their friendship.
Doctors look potential donors over tooth and nail so that they are completely confident they are not causing harm to the donor. My testing took 4 months! There is nothing unethical about it. I feel sad if you have friends who need a kidney and you would rather see them suffer than do what you can to help.

FirstJune yeah its shocking but Francia said in another video that donors are told before the surgery that its not going to be their kidney anymore and they have to accept that and let go any anger you might have at the recipient not really taking care of themselves after they get it needs to be let go. Hanna The hospital is suppose to tell the donor first, and they have to give consent for the receiver to know. So if donor didn’t want to go through with it, the hospital can tell the receiver it wasn’t a match. This way it doesn’t put pressure on donor. This is why it’s hard to say no.
It is against the law for a doctor to tell someone else about another patients information, unless the patient is under the age of 18 then the information goes to parents or guardian. But unless the patient is married no other information is to given out. It is against HIPAA. So basically that doctor can get fired for sharing information.

Honestly I understand her so much, I donated my liver (70%) to my aunt and it’s been so overwhelming. It’s nice to see her be confident in her scars, it makes me feel a little bit better with mine!
