The hot coffe in Vegapunks transmission is key!
York is responsible for sleeping and eating for the Vegapunks and that should also include DRINKING. So if Vegapunk is trying to drink the coffee that means York was not created yet during the recording of the message. It is possible that York itself is the transmitter
It’s an interesting thought. York is punk 06. I assumed they were all created at the same time, but it’s definitely not impossible for them to have been staggered.

i'm assuming vegapunk can still eat and drink, but he created York to do it for him so he can spend all his time with science. Interesting thought regardless.
I would say Kizaru's alignment is Lawful Neutral. He follows the law and will enforce it when he is forced into it, but generally speaking he will let shit slide if no one is around to tell him otherwise.
The correct answer is that Kizaru is Lawful Neutral. He's not killing Vegapunk for shots and giggles but only because he was ordered to. But when he's given a chance to stop fighting, he takes it.

@andrewdevita629 they mean in dnd alignment chart terms. kizaru during egghead is the epitome of lawful neutral; no matter how you feel the law is the law and it must be upheld. he's essentially a paladin for the world government.
@hornpilepheonix6254 oh I know what they're doing. I'm very very familiar with dnd alignment. Kizaru still isn't lawful neutral. Being willing to do heinous things because he thinks it's for the greater good, and following a set of rules (whether it be literal laws or a personal code, lawful in dnd doesn't literally have to mean adherence to written law) makes you lawful evil.
@@andrewdevita629 evil in dnd is usually defined by personal intent kizaru is conflicted and doesn't want to commit evil acts againts his friend but he's trying to uphold the law to an extreme which is what lawful neutral is all about. actions dont automatically make you evil, even a lawful good character can commit evil acts

Hey Tekking, going through a rough time atm, mom had aortic surgery few months ago and I’m battling some debilitating stomach ulcers, which with anxiety/depression and all the pain and stress has rlly made some days dark, but you’re energy and who you are and the content you make always makes my day even a little better, and I wait basically everyday for a post(I know you don’t always upload back to back but you never know) but thank you tekking for being one of the bright spots in part of my life
While this is just my opinion I don’t think Vegapunk was thinking about a fall guy instead I think he was thinking about the marine or cipher pol agent who actually killed him. He knows that these guys don’t know everything and are just following orders, so he doesn’t want some poor sap to be lambasted for killing Vegapunk
If Kid ended up in Egghead and the government tried to put the blame on him...
The average citizen would be like... I find it perfectly reasonable and don't suspect foul play on from the government

My thoughts on these character alignments are that they’re not complete without adding the other axis of chaotic-lawful. Mihawk leans a little towards Chaotic Neutral as he generally refuses to let anyone order him around; Kizaru seems to be lawful neutral, a “cog in the machine” as he tends to put it, which may bring imagery of D&D’s Mechanus to mind.

The lucky thing about Luffy is, the "ego" and self-interest he follows includes the happiness of his friends and those that fed him.
Feels like oda is really putting himself into vegapunk in talking about good/evil. Reminds me of sensui from yyh where togashi at one of the lowest points of his life was giving us his philosophy on life and that's sad from their pov as mangaka are basically treated with the worst schedules
Pretty much the bad schedule really needs to be fixed since some mangaka like oda do needs to rest because of it
If only life was so simple. I understand it's easy to complain about the publishers, but if you want to really understand a mangaka, try watching "Bakuman" and you will understand. A writer love his story much more than any rearer, that's why they work hard on it, sometimes even disregarding their own health. Plus there is competition, expectations, and so on. If you only worked an employee job, you will never truly understand their pov

Toriyama has this with cell saga too.
Basically mangaka are on a tight rope constantly and bakuman is one perspective on this. We got other mangaka that emulate what's big and crash. Others can do 3-5 manga at once but for the most part it's all very hard work.

I have accidentally trained my brain to fall asleep to your videos. I used to just play your videos quietly in the background before going to sleep every night because I love your videos and they are very entertaining to listen to, but now almost a year after I started doing this, I’ve noticed I’ve had a hard time falling asleep without one of your videos in the background because it’s just what my brain is used to

Definitely not. He doesn’t know about Imu. If he knew about Imu, he would’ve told Dragon about Imu. But dragon had no idea the empty throne was taken. So VegaPunk most definitely doesn’t know.
@GourSmith Maybe he found out recently, he was looking into void century after all. And Vegapunk probably wasn't in regular contact with Dragon since he started working for world government
@@mangoslav9188 VegaPunk is a long-time friend and ally of Dragon … Dragon is the only person openly declaring war on the whole government with a full army of his own. Of course VegaPunk would share that revelation. Unless Dragon told VegaPunk about Imu immediately after he was told by Sabo … VegaPunk doesn’t know. And you can’t say they don’t talk much or aren’t friends like that … Who was the person the punks called when they realized they would be killed? They called Dragon. So the only way he could know about Imu is if Dragon recently told him.
I kind of interpreted vegapunks ‘good and evil’ thing like not that he doesn’t believe in good and evil but he himself doesn’t think he’s qualified to speak on that stuff because of what he’s created like the pacifista, even if it was with good intentions. He might not feel like he fully represents/understands one or the other because he has done good and bad things intentionally and unintentionally.
Following orders is Lawful to Neutral.
Ignoring orders & doing what you want is Chaotic to Neutral.
Kizaru fits the Neutral label to a tee, morally & in terms of obedience. He doesn't go 110% into the law, but he also doesn't do whatever he wants. He gets an order, he fulfills it, and he goes away (and even then he's rather casual/careless regarding how he fulfills his jobs if he can afford to be such).
Not gonna lie, I honestly wanna see Luffy just make a giant newspaper and roll it up just to try and swat Saturn like the spider he is! Kill it! Kill the demonic spider! I am honestly worried about seeing these chapters animated for the anime! 😅
A better outcome would be, saturn going splaaat!!! Then proceeds to get flattened like Jerry and tossed in the sea or miles away by a giant gear 5 luffy 😂 😂

My theory is that vegapunk recorded the message not long ago when he found out kizaru was sent to kill him. Perhaps it was his attempt to keep kizaru from going psycho once hes gone

I think the message was recorded during the time skip we had where they were fighting the seraphim. That also explains why all the vegapunk didn’t know about the broadcast

I think when Vegapunk said "Him," he was 100% referring to Imu. The only people who would understand that are the remaining Satellites and the Gorosei members. I might be wrong, but to me, it looked like Saturn had a reaction after Vegapunk said that.
And I think he used "Him" because it allows everyone else to come up with their own interpretation of the message, whether they think it's Luffy, someone from the Marines, or whoever.
Just watched Oppenheimer. Vegapunk and Oppenheimer are very similar. Both were scientists that had world changing intentions that were inevitably taken by the government.
one of the trailers for the vegapunk ark is someone accessing punk records and getting the history of the straw hat pirates, ending with them adding egghead to the list of islands that the straw hats have gone to. so i can see it being vegapunk knowing that the straw hats are going to reach egghead island.
pandaman is chaotic good because he goes around the whole world, allowing the people to witness the majestic presence that is Pandaman.

D&D alignment chat is one of those things D&D borrowed from popular fantasy books but lot of folks don't remember the original context :D
VITAL UPDATE: Kizaru Cauterization Theory part 2 since no one wants to entertain my theory:
TO BE VERY CLEAR: ("Mr.Waternoose") Saturn (AKA Mr."He'll inseminate a thousand women before he let's Maryjoise die") stabbed Stella FIRST with his poisonous leg. Kizaru mimicked stabbing him in the same spot after that and was the LAST to stab at him. Also to support my cauterization theory: After Kizaru stabs at him and he hits the ground, we see rocks pop up from the ground, not blood, nor any splattered blood on the floor (arguably you could say you saw a little bit from the wound from the back to show the direction the blade left the wound (but that would be normal). The wound is never shown in detail past this point so i get it is still uncertain, but I noticed 2 other things in searching. 1: The last chapter we see his body is in the last chapter whebn Sanji carries him and he us bitten by horse head guy. The closest we see of him is a zoom in on his unconsious face on sanji's shoulder. 2: I understand the lack of detail that some of the panels can have or maybe even inconsistencies, but in panels that DO show blood/wounds that are up close, this stuff is generally consistent.
In the last panel of Stella's body being shown 10 pages into the last chapter, we see him bleeding from his head and him unconsious on sanjis arm. Sanji is remarkibly clean for carrying around an bleeding SOB. That's as good as we can see for now but ig we'll see what's good soon. There's just not sufficient proof to me yet that it's entirely ruled out that Kizaru actually helped him by doing that.
THE LAST AND MAJOR POINT: In the panel showing our homies form Syrup which I litterally just thought about as I'm writing this, Kaya says...IN BOLD BTW: "DR.VEGAPUNK IS A LEGEND IN THE MEDICAL FIELD TOO YOU KNOW". This is the ONLY text that is bolded like that that is not being shouted. I really think this is pivitol to what is hapening now, perhaps Chopper will make use of this information because why tf not, and or, maybe Kizaru picked up a few things that LED him to cauterize the wound as he was always there when Stella was working on Kuma and working to cure Bonney.
Again, I could be mad wrong on this but I've been looking at this very logically based on facts we know, and basedon his established relationship with Stella and what he said to Bonney about a swift death, again it makes more sense that this is what he'd do as opposed to stabbing him in the same not as lethal spot, nor vital enough to execute a swift death for a proclaimed friend. If I'm proven wrong I will be the first to admit but I sincerely don't think its cap.
It’s possible that the person Vegapunk was about from his message (don’t blame the one who killed me) is probably about Kizaru. He was the last person to deal serious damage to Vegapunk and he’s only known him for two years from the flashback. From the cover pages we can see that Vegapunk was with the Gorosei at some point ofc but didn’t seem to be working directly with Saturn. Kinda like if a General commands his troops to attack. You can fully blame the troops 100% when they’re just following orders. Kizaru was the only person that showed physical remorse for his actions after all. It could be that Vegapunk spoke to Kizaru beforehand or that he could deduce that Kizaru would’ve been the Admiral sent to Egghead. Sorta like a Dumbledore and Snape event. “We both know Saturn will murder me. You must be the only to kill me, Kizaru. It is the only way”
I don’t personally think he was talking about luffy in the literal sense either. Since he knows Dragon (prob doesn’t talk much about Luffy tho) and Kuma who went to visit Luffy when he was younger and prob told Vegapunk about him
Vegapunk is so gonna survive:
-his brain is alive, Mars even mentions the possibility.
-They have stem cell organ transplant technology
-Atlas, Lilth and Edison don't react to the message starting, knowing it means Vegapunk's heart stopped (not sure about this, since York didn't know. However, she avoided killing him before she was captured. Maybe she did know but the satelites don't know where the transponder is hidden).
-Atlas catches Stella's body with urgency, even though it should be long dead by now. She may know he can be brought back
On the subject of when Vegapunk made this message, I think there’s a high chance he made it right after the destruction of Lulusia, especially after seeing it’s ramifications felt all over the world the next day
The fact that vegapunk does not see things in black & white is part of the problem because of that he's able to create a world ending power source, terminators then gives it to the world government for you know for science. Vega punk is one of the .ist brilliant people and one of the most dangerous. Since there is no one there to say "hey maybe you shouldn't create that thing that could kill a shit ton of people if the wrong person gets it."
He might have thought Bonney would come for revenge as well.
Rather than how the people of the world should respond, I think this is a message from Vegapunk to judge things for themselves.
Making your own judgement with verified information is pretty science.

The only difference here is power. Lucci is cartoonishly evil already (which is fitting for a villain from a cartoon) and his characterization does not imply that he'd be any more benign if he was in Saturn's position.
Im almost halway through the video and what my first thought was when he said dont think they are evil, i thought of the revolutionary army, since he contacted them. He probably assumed the WG would step in ASAP when he contacted dragon, the main goal was probably to have the RA be there to get the transmission snail and if he died by that point, the WG would frame the RA.
Edit: also think about Kizarus mission. He had to put down his 'nephew', attack a little girl which he knows had so much bad luck in life, knew her father, has to attack a friend and potentially kill him, this mission took a heavy toll on him and he just wants this to end, hes like dont make me do more to friends of mine
I would pay for a Detective Chopper TV show where it's chopper in a modern setting world, fighting crime and catching criminals

Vegapunk is first and foremost a scientist. His job is not to judge people or their actions as "good" or "evil. His job is to do research, report his discoveries, and let the people judge for themselves.

Vegapunk is correct in that we cannot judge a person's soul,
However, if the implication is that all perspectives are equally valid with some people viewing an evil action as good then that is 100% wrong.
A person's perspective does not change objective reality. Merely believing something to be true does not make it true.
The Gorosei's actions are objectively evil regardless of their perspective on the matter.

Regardless of wat happens on Egghead if the Gorosei find out that Wapol knows they're demon monsters he is gonna be toast.
But if you think about it, Vegapunk was not surprised with Gear 5, he already knew about it, so he knew what happened in Wano at least seeing Luffy's bounty Poster, he os on the WG side.
Then Luffy arrives very close to Lucci. If Vegapunk is that smart, he could predict that they might go there as they're in a neighbor island. If he heard about Doffy, as he heard from Kuma already about the SHs, and he knows Luffy is dragon's son, so he's not going to forget Luffy.
Vegapunk could've basically have seen the trajectory of Luffy coming towards him in the grand line and running statistics about it.
Kizaru is lawful neutral now, but if he continues to stand by and enforce the acts of the Gorosei, that might as well be lawful evil.
The way I see it, is Vegapunk felt he committed a lot of horrible actions which lead to a lot of suffering, and he felt that he has no right to be avenged nor should anyone consider what the person who did this to him as good or evil.
Vegapunk still took funding from the WG despite knowing how corrupt they are, he still went with turning Kuma into a Pacifista, he may have been responsible for the mother flame, York is the greed part of Vegapunk's mind so he it ended up causing some issues and why he was just doing what he was told at times, he STILL complied with the WG. He did a lot of good, but whether it be forced, pushed or by his own will he did do bad things.
As a result, he feels that he has not right nor stance to argue morality.

Vegapunk risk the entire thing getting cut off for that one reason, and none of the things you rattle off there would have any additional impact by there being a video (it's not like he would have any images of videos of the Gorosei's yokai forms back then). What the heck is it that he wants to say that absolutely needs a video feed, _that_ is the actual mystery here

Btw Greed has Den Den Mushi everywhere, she could easily have detected and transmitted it to Morgans as her insurance to spite the Gorosei if she died and show the World their true appearance. The conversation about the triangular snail couldve been bait to get him to shift into his human form to get a pic of him stepping on the Snail. So York has a lot of Ammo.
Something you gotta keep in mind is that Luffy does not murder or kill others. Those that know Luffy knows he wouldn't but those who have no idea what kind of person Luffy is assume he would because he's a pirate.

How long did the trip take from wano to egghead? Could vegapunk have noticed their course and made the message before the straw hats actually arrived. And that's probably also why he was a bit more willing to ask Luffy for help to get off the island knowing of him and the relation to dragon.

So earlier this year the movie Argylle came out and SPOILERS for the movie but there's a character that's thought to be dead that got shot pretty close to the heart but was able to be saved but was confirmed to be dead at the time. I was thinking what if that's what happened to Vegapunk where he did technically die so the message went off but is still able to be saved. I doubt it will happen but it's something I was thinking about. If you've seen Argylle you'll know what I'm talking about.

What if the Gorosei used to be members of Joy Boys crew and were captured by IM and Im warped their bodies and minds to be the way they are now? I mean Queen Beryl did the same thing in the Sailor Moon series. We don't know the full scope of IM's powers after all.
