- Despite the majority of fans enjoying the game responsibly, the day was not without incident. Sussex Police later reported that an officer was injured before the match commenced, a result of a pyrotechnic device thrown near Brighton Station. Thankfully, the officer did not require hospital treatment and is currently recovering.
The police operation led to seven arrests for various offences, including assault, assault on an emergency worker, affray, and violations of the Public Order Act, with two cases exacerbated by homophobia.
If only people cared about real life as much as they do about football we wouldn’t be in this mess !!!! Bread and circuses!!!!!! And you know it !!!!!!!!!!

This is why I avoided the station and took the bus from Churchill Square instead. In fact I no longer take the train to the Amex for all home games. I take the bus from CS - much easier, more space, less hassle and only marginally longer journey. But you avoid the queues and the station trouble, and you don’t get squashed in the train.
Pity the police didn’t show as much when the demonstration was on over the weekend

I remember going to Palace a good few years ago with City and we had a good Banter during the game.... while in a pub later there was some City having a laugh with the palace lads and all they went on about was how they hated Brighton! .... It appears it's because of games in the 70s when this hatred began...good lads the palace boys but that hate for Brighton is real!! 😂
Mostly Goes back to mid 70's when we were both in old Division 3 & looked on as the "big" teams in that league, met 3 times in the FA Cup with my side, Palace, winning third game, (after 2 draws), at Chelsea, both used to get roughly same size crowds, both went up, people laugh at it being called a Derby, fair enough, but from East Croydon you can get to Brighton in around 50 minutes by train
