In MG1 Ren was at first the Prosecuter + Judge and the Hostage/Deliquent was the "anonymous Money Game" which he blamed + judged ...but as the Money Game got eyes it wasn´t "anonymous" anymore and he realized "We´re all part of this old Money Game" = including himself..so he couldn´t fulfill his final role as Executor unless when executing himself. That is for me MG1 "The Introduction" In MG2 Ren explains how the Money Game is played. That is for me MG2 "The Explaination" In MG3 Ren shows what the Money Game can do with one´s life. That is for me MG3 "The Ramification"
The one thing that still gets me is that he keeps getting better and he is already off the scales 😅 Not sure my brain can handle Ren 5 or 10 years from now 🤯
I love how ren makes everyone think. Like the realization you had about modern mainstream rap. And I never thought about that and now I realize it too. True art. It just makes us all think about the world and society we've created. Our shared myths and how we need or want them crafted
Which other musical artist is performing at this level, whilst being ill & on a low budget, supported by friends and not professionally seasoned experts? Ren is a feckin GENIUS Great reaction 👍😃
My take on the first video (for what it's worth): The guy in the chair is one of the leaders. politician or CEO or something. Ren goes through a bunch of options for killing him. Starting with the rope, then faked a gun to his head, then the bat. But the guy can't see it. Eventually he gives him eyes, and he stops himself from getting burned. Then Ren turns the mirror on himself, and realizes that he's just as much of a part of the money game, and burns himself.
My initial reaction was the same as yours, 'fuck". I sat there, with my jaw dropped and fuck was all I could mutter out. I can't even lie, Ren, has changed my perspective on life. I don't get upset like I use to and I enjoy the little moments more. He's really made my life better and in perspective, with just his words.
@@timwilson1339 any Ren fan knows Ren isn’t talking about any ONE party. That it’s a systemic issue, if you (or anyone) is only seeing one group as the “problem” then you aren’t getting the full message and as Ren says dig deeper. It’s about the collective, building community and working together to build bridges and help out our fellow man instead of dividing over made up political systems. We don’t need more division in this world. We need more community, to work together as the human race to build a brighter tomorrow. As long as we allow ourselves to be divided we can not survive.
Ren's MG series is very thought provoking, which is likely intentional. I've never met 2 people who have the exact same value when it comes to money which is why so many people have different perspectives of MG 1,2 and 3. For me, it doesn't say that money isn't important, it's saying that the ultra rich and powerful control us regular people (in the middle we sleep). If we want fairness and change we need to wake up, put aside the division of the stupid sh*t that doesn't really affect our lives, come together as we really want the same things. We want a comfortable life without the struggle of being broke or poor.
When he pours petrol on himself it struck me as reminiscent of - "a crop of Malcolm Browne's famous photograph of the self-immolation of Thích Quảng Đức, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, in Saigon in 1963." AKA the cover of the Rage Against The Machine debut album of the same name. And I'm sure Zacharias Manuel de la Rocha would be cool with that! John F. Kennedy said of that photograph, "No news picture in history has generated so much emotion around the world as that one." My quote - "No young rapper in history has generated so much emotion around the world as that one."
I've been waiting for a reactor to point out 45 being a reference to the 45th president! Yall are the first 😊 the whole song reminded me of Trumps upbringing more than Bidens, however. Trumps dad hated him and told him he wasn't shit unless he was the richest, most powerful... Trump is very "mine mine gimmie." Not saying the Bidens are any better.
Yup. Crazy how someone can see Biden here when a Trump comparison is far closer and $2billion from the Saudis to Kushner far closer to ‘selling arms in Iran’. But people see what they want to see.
I'm pretty sure your the one and only person in this comment section that thought of Trumps situation when watching theese videos instead of what the other 90% of Americans see when watching. And that is the obvious. One of the most corrupt families . ever in the history of the United States and that is the Biden family. It's crazy how bad TDS can be in some .
Yes Ren is playing the piano at the beginning. He also wrote the script and the music for all the instruments. He is an humble genius. We love you Ren!!
And to think...it all begins with Ren...on his own...having an idea...writes the lyrics...the piano and strings arrangement, ..the visual storyline.....and then turns to his friends and says.... I got an idea guys lol
A few days ago I watched every ren reaction tou guys did from beginning to end. It's amazing to watch his progression and more importantly both of your appreciation towards him. You should make a complication of the whole of your journey. I think it would be dope af
I really agree with that. I have memories (although I could be wrong) where at the start of the journey, there was a little bit of hesitancy "what the fuck is this". Totally understandable. But once you get hooked, once you understand just exactly what he is doing, there is no turning back
The metaphor for the burning self is the eventual economic collapse if businesses continue to weld the power they have in the modern era. Basically just self destruction that lights everyone else on fire as well
Boy oh boy have I been waiting for this! Ren is genius and I LOVED seeing how engulfed you two were. He brought you in just as intended and it was beautiful. You two being left speechless in moments trying to gather your thoughts on what you just consumed was very profound.
Loved the reaction, Ren is AMAZING. If only more people saw him and GOT it the world would be a great place…. One person at a time and we might live in a paradise.
Ha! On your TV comment about commercials. A couple things to think about, it’s called a television, tel a vision, and what you call shows, they call your daily programming. In the tv guide it’s under programming
I've always taken the ending of MG1 as Ren coming to terms with the hypocrisy of the song because he's part of it too. I think he realizes that the person playing the guitar is also him.
So, some of the symbolism from the beginning of MG3 kinda just clicked for me. Ren is going ham on the keys, then he gets replaced. The music (the money game) pauses. At a loss for what to do, he wanders away and reflects (literally/figuratively) and sees that he's bound and hooded. Then he takes off his restraints, the music/game resumes, and he dives right into his role as an observer and narrator, bringing us the story of Jimmy. The music continues until he stops it to deliver his anti-MG monologue, and then it resumes for the finale where we see the culmination of the MG for Jimmy.
Lmao... at the beginning of MG3, imagine if that was him? Uhm, yeah, imagine... Modern day Mozart. He writes the whole play, all the music, all the parts...and he also plays.
Always make wish I had heard this before Hi Ren, because it makes the line where his “evil” side is mocking him for rapping She Sells Sea Shells on the Sea Shore, makes it hit so much harder lol. Good shit yall
Y'all are pretty good at finding meanings in what the songs are about! It's also important with MG3 that it's also a problem generationally. Our parents (maybe with good intentions) push us to do more and more and play into the money game without thinking about what it does to a person.
Holy Crap. I bought the album with Money Game Part 3 on it, but watching the video just blew my mind again! Its a total assault on all senses! Like, I'm 50+ years old and I have never been hit like this. I...there...he...fuck.
I interpretated part 1 like this: Ren embodies the World, taking all these hits (guitar strokes) by humanity. And the Dude in the chair is embodieing humanity itself, that is at the mercy of the world, but blindfolded when it comes to critic and mistakes of itself
Moneybags in the chair is the society and the guitar represents the good parts that Ren wants to keep so insted of burning it all down he self immolates as a protest.
Ren couldn’t do shows, he’s ill. Watch the video ‘A Day in the Life of Ren’ you’ll see what a typical day is like for Ren. He has Lyme disease which has ravaged his body and given him brain damage, he simply doesn’t have the energy to do long stints like concerts/shows, it’s too exhausting for him.

Well explained !
The shell oil company was started by an antiques dealer who imported decorative shells from the far east. His sons started shipping barrels of oil
Seriously I had no idea. Thank you
Explains the she sells sea shells analogy he uses in money game part 2
"She sells sea shells by the sea shore" thats what he was referring to when the dark side was mocking him in Hi Ren!!! 🔥🔥🔥
It’s him. Yes he plays piano too. At this point nothing about Ren’s abilities surprises me any more.
The one thing that still gets me is that he keeps getting better and he is already off the scales 😅 Not sure my brain can handle Ren 5 or 10 years from now 🤯

True art. It just makes us all think about the world and society we've created. Our shared myths and how we need or want them crafted
I've been taking it that the money bag over the head signifies a captive of the money game
I truly think that Ren is a once-in-a-generation artist and that we're very lucky to witness this. Great reaction guys. 👍

Ren is a feckin GENIUS

Tom MacDonald
I was just going to say Tom MacDonald lol

Tom isn't even close to being on rens level sorry not sorry
Shell oil started out selling literal seashells when it was an antiquity shop. Ren is god tier. ❤❤❤

That is actually pretty Smart.
It's important to remember the word WE. He constantly says that we are all guilty of being part of the money game. So he's blaming himself too.
Ren has just held up a big mirror at the world and us we all part of the money game we to blame

How did Shell oil start?
The two parent companies of Royal Dutch Shell began as rival organizations in the late 19th century. In 1878 in London, Marcus Samuel (1853-1927) took over his father's import-export business (which included the import of Oriental shells-hence the later name) and started a sideline of handling consignments of kerosene
