    The problem with waiting to fire Cashman until the off-season is this...
    They are right. This team likely won't make the playoffs. This team should almost certainly be sellers this deadline. They don't have any money to spend and even if they did, this team is not a quick fix away from contenting.
    So if they need to get rid of the GM and if they need to sell and start another retooling, then you can't have Cashman be the one in charge at this deadline while he is trying to save his job. He needs to go now and his replacement should be the one picking and choosing what pieces to keep, who to trade off, and what they are getting in return.

    Stop protecting Boone Michael! Please stop it! You sound utterly ridiculous right now saying that Boone is not responsible. Boone is the manager, he's the one that decides whether they should bunt or not, he's the one that decides whether he should come out the dugout or not, he's the one that decides whether he should complain about a call or not, what are you talking about Michael? Cashman is the general manager, he does not sit in the field and call plays. You're talking to a fan base that for the most part is entrenched in baseball for decades at a time. How can you even say that Boone shouldn't be responsible? He defends Sanchez not Brian. If it's up to me, if I was one of the owners of the New York Yankees, I will get rid of Boone first, see where that goes and then Brian will be out right after him. If it's the front office with their old stuck ways about doing things, which they are, and everybody knows how they are, nothing but an old bunch of cronies still stuck in the old ways of doing things. Then maybe it's time to restructure the whole damn staff excluding the owners. The players are pawns they're told what to do and what not to do it's like that in every sport except individual sports like golf and tennis. Stanton, and 11 game streak? And he's been hurt ever since he's come to the Yankees for over 2 years now and counting! Really! That's forward progress huh? They got rid of Pavano because he just decided not to play, and they ate the contract, so what's the difference right now with Stanton, he hasn't done anything since coming to the Yankees and that's a fact, and nothing but a bare essential fact! They have the money and they could eat that contract and send them off to where theye ever want to go. Who cares if they miraculously get better on another team? That's a bunch of nonsense, which you guys always come up with when it comes to Sanchez! Oh he might get better on another team. Who cares if they get better on another team, he's not doing anything for you right now. That's two players that need to get out of their pronto. Stop defending Judge because he's the face of the organization! There you guys go again always hitting the money huh.

    The problem with DJ LeMahieu is the ball itself. MLB changed it this season and it's had a deleterious effect on players like LeMahieu with mid-range power. And not just him either, other players like him - Jeff McNeil, Eddie Rosario, Eric Hosmer, Anthony Rendon - all were players of similar high-contact, 20 HR power that are watching their flyballs fall short of the wall this season.

    This is my opinion on all of this. And in another forum, I had someone take issue with it, but if you think carefully about what I'm about to say, you'll see it similarly if not the same as I do. It starts at the top. Hal is a really nice guy, articulate and not a mercurial buffoon like his Dad could frequently be. BUT, you have to blame some of this on him. His father valued winning, the Yankees brand, and championships above all else. He paid (actually he frequently overpaid) top dollar but expected results and held people accountable. He sets the budget, he seems far more concerned about that than winning. This team is not well put together and that's on Cashman, period. The players are not motivated, not prepared, and seem to be going through the motions. The base running is so poor it looks like a T Ball team. That's on Boone. What existed 15, 25, 30, 40 years ago under George is still true today. Other than a fire sale before July 31, you can't fire 25 players. Barring a 15 game winning streak, this team may not get a sniff anywhere near the playoffs and if they do, they won't last long. What we all anticipated after 2017 hasn't even come close to paying off dividends. We took passes on several players when they were available; who wouldn't want Harper in say left field and his left handed bat coming up 4 or 5 times a game at Yankee Stadium? The patience with Sanchez is beyond reasonable and although he's been better, he isn't exactly making us forget Thurman or even Jorge either at or behind the plate. Moving Torres to short is this team's equivalent of how Joba Chamberlain was handled. If you aren't careful, you'll ruin that kid; he belongs at second base, period. You waited so long on Andujar he no longer has any real value in a trade. Anybody miss Mariano yet? Enough said. Stanton? I'm at least grateful he's on the field (for the most part). I'm waiting for him to get a paper cut opening his fan mail and hear he's on the 60 day IL (lol). Hicks? $70 million for a social justice warrior. Noble, but that doesn't win games. He gets paid to play and he spends so much time either in the operating room or on the trainer's table. You have to wonder if Cole is saying to himself, "What the **** was I thinking?" This is an absolute mess and very hard to watch. It may be time to simply move as many players out as they can and rebuild. You aren't winning with this team.

    The problem is philosophical. They have plenty of talent, even with the lack of LH hitters (and very few good lefty hitters are available).
    HRs are great, but you can't go up there swinging for the fences. You have to go with the pitch and put the ball in play. They are capable, but everyone is trying to pull, even DJ. Also, way too many guys are guessing what pitch is coming instead of see ball, hit ball. Their swings are too long, because they are trying to kill it. They don't situational hit either - there are times where you just have to hit the ball to the right side to advance runners; and singles with RISP win games. They hit into a ton of DPs, because they are mostly RH and pull everything. Love Gardy, but he needs to retire to give Florial a chance to play CF (also happens to be a lefty). I also believe Frazier would be a good CF, it's the easiest OF position to play if you have speed and an arm, he has both. Odor is a dud, move DJ to 2B and Andujar to 1B until Voit gets back. Btw, I knew Voit would get injured because he was swinging so hard.

    Blake, Nevin (bench coach), Harkey, Mendoza should be the only i think deserve to stay!! Bring Peña back as the catching coach
    Odor, Frazier, VOIT, Stanton (even if you have to pay 1-2yrs of his salary to trade him), Wilson, Wandy, Taillon, trade OFF!

    Aaron kicks was one of the worst signings cashman has ever made, hicks in and out of the lineup makes no difference, he can't hit righties anyways if he is the one giving balance to the lineup, then we are dead, we need changes, we need quality bats from the left side of the plate not HR hitters, we need a change on the coaching staff and we also need changes in the front office, cashman has to go his philosophy has not worked for years now.

  • @philipanania8614
    @philipanania8614 3 года назад

    The team has no leader and zero chemistry. Cashman needs to go - he does not understand pitching and the Yankees have not had a good pitching staff since Pettitte left. The coaching staff needs to go because the Yankees are not executing the fundementals. This team is dull. They are way over paid and lazy. The Yankees need guys who can hit .300 and they need to relearn to play the game - you know, hit, run, steal, bunt and stop striking out. Homeruns are way over rated. Boone probably needs to go too. Heck, replace everyone.

  • @steveseigel1595

    Boone is responsible for the bad ball playing. Poor base running, poor defensive (Torres), poor lineup writing. Whomever is writing the lineup is responsible for a lack luster batting. Every time somebody gets hot, Boone sets 'em down!!! Are you frickin' kidding me??? Ball players are streaky. You don't set 'em down when they're hot! Kay you're an idiot if you think somebody better than Sanchez out there. Name him and show me his numbers. And you consistently talk how good Torres is over Andujar but if you look at their statistics in the field and at bat it's no contest! Andujar is better!!! I just laugh every time Torres hits into a DP or has an error. He has more bad plays than good plays!!!
