I don't think people truly understand the difference in pre and post 9/11 military experience. Combat was such an abstract idea that anyone who had seen it was an oddity. We were training for WW III to fight the Russians like it was still the 60's.

I used to buy KillCliff at Publix. Loved it for pre workout drinks. It was always hit or miss if there was any on the shelf though.
