That low growling bass note in Heading For the Door gives me chills, so beautiful, just one freaking sustained whole note played on a bass has so much emotional power.
Put this on this morning and was instantly taken back to my days in SF (early 2000s) driving around in my Honda CRX with a taped version of this recording almost permanently left in the tape player. I used to have all the dj/band banter memorized too..."fuck the kids"...LOL. Mr. Monchichi if you're still out there, thank you for this
The opening leading into Heading for the Door feels so good. It's like the sonic equivalent of a block overcoming static friction and sliding down a hill.
I always heard "find music that speaks to you" and I always kind of thought that was just something people say and you just find catchy songs you like, then I grew up alittle and found Duster and the rest of the 90s indie rock stuff and hearing songs like "I am the king" for the first time, I knew this is the music that speaks to me, this music says something to me I never have heard in other songs, and version of the gold dust on this live album almost makes me cry. :)
It makes me sad how a lot of people in the comments are upset I know it don’t mean much but I hope you guys feel better and find happiness ♥️♥️♥️ it’s a cruel world but you’ll all find something I promise.

Finding live versions of music that means so much to you really is one of the greatest feelings in the world being found in something that recognizes every feeling you aren’t able to translate into words just makes you feel seen. These men mean the world to me and I’m so greatful to be able to exist in a time where I can witness their music and craft.

You can tell that Duster was never very good because of this recording. The background static shows that he can't even get good equipment, or a new drum beat in the entire EP. Overall, this album should have been left in the air.
