I am a master plumber from Michgan. I will be relocating to Ghana next year. On your lavatories or sinks get rid of the flex traps and 22 degree fitting, install a p-trap that goes direct into the waste piping system. The flexibility piping reduces the flow water leaving the fixture.
There should be a p-trap in your showers and floor drains so there is no sewer gas coming into the building.
Another issue is the breathing or venting of your plumbing system in the way that piped in the plumbing system. These should have consideration of these issues done before hand. I hope that the plumber didn't use any tee's in the waste line where wyes should have been used. If you need consultation contact me.
What’s your contact?
They don't have p-traps installed which will cause that area to dry out and cause gasses to go into the restrooms.
Congratulations on moving in. I am happy that you are now enjoying your lovely house.
Bright and Clara's channel shows this smell can be avoided by how how waste pipes are routed to the septic tank.
Big congrats for moving into your lovely home. You've done/doing a great job with the house and teaching people as go along. Much respect.
Thank You
Ashanti Queen

Listening from California USA. Great video , but I think one way valves specifically made for drainage pipes, placed inside the large pipes going to the soakaway would solve all the pipe smells within the house.I had them placed in my pipes 4 years ago when I replaced my old pipes.
Wow everytime I watch your videos my heart smiles, because you always touch on the very issues that I and most people care about. It's because you're doing this not for your own benefit but for the millions of your viewers. Congratulations and thank you very much God bless you. I'll be home next month, I'll definitely get in touch with you guys.
Great looking construction work Asher. Just a suggestion with your drain plumbing, there should have been a cover or lid with a tight fit on both ends with rubber gaskets and the silicone application wouldn't be necessary.
Yes, silicone is a bad idea for something that'll eventually be replaced. Surprisingly, local shops that I know in my city don't have proper trap. People have been doing basin installation wrong for yrs. That flexible hose (at those I've seen locally) is poor quality. They break pretty quickly.
At long last you have finally moved. Congratulations 🙂
Thanks
Great information as usual Asher. Stay blessed guys 👏🏾👊🏾🇯🇲🇬🇧
Congratulations to you both moving to your new home. Thanks for sharing your build.
Congratulations May God bless you and your dear wife for your hard work 🎉🎉🎊🎊🍾🥂.
Great job!
Your consulting services will ve a hit. You're the right person to consult. 👌🏾
Would it be a bad idea to channel all the kitchen, bathroom basin, floor drains and shower waste water into a separate soakaway? This will guarantee no faecal smell feedback. A small soakaway filled with rubble is worth considering.
The sink water itself has smell. Kitchen also. It's why trap is must have
Another trick to prevent the sewer gas from seeping in is to add a no return valve / clean out in the waste line just as it exits the building.
Non return valves are awesome; they also prevent sewer from backing into the building in case the septic tank overflows.
The smell is not coming from the waste line!
Lol
The actual sewer cannot back into the building in our case. The sewer cannot climb back into the house - there is no force behind it. Unless you mean the sewer gas? - that is trap by the p-trap toilet
So not sure what you mean?
So happy for you guys! One family at a time, indeed! Congratulations on moving in!
Thank you!! 😊
Why is flexible p-trap used? Is there not a rigid type on the market? The corrugation on this flex will trap dirt.
There are rigid types on the market. A flex tube for drainage is a horrible idea.
All basins - palace home decor / west african hardware, etc . Come with flexible tubes only.
It is up to the plumber to install the flex tube in the style of a P trap and apply the silicon and glue correctly.
Kitchen sinks come with a bottle trap typically
I got all my water using appliances set up as a P trap as much as possible now.
Congratulations to you guys. May Allah bless your home 🤲🏾🤲🏾🤲🏾
Congratulations! I’m so pride of you both, the most is awesome!❤️🙏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🇬🇭✊🏽✊🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
Thank you so much!!

Once again thank you and best wishes to you and your wife. Please I have a question though, if you don’t mind enlightening me or educating about metal trusses and galvanize roofing. I am currently debating on using a metal trusses and galvanized metal roofing. Please waiting for your insightful knowledge regarding to this topic. Gabe

You can do it!
Very helpful topic on that bad smell blog. Well done to you and the Mrs for proving that it can be done. Enjoy your lovely home. #making Africa home again, one family at a time”
Thanks
Yes!!! Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you guys well-done
I'm following you
Thanks
Congratulations for moving into your new house. The smell will be ceased whiles you are living there, (and using the taps frequently).
Thanks
I strongly suggest that you waterproof with silicone around the corners where the tiles meetup in the showers.
To be honest, you have a bend not a trap...there should be water sitting in the trap, which means you won't need to use silicone at all to prevent odors coming in. The house looks magnificent and I am glad you guys have moved in...congratulations!
Will revert
All basins - palace home decor / west african hardware, etc . Come with flexible tubes only.
It is up to the plumber to install the flex tube in the style of a P trap and apply the silicon and glue correctly. But agree that the silicon should not be necessary with a P trap. But that’s cheap and there’s no harm done by having it.
Kitchen sinks come with a bottle trap typically
I got all my water using appliances set up as a P trap as much as possible now.
@@kingstal90 Thanks for the response, I sent a email before seeing this...keep up the good work!
Congratulations on your move! Blessings 🙏🏾

Who hurries to take notes when Asher refers us to a previous video? Just in case the video disappears like the one with the electric system 😂. Just joking because I am grateful for all the information you shared 😊. Everything is so beautiful!
Curious - what video dissappeared?
Seriously do we need to hurry download and achieve the videos?
I don’t know what this person is talking about. All the electrical videos are on the channel
Your home soo beautiful
Congratulations, great work!
Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 🥳
I am building now and I put P traps everywhere!
Very good!
Well done brother
I
Am from DR congo
You are inspiring me and my husband a lot. We stealing many of your ideas
Thanks very much
Well done
Glad it’s been helpful
congratulations with God's help everything is possible just trust in him. beautiful house. am in the states coming to look at land early next year. again congratulations.
Hi Annie, I am from Congo as well (Lubumbashi to be precise but currently living in Joburg South Africa). Their channel has truly inspired me as well. We do not have a lot of RUclips channels from Congo with these types of content. I see alot of channel with these type of content from Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, and Nigeria. Maybe I should also open a RUclips channel and share the journey of construction with costs to help our brothers and sisters especially in the diaspora.
@@franck3603 Please open your channel ASAP your viewers can learn from you and you can also learn from their suggestions and ideas.
You should indeed
Congratulations 🍾🎉🎊
You have not got a Trap it is only a bend. I would suggest a bottle trap. Also if they have not put a shower trap then you will get the smell from the shower also
Yes
We have bottle trap under the kitchen
For the basin you saw, space is not sufficient really
Congratulations on moving into your new home.
Thanks
The flex tube is wrong from the get go, please please please your plumber should have done the proper job by installing the RIGHT P TRAP under your sink, bath tubs , shower stalls, floor drain etc
Congratulations 👏 👏
Congratulations.
Your plumber didn't do a professional job for you.
The plumbing rough - ins are incorrect, almost at the height of the hand wash basin, 60cm from the floor should do.
Using a flexible waste pipe will cause so much problems in the future, use Bottle/ P Traps.
The floor drains traps are too shallow,(get a deeper ones) the water seal can easily evaporate and the smell problem will persist.
Please are you a plumber ur contact details please
Congrats to you both..
Great info!
Now that is a real mansion
congrats 🥳
Hi dude
I have been looking for you for a long time. Alexander from London
We worshiped in the same church
God is good. Good job.
Ok
What church was that?
Remind me please
Good to reconnect
Is there another tube/fitting that can be used instead of that flexible tube? It seems that tube because of the accordion shape anflexibilty can be prone to kinks which can trap water in the tube and create a smell from stagnant water
Most plumber I know don't install a trap for the basin. I'm not sure how these guys even asses their work. You have to tell them how to do their job. That gap that was causing the smell was the same poor job done for my kitchen.
Unfortunately the basins only come with flexible tubes
I’ve now got the guy to form a u shape P-trap style with the Flexi tube.
Congrats 🎊
Very good information
Can your please give us a full house tour
Thanks brother
Thank you for this information. Really helpful. We have the same problem in one of our bathrooms and despite calling out the plumber on several occasions, they have not been able to rectify the problem. Do you have a plumber that you would recommend? The property is in Tema. Thanks
Go to Bright and Clara's channel he shows solution to this problem.
If you take the strainer cover off the shower drain and don't see any water, then than is the problem. Can't say whether there is an issue with any other fixture without seeing it. I will be in Prampram next month. I am a master plumber and contractor.
@@zeplumber thank you. I’m in Ghana in July. Will you be around?
woow congrats xx
Can we know the cost from the Genesis to Revelation 🤔

Sorry guys I do like and watch your videos............ but the plumbing work is poor!!!!
Its not that bad, but could have been better - agree. All boils down to the artisan you get....

Congratulations 👏 I'm interested in your house plan and want to know how can I get a copy. The cost please
