    Hey brother, you're doing a great job spreading your message through your experiences. It takes a lot of courage for you to talk about your past. I hope this reaches those who can use your support. I stopped drinking over 3 years ago and it's amazing how clear your mind can be without alcohol.

    First of all, I just want you to know that I am praying for you and the regaining of your health. Your videos have been keeping me sober. The past couple of weeks, I have been very stressed, and the evil thoughts have been trying to invade. I quit on June 5th of this year because I started drinking in the mornings (on weekends) and I KNEW it would be just a matter of time that I would start drinking during the weekday mornings before work. I drank every night until I passed out but the thought of drinking before work, terrified me. Thank you for being candid and your selflessness is helping many people including me. I pray you will be able to get through your procedure in January with the least amount of pain possible. God bless you.

    Awhh. Ty. We ❤ you too. Can you possibly talk more about why you could not quit? Even when you might have known it was affecting your health and your family. I would like to have a better understanding why my parents continued to drink even though it was tearing the family apart emotionally and financially. Maybe through your life experiences some of the loved ones of alcoholics can have a better understanding and heal through your experience. Love you and stay strong. Thank you for sharing your very personal journey with everyone. It is channels like yours that are a part of what helps me in my journey of sobriety. I am 88 days sober and cigarette free today! I pray whatever damage I may have done to my body will be healed from this 180 degree turn in my life. I have completely changed my diet and eating habits, fast for 18 hours daily and have lost 15 lbs so far. I also fully committed myself to God and spend at least an hour every morning reading my Bible and spending time with Him. It has been the main reason I am able to do this.
    I will be praying for you next week. The 4th is my birthday so I will definitely be sure to pray for a successful surgery and swift recovery for you (and hopefully minimal pain). Keep on doing what you are doing - there are many people out here like myself, that truly appreciate it.
    God bless ✝️❤️🙌

    I’ve been praying for you brother. I really believe the Lord is going to keep you here for many more years to share your testimony and experience to help and witness to others.
    I developed an infection (from drinking) in my intestines that spread to my abdomen. It was extremely painful and I had to have an ileostomy. Fortunately it was able to be reversed. The GI doc had to remove a foot of my colon. The surgery and recovery were no fun but it sure did provide a ton of relief and pain hasn’t returned. Keep on moving forward and being thankful for each day you get with your wife and kids. God bless you and your family

    I’m really enjoying watching your videos (not trying in the sense that I’m enjoying your suffering, but in the sense that you speak well and reveal interesting truths about the human experience). I think RUclips recommended your initial video to me because I’m sort of in the sober curious stage of things. I’ve never gotten into trouble from drinking. I don’t drink every day, and I don’t drink in the morning or anything like that. I’ve commented before that my dad died of alcoholism, and he was very similar to you, and got taken out by one bender after a period of seeming to improve. My grandpa also died of alcoholism, under quite similar circumstances.
    My sister is an alcoholic who has been sober for about two years. Her health is good, but she experienced some really dark times. She is extremely adamant that it’s okay to drink around her, but your Christmas video has made me rethink doing so.
    I mean, in general, I’m rethinking drinking at all. I only do about twice a week, but I find it hard to stop once I start (at least if I’m in a situation where getting more takes no effort. If I buy two beers and then lay down in bed with my PJs on, there is no chance that I’ll go out for more, but if I go to a bar, all bets are off). I think the fact that I consistently drink twice a week even though I’ve wanted to stop 100% for more than a year is a sign that it’s not the right thing for me.

    Please make it through. 🙏🏿psalm 23
    A psalm of David.
    1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
    2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
    he leads me beside quiet waters,
    3 he refreshes my soul.
    He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
    4 Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,[a]
    I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.
    5 You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
    You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
    6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
    all the days of my life,
    and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

There have been things that I knew better than to eat, but did it anyway trying to be polite. I try and explain that I shouldn't eat certain things, but my families know that I really appreciate food and want me to try things. Especially new foods they have cooked. Thank you for the concern!
