One of the best modifications you can make to your GY6 engine is going from a stock CVK style carburetor to a PWK slide style carburetor. The difference in performance will blow your mind. Your GY6 will have better throttle response and acceleration. The CVK carburetor that is in your engine is not made for performance, but for fuel economy. The slide style carburetor is made purely for performance in mind! it just want to be opened up!
I received and installed my 26mm carb from Rolling Wrench for my 2022 Icebear Maddog (Gen 4). What a game changer! I noticed right off the bat that I instantly had a lot more acceleration. It's too early to tell if I have a speed increase. It's been raining 🌧 but I'll definitely test it out and let y'all know. I also purchased the clocking flange however I couldn't use it. It made the carburetor too tall and I couldn't close the seat but so far I haven't had any issues. Thanks Rolling Wrench 🔧!

I started experimenting with this a year ago! I wish you would talk more about the kitted 50cc though because here the Dakota territory we don't need plates or helmets so it can be easy to run about but we don't have a great service shop (me aside) so improvement is needed!
I hope you still wear a helmet though.
If you have a gy6 dont matter if you have a 150 or 50 most of the the stuff is the same

@@cav3man360 it will work but its best used with a performance metal naraku intake gasket spacer. Only beacuse the plastic one either crack enyway or end up mealting away if your tuneing. Just because the plastic intake space may get to hot and make a bad intake leak
@@philipproctor9132 Can you hook me up with a link to this metal intake gasket for a 50cc gy6? I can't find one only plastic. I've cracked like 4 of those spacers. I just use silicon or gasket maker but that's not for everyone
Video was very well done and informative! I do like my slide carb very much but would prefer to NOT polish the intake side for better atomization. But may not need the carb anyway! Waiting for that electric kit to hit the market!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Ive been running a Keihin 30mm Cvk and its been one of the best carbs ive ever had on my gy bike. If you jet it correctly you can get really good consistent performance outta them on a built engine. Never had and issue of my bike going lean at 70-80mph with them. Roll out speed is natrually a little slower on a cvk but it all depends on your cvt setup combined with the jetting and carb size.
is your engine stock and if not what mods did you do?

Did you get it installed? I was told not to use a 28mm but use a 26mm instead.
the problem with porting and polishing the fuel side of the carburetor is you're not breaking up the fuel as much. polishing the air side is great. but you would want the fuel side a little rough that way the fuel gets broken up more as it enters the combustion chamber so it burns more fully. kinda like pouring a little gasoline on the ground lighting it on fire it's gonna burn for a couple seconds and go out. now spray fuel from a bottle and light it as your spraying it. it's gonna burn for fraction of a second and be gone. same concept with carburetors.
Their is so much vac it atomizes instantly I have huge doubts on that theory I guess will never know

@@KaptainKruiser if you were to pour some water into an empty pan on your stovetop, you would see a few large drops dancing around as they slowly boiled away. If you instead sprayed the water from a bottle in a controlled mist, the small droplets would evaporate almost instantly.
Polishing isn't beneficial period. Think of a golf ball. Polishing just sells because it is pretty.
WoW, You guys should go talk to some engine builders for $100,000 Formula 1 intakes. Or manybe a NASCAR or Sprint Car engine builder. Tell them about how their polished intakes are foolish and completely wrong.

I have a pz19 pit bike carb on a gy6 with a 70cc bbk. So much better than a cv carb. Doesn't get clogged as easy, some clogs can be sucked through by using the choke and when you need to clean it comes off and apart faster.

I like motorcycles and I would like your opinion on choosing a 125 cc motorcycle over a 150 cc scooter. I understand that one can be more practical than another, I think it depends on the needs and perspectives of each person and what can be better for daily life. people and friends have told me that the GYN 6 doesn't last, I don't know much about it. I bought a scooter with one of your carbs on it but it's missing that top support for the throttle cable. So it's shredding itself on the hole in the cap. Can I buy one of these? I was looking at cables on your website but they didn't seem to have that little support

I've been looking into velocity stack intakes for gy6 lately, but I noticed the inlet on these are tapered like one already, how do you think it would run if you were to go without the intake and filter just find a bit of mesh to go over the inlet?

Don’t use grease! Transmission fluid is best to lube all throttle friction points,grease will eventually foul and create a sticky throttle . Super thank you for content and efforts…
The grease we use is a light weight grease for bicycles. Works wonders! We have been doing this for years. Thanks for the support

i have a piaggio zip 4t with an 80cc kit on it i tested it with an 24mm cvk carb and the top speed was 85km/h but the throttle response is indeed slow. my question is what size pwk can i fit on it ? because i dont see any information for an piaggio zip 4t engine

What could be causing some popping and bogging at 2/3 - 3/4 throttle on a 150cc GY6 scooter? Can you think of anything electrical that can be.causing this? I've already installed 3 new carburetors, 3 different csi boxes, different coil wires, and a couple other things and I can't seem to get rid of it. Can you help me please?
What size carburetor do you recommend for the 2003 Polaris predator 90 2 stroke ATV with no air box just a filter and after market full tuned pipe and muffler. My son try to change the Jets in the carburetors and snapped off the head of one of the Jets and then he misplaced the carburetor so now we got to find a carburetor and figure out the jetting we live in Toledo Ohio elevation 650 ft above sea level. This isnt a carb question but im in the middle of getting a scooter m.o t as in england and ive purchased mew forl legs as tubes really rusty and seals gone. but the nut at the very top of the tube is a larger diameter than the tube. is this just so the fork dosnt drop as i thought the top bolt did that by sitting in the groove...

You can run a way bigger carb. I recommend up to 32 on even a stock gy6. I'm running an a9 cam with 32mm carb (damn near stock) and she loves it., Also that leaves 2" that u can run a nice pipe for your air filter (long tube cold air intake)

One thing to keep in mind as I mentioned in the video. Elevation plays a huge roll in the size of carb you can use. For instance: people in Florida can run a 30mm carburetor on a 150cc. Us up here in Colorado can’t even run a 30mm on a 190cc. The reason for my recommendation is because it’s good to be universal. What if a Florida dude takes his bike to the small bore rally in Tennessee ? The bike won’t run. So yes, depending on your elevation you can run a bigger carb. Just keep that in mind

@@davesnothereman7987 28mm is what I recommend. But you can run a 30. However with a 30 you won’t have as snappy of a throttle as with a 28
I found 24mm to give me great gains. I also tried a 26mm and found it a little rough in the transitions despite configuration. elevation makes a huge difference. Live at 6500ft
I just installed a new flat slide today. (Take it from me, DO NOT buy the cheap carbs online. They're somehow worse than their reputation.) It was $30 and it's trash but for the 20 minutes that it worked, it freaking WORKED. Now it just pukes fuel out the overflow. Gonna order a new one next week.

I know this video is kind of old. But I recently got a coolster 175cc. It's a 2024 version. The carburetor isn't so good in my opinion. Sometimes doesn't want to start up. I have to give it a little throttle to start up. Would this solve the problem?

Hey I just ordered the 28 pro for a 177 cc go kart. It’s the vitacci Batman model. The website says the throttle cable won’t fit. I measured mine. It’s 121”. I’m concerned my current cable won’t fit the slide. Will it fit the new carb or where do I find a new cable. I searched the web but can’t find out. Thanks

Just out of curiosity is the EFI kit dead? The reason why I'm asking is cuz I live in Grand junction. I'm sure you know where that's at. I bought a brand new buggy that I would like to take up to the Mesa carbureted things don't like to run up there that great and I'm so sick and tired of messing with Jets and carburetors. I'm a computer guy I would much rather plug in a computer.
HELP. Just got my carb. Put it in, gas is coming over over flow tube when I try to start. Lost almost a full tank trying to figure it out idk what I'm doing. Is it the jets or is it because air is blowing through the manifold because it's not fitting right?

So.. how does one go about using this on an engine that has an electric choke? I have a 2021 Ice Bear Malibu 150 with a GY6.. I am assuming its got an E Choke because I do not have to choke it to start it.. is it possible or do you guys sell a carb compatible with E Choke or do i need to some how delete the E Choke and go manual??? Im still wet behind the ears when it comes to this stuff.. Im teaching myself everything VIA youtube. Im looking to add a little extra umph to my scoot.
