I was so excited to see the Brenner pottery. He was my 8th grade art teacher in Avon Park, Florida. I got an A in his class! His name is Gene Brenner and he passed away from cancer a few years ago. He had a pottery shop in Sebring, Florida called Brenner Pottery and my niece worked there, I sent her your video and she recognized the piece you have from his store!
The best way to get a cake out of a Bundt pan is to butter the pan and then dust it with flour and tap out the excess. Then when it has finished baking wait 8 to 10 minutes before taking it out of the pan
Yes, I am still friends with my high school bestee. We've been best friends for 47 years. It is amazing how that subscriber found all that information. That's wonderful! It was good to see another thrifting video!
We love to go thrifting too, found a beautiful bouquet of silk flowers for 9.00. I’m allergic to flowers ( asthma) so these flowers are perfect for me,lol. Love the treasurers you find,I think I enjoy your thrifting videos the best as well as the cleaning, gardening, and diy.......... ......... you’re fantastic Sofia.
I met one of my close friends at pre-school, when I was 4, and another 2 close friends at school when I was 11. I am now aged 57. Their support has been amazing over the years.
Oh hey Sophia, I was also going to say, in addition to the good advice of butter or Crisco then flouring the bundt pan first to get the cake to release, I'm thinking the very high amount of sugar is turning into a softball candy in the trough, and you might need to bake it the full amount of time to allow the sugar to harden a little more. Lots of times, bundt cake recipes will specify that you should cook until the edges of the cake release from the pan..which would allow that crust to harden a little bit. Then your glaze would moisten the crust sufficiently. In my experience, Nordicware pans are a leading brand and are very good to high quality.
Happy 21st Anniversary to you both. I hope you had a great day. OMG, the look on Scott’s face - I burst out laughing - it was priceless. I like looking through our thrift stores too, except we call them Opportunity (or Op) Shops in Australia. It is amazing what you can find. I also love looking on Facebook Marketplace too. Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing your garden update soon. Love from Down Under 😘💕
You need to make what it's called Cake Release, 1/2 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of cooking oil, 1/2 cup of shortening. Mix in your mixer well then use a basting brush and paint it on your pan very well. Refrigerate the remaining cake release . This will last month's in the fridge. I use this all the time on thin aluminum cake pans and never had a problem. Hope this helps you!
Loved Scott's look in car about thrifting! As far as cake, I think it's your pan too. Buy a good one if you are planning on making more bundt cakes. A good one will last forever & along with grease & flour, your cake should slip right out.
Lets start with Scott------hahahahahaha!!!!!! When you picked up the variegated purple vase I was telling you___take it, take it!!! So glad you did.The Fenton vase was breathtaking so glad you have it too.
Spray bunt pan liberally with baker’s joy spray and when you take it out the oven set a timer for 10 minutes which gives it time to come away from pan but not enough for it to make moist which will make it stick too!❤️
I thought it was Swedish! My grandfather's parents were from Sweden. After Amanda died relatives came to pick over her things. One, in a very thick accent, rejected a cup because it had a "ship" on it. My grandmother thought, "I don't remember her dishes having any ship design." 😏 These old stories stick with you so now my family always refers to chips on dishes as "ships."
If you haven't found out yet, the purple vase is Di Carlo and it's beautiful! I adore enamel bowls and can never find one without a damaged place on it. Great haul.
Hello from Judith in UK. My goodness ,,, we are going thrifting, and you are coming with me,,,, sounded much more like a threat than an invitation. Loved it . It did not cost me anything. 💕To all
I so love how you guys cook a lot, and eat leftovers, I miss those days , empty nest and I don’t eat a lot , hubby likes eating out but it is so expensive, so I don’t.
Has the cast iron piece sold yet? I'd love that and the fork spoon and knife pottery holder??? Love that! Thanks for offering such unique pieces Sophia! I agree goodwill has been having lots of junk lately. I have been liking Salvation Army and savers...also those small neighborhood shops are lovely too! Free is always nice! 😁💐
You got some great pieces. I would love to have that pink Fenton vase but I'm sure it's out of my price range. I would have gotten that Traditional Home book and I saw a lovely cream silk pillow I would have grabbed also. I love tea pots and cups so I would have filled a cart with those alone. lol Good thing I don't go thrift shopping more or my house would look like a hoarder house. What can I say...I like beautiful things. As for your bundt pan issue, maybe you just to need to use a different pan, like a square or 8" x 11".
I find good things at my goodwill. On every day I find good things but there have been times when I have found quite a bit, I just try to go every day or every other day if I have the time to check things out. I found it my Goodwill that Mondays are usually when a lot of things get picked over and then the rest of the week. You don't really have the great stuff unless you go in there Restocking.
Should have left Scott home to do all the cleaning. Next time you went thrift he would jump at the opportunity to go with you. You are a hard working woman Happy Anniversary I hope you get spoilt.
We've tried different spaghettis (garbanzo, black bean, lentil, etc) - and I was really surprised with the yellow lentil, I believe it was - it wasn't much different from regular, and def doable regularly.
Have you and Scott watched Wanda Vision (Marvel Series) ? I image the boys might like it too? Bob and I enjoyed it. I think there will be a season 2 soon.
Please sophia have Edward get his license..I'm 44 yrs old just yesterday I passed my written now scheduled for on the wheel testing.never took time to care now I regret it it's a necessity.
Thank you Sophia! Long hard day at work and emotional trauma today has been a LOT! Like, nuclear contamination level!! I needed a nice thing to indulge in!

Lol!
Look on Scott's face at the beginning was priceless. Loved watching Lee Majors.
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL AND THE WAY YOU FILM. I ALWAYS FEEL LIKE I'M AT YOUR HOME VISITING WITH YOU! 🥰
My mother used to do baking profesionally, she said you need to use "Butter" to greese the pan and then flour it in order to stop from sticking.

Yes, that's it Sophia.
Scott's expression - aaahhhh, priceless :) Happy anniversary!

I'm super interested in the pink vase as well. Can't wait for you to list it!😀
Fun chit chat , babe. Thanks for taking me along thrifting.
I met one of my close friends at pre-school, when I was 4, and another 2 close friends at school when I was 11. I am now aged 57. Their support has been amazing over the years.
Thank you for posting, Sophia! I love the vicarious thrill ofnseeing what you find!
💐 WOW! I live in S. Calif. and your thrift stores remind me of antique shops here! 😊
Grease pan and cut wax paper for bottom of pan, pressing in. My grandma's tip.
That will work for sure! Run a knife around the edge!

The cast iron dish is from Klafreström bruk in southern Sweden. (Modern spelling Klavreström) Iron works from 1736 until 1970.
I thought it was Swedish!

So fun ! I was watching thinking ooh- I want that. I imagine everyone saw things for their own collections.

The editing is off the charts! Love it
I knew thats why I like you - I loved the 6 million dollar man ! 😂
You must smear your pan first with butter, and line it afterwards with baking paper, sprayed with 'spray and cook' :)

I agree goodwill has been having lots of junk lately. I have been liking Salvation Army and savers...also those small neighborhood shops are lovely too! Free is always nice! 😁💐
I did not put it up for sale yet. I am so behind.

Hi Sophia and Scott, "l'homme qui valait 3 MILLIARDS", not cheap !
Brenner pottery in Florida? Love pottery!
Love Scott’s humour lol!
Baking non-stick: maybe butter the pan and shower with bread crumbs alternatively line with baking paper.
We've tried different spaghettis (garbanzo, black bean, lentil, etc) - and I was really surprised with the yellow lentil, I believe it was - it wasn't much different from regular, and def doable regularly.
Hi Sophia… would love a tutorial on how to price items for the Marketplace?
Hi Sophia. You continue to be inspirational. Thx.
Goodwill prices are outrages!
Happy 😊 Anniversary !!💜
I love the pink vase 💞 How much?
The Klaferstrom is from the 1950s but still old and still beautiful
I saw that on Facebook that she found so much info and so fast!! It must be one of her super powers like 6 Million dollar man.
We love you too Sophia! More than you know❤
You have to grease the pan with Crisco and then flour it,
Have you and Scott watched Wanda Vision (Marvel Series) ? I image the boys might like it too? Bob and I enjoyed it. I think there will be a season 2 soon.

It s not that easy to do in NJ with covid right now. We even got a moratorium on registrations.
I didn't have my driver's license until I was 20. I forgot about that. I forget a lot of things. I'm 64. 🤭
