  • Keir Starmer has said that he is going to have to make tough decisions and "make them early" in his first news conference as UK prime minister.
He said that prisons are an obvious example of an issue that needs to be addressed, "where other parts of the system are broken".
On Saturday he chaired a cabinet meeting for the first time in Downing Street in which he said a "huge amount of work" was under way.

People complaining that he's too dull and boring. A charismatic politician is the last thing this country need. We've had enough of the toxic spectacle and entertainment. This is exactly what we need, a boring government, no showmanship just doing the job exactly as it needs to.

Basically this is reality and the uk knows, we are not in the 2000s, early 2010s anymore. Where our future is going to look bright. Maybe it will happen. Its a different page. And both know we are on the same page, even though there is distrust and hate and indifference. Just hope that as we are out the EU, idk why but we can make it better. That's what I want to see.

Travelling to Washington on Tuesday with a tour of the UK the day after the interview. You don't have to like him, that's your decision but he has laid out a more concrete plan than anything in recent history. Weather he delivers is yet to be seen.
