- From Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star. Ryuuga is Yuria's older brother and serves Ken-Oh in his conquest. This is the first time Kenshiro and Ryuuga meet and we the deadly style of the lone wolf, Taizan Tenrou Ken.

It's a shame his time in the series was so short, as he really had potential as a character.
It would had been interesting to see him interacting with Yuria or Juuza, why mention he was related to them if it never mattered in the story, sadly I think Ryuuga was mostly wasted as a character.

Other spin off like raoh series gave him more shine and interact with his half brother along with the juuza manga spinoff where they show ryuga helping juuza in the past also they fight each other

Because Taizan Tenrou Ken spares the enemy from mockery like "wait 30 seconds, you will break your spine by yourself" or "you make a lovely couple".
I'm pretty sure Ken doesn't think the style sucks, I think he means it's terrifying.
I think he refers to the history of Taizan Tenrou Ken. While Hokuto was an Assasination technique for pacifist monks, and Nanto was the Emperors personal guards, Taizan was created to serve politically ambitious people, and their "temples" were basically stores to hire, train, and buy super powered kungfu bodyguards, hitmen, and thugs. Also why a large amount of street thugs happen to know some of the techniques.

Funny how languages work. In my native language, terrible still retains the original Latin meaning, i.e. horrible/vicious/terrifying/fearsome, so the translation made perfect sense. Then scrolling the comments I thought: why is everybody asking if Ken Shiro said the technique sucked? lol I had to Google to understand that in English terrible means of poor quality.

To this day, I still have no idea why none of those guys tried to run. After seeing the first dude getting scooped like ice cream, you'd think one of them would have the idea to just book it out of there before Ken and Ryuuga noticed.

I like Arc Sys, but it was a dumb of them not to include this character in the HNK fighting game. A char using iced based attacks would have made for an interesting playing style(Similar to Kenshin in Sengoku Basara X).

This guy (as almost everything in HnK) was the inspiration for one of Saint Seiya's character: Crystal Saint, and the name "Ryuuga" sounds pretty similar to Hyoga

Normally anyone with a Taizan style is fist-fodder meant to make Kenshiro (or someone else like Juuza) look cool. Ryuga and Uighur are the only Tazanshi Kenpo users who aren't complete weaklings.

This is not me criticizing Kenshiro, by the way. Some of my favorite moments in the anime series are when he's being a troll to some total monsters and making them look like clowns before he kills them. All the same.
