Let me know in the comments your faves.

    YESSSSSS, Spellbook of the Lost and Found is a great witchy read!! Like, I was surprised at how much I loved it. Without a doubt, it's already in my top 5 reads for this year, if not number 1 TBQH. If you haven't listened to the audiobook version, I would highly recommend that you do. It's read by a full cast of Irish women, and all of the narrators were so good!!

    • @PagesandPens
      @PagesandPens  5 лет назад +1

      Spellbook was fantastic! I can't believe I waited so long to read it but am so excited I finally got to it. Ooooh, if I ever do a reread I will totally listen to it.

    Recommendation for you is “ The discovery of Witches” by Deborah Harkness!!! It’s a trilogy and now a television series 🤩🤩 it’s very historical and a deep read but soooo worth the time. There are witches, vampires and daemons

    • @PagesandPens
      @PagesandPens  5 лет назад +3

      I've read the trilogy but don't get the channel that the show is on. I liked the books but I didn't LOVE the books. They're really good though for historical reads, which I don't typically enjoy.

  • @redblack5480
    @redblack5480 5 лет назад +1

    Also a fan of The Hollows. So nice to see someone talking about it on BT. I would recommend, "Wither" by John Passarella. A witch channels the wrong creature and her life gets interesting. Highly recommend. Passarella usually writes TV companion novels for X-Files, Buffy, Grim, and Supernatural. Wither is a departure and it is worth your time. Hope you enjoy.

    I would highly recommend the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews. It's more of an adult read and definitely has a family element to it. Plus it's written by a husband and wife team which I think is kinda cool. Also, for a longer series, their Kate Daniels books are great. They're the same genre as the Hollows series and are set in a world that is stuck between magic and science/technology so sometimes you can drive a car and other times you have to ride a horse because the tech isn't working. I love the series and it has sexy time scenes so that's a bonus!

    • @PagesandPens
      @PagesandPens  5 лет назад

      I've heard nothing but amazing things about Ilona Andrews and still have yet to try any of their books. I'll have to give them a try. Okay...Kate Daniels HAS to happen. Making my list now. Thank you for the recs.

    I liked practical magic and rules of magic but Magic Lessons was my absolute favorite! It’s was so good and I loved the vibe and remedies throughout. I also liked the Book of Magic, sad that series is over. Thanks so the video, I can’t wait to pick these up!

    • @PagesandPens
      @PagesandPens  5 лет назад +1

      It's really not that bad. I'm a big baby and some parts were a little eerie-especially the audio, but it was manageable.

    • @JashanaC
      @JashanaC 5 лет назад

      I think maybe it's the audiobook that does it for people? HaHa -- bc that's what I've mostly heard talked about, as far as the creepy factor. Methinks I shall simply avoid that and read the physical book. :D

    I am not a huge Urban fantasy reader but I loved the Fever series. I might check out The Hollows series because sometimes you just crave the urban fantasy setting.

    • @PagesandPens
      @PagesandPens  5 лет назад +1

      The fever series is another good one. It has magic but I wouldn't say witches--but I agree...I enjoy it. The Hollows series is GREAT and has less sex. haha.

    Oh wow, the Sweep series (or Wicca series as it's known in the UK) brings back so many reading memories for me. I read them when I was first getting into reading and remember reading them in the playground at school, on the slide in the back garden, under the covers by the light of my DS at 2am on a school night. I will definetly re-read them at some point. I also really need to get around to The Wicked Deep.
