    Awwww..... Nongpoh is well known to me because of The best bamboo shoot prickles available there. I always ask my friends to bring me pickles from Nongpoh..

    Hello dear sister. I have a favor to ask, could you please tell me the specific names of the ingredients that's written in the pickle powder packet coz the one ( pickle powder) you mentioned isn't available in our state Tripura. BTW I'd like to learn how to make dohjem and many other delicious khasi,jaintia cuisines from you with your consent. Afterall Meghalaya is a wonderful place, I enjoyed my time in your state.

    Hi there, when soaking the bamboo shoot in water ... should salt be added to the water ? Or is it just plain water and bamboo shoot in the bottle ?

    I really really love bamboo shoot . My father brings bamboo shoots form jungle and actually there are different kind of taste form different bamboo. Some bamboo are less bitter when even raw i u will not know.

      If you add mustard oil as its main preservative then you can use it for 6 months

      For fermenting we use plastic bottle and for the pickle we have store it in the glass bottle

      No need to change water but make sure that bambooshoot gets submerged completely with water . if u want the pickle early you can make pickle out of these fermented bambooshoot even after one month or one week also its ok

      Yes you can keep the bambooshoot in the plastic bottle for fermentation.
      If u want the pickel early you can cook it after one month of fermentation

    Before keeping in the bottle do we need to boiled or just ferment raw

      Ferment raw and then fry.
      Watch the video poperly till the end

    Your pickle looks tasty. I'll try this. And for the fresh bamboo shoots I'll like to suggest you cooked for a long time and change the water twice so that you'll not get the bitter taste. Try it👍

    Meghalaya pickles are mostly fried. Yeah, it's tasty but we prefer to eat the raw fermented pickles with ghost chilli.

    Doesn't bamboo shoot contain cyanide? That's why you have to boil them before consuming. But the Naga bamboo or siej Naga doesn't need boiling it's the safest of the bamboo shoot to eat.
