Robert you are a blessing! I understand if you need to move to patreon to make these daily uploads financially viable but I do hope these can stay up for free! Not only is it enjoyable to watch after a long day of work but like you said there are some good nuggets here and there. If it's just the comments getting to you don't worry about it. All you can do is tell people the info is in the description and thats it. Think about it like a warning sign...Theres gonna be some people that ignore it and well you just can't fix stupid XD. The reason my single owner 850T didnt end up in the scrapper is because I watch your videos that helped me keep this thing going! My 850 has even taken priority over my track built c30 cause they just don't make Volvos like they used to. I'll be it redblocks will always reign supreme those things can survive an apocalypses with no complaints while my 850 acts like a brat and c30 acts like a princess but figure the maintenance is money better spent than a new or modern used car,
Also love how you spoke about the paycheck to paycheck life. While I've got a decent career with a good pay I've been on the unfortunate side of two layoffs within a year. Currently struggling to manage my savings while looking for a new job and pretty much everything on my car is overdue. Despite that I'm happy to spend the money to keep this car going because surely there is no where I can get a car that will last another 10 years for $1700(cost in parts) 95 850 barely approaching 200k and I know it can make it to 400 with the way i care for it! Seeing other 25 year olds with huge monthly payments and tons of issues makes me feel so fulfilled to work on my own car and save tons of money on even the simplest job. My mechanic quoted 700 for brake hose replacement and fluid flush and I was shocked...
These daily videos get very little views after 30 days. Then people find them looking for instructions so I feel they are more in the way than anything.
Yes mechanics are charging a lot these days for fix basic stuff. It's tough out there. A lot of mechanics are opting to do basic maintenance on newer vehicles and just saying NO to fixing stuff on cars older than 20 years old. Even if they have a history with the customer. They don't like breaking stuff and having to find a part to fix it. More time then they want to spend.
Those darn sunroofs. Not fun at all to work on. Esp. on a sedan.
