Hi. I had the same issue connecting my watch to Galaxy Watch Studio. Apparently some watches run on something called Tizen, which is for Galaxy watch studio, and my watch and i'm assuming yours run on Wear OS. Leaving this here incase someone in the future has a similiar issue. You can find which one your watch is running in the setting under About watch.
@@luceferous-lucy-michelle I have the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. I've tried various watch faces including the background image. I also have the S20 phone. I imagine the animated background images are probably also made using the same kind of software. Interesting.
Hi Luce, thank you very much for sharing this video with us! It's nice to see how you try and change again and again to find the best arrangement for you ;-) That makes the video so honestly and unique. I'm planing to create my own watch face but up to now without an idea. Formerly I owned a Huawei where I could use an app Facemaker developed by a single person from Portugal. Now I changed to a Samsung Watch 5 pro and like to create an own watch face, too. It's great that Samsung offers such a program for free. I'm astonished that the prog seems to be so unknown and used only very few (imo). Cheers from Germany, Michael
Yes! Until I made the video, I did not see many other videos of people using the free software. It is so amazing they provide it and I could play with my designs. Hope you enjoy making your own design! Grüße aus London 😄
The proccess of connecting your PC to your watch changed if your watch is on Android 13 or higher and it took me a sec to figure out, so heres what i did: When you click the plus, youll be given more options than just the IP. Youll be given IP Address, IP Port, Pairing Number, and Pairing Port. The IP Address is the same and the IP Port is as it displays on the Wireless Debugging menu. Once you've typed those in, click "Pair New Device" or whatever it says and then enter the new port number (after the :) as the Pairing Port and enter the pairing code as shown Hope this helps
Thank you for your insight! This is a slightly outdated tutorial by now so this is immensely helpful for anyone finding the video recently :) I should get round to making a newer version with some of the bits people want to see from the comments 😄
Thank you for making this video. I will definitely be using it to help me recreate a Samsung Watch Face that I'm no longer able to download for some reason. I especially appreciate the last bit about how to get the watch face onto your watch. I'm assuming it will stay on your watch once its transferred so you can switch between faces. Great design you made btw.
Thank you! I need to be approved by Samsung to have it on the store I think, but happy to sell the assets if you wanted to set up the face for yourself :)
Hello! I love the design you made for your Watch. I've tried to recreate it following your steps second by second lol and got lost when you went from black and white to color. I spent nearly 1h drawing those cute fishes and realised I had to start all over again because I had been filling them with black. Then when you were coloring you would be switching between the peach background and the grey background. Could you please do some quick Photoshop tutorial about your workflow? 👧 Thanks a lot and I love your channel! xx
I guess that would be a tutorial for my Photoshop workflow in general? I tend to have the same process every time ☺ Haven't done much on this channel in a while but I hope I have time in the future to explore videos like this, thank you x
Love this video! I just got a watch 5 and this video inspired me to make a Kiki's Delivery Service watch face. Do you have any recommendations for free animation programs?
As a newbie to the tool myself, I just went for a general overview of my full design process rather than an in depth tutorial :) If there is enough demand, I could make a proper tutorial of using Samsung's tool. What would you like to see more of?
Gracias, tienes un nuevo suscriptor. Estaría muy bien si hicieras un tutorial más detallado de cómo hacer una nueva carátula Thank you, you have a new subscriber. It would be great if you did a more detailed tutorial on how to make a new watchface from the begining.
Thank you for this tutorial @luceferous ! Could you walk us through the process of exporting these design files to sell on a marketplace? Thank you again.
Such a well-laid overview! Thank you. Does the Watch face studio allow generating apk or installable file of any sort so that it can be published on playstore? Watchface development just got my interest and I was wondering if it would require me to do some coding to be able to publish.
Thanks for watching! Currently, I can't answer your question in much detail as I'm not sure myself. However it looks like Samsung has a page that might be of more help developer.samsung.com/watch-face-studio/user-guide/build.html
Hi Everyone, IF you own a Galaxy Watch 6, you will have to pair up both the phone and Watch Face to the same wifi network, follow the instructions provided here by Lucy, then in the pairing settings, you will have to enter the Ip Address, IP Port, Code, and Port code. All those settings can be found in the watch by going to the wifi settings, clicking on pair new device. It took me a few attempts to get it, but once you do, it will successfully show your designs on your watch
Hey, what sort of problems are you having? If you follow how I connect in the video it *should* work but I did have to try a few times and tried restarting both my watch and computer for good measure. Let me know! Will try and help more if I can
Hello again, I already saw what the error is, when putting debugging ADB the option was active "Debugging by Wifi", just disable that, and you won't have that problem, thank you very much 🤘🏻
@@alfredojg23 oh interesting, I think it worked fine for me with it on but it might not be the case for some! Thanks for sharing in case someone else has a similar issue 😄

My Samsung Watch 4 uses Watch Face Studio but I think for Watch 3 and earlier you need to use Galaxy Watch Studio. Could that be where your problem is?
Is this on the Always-On tab? It should still show all the same image layers as on the Normal tab, and I just hide them using the eye icon on the right of the text if that makes sense? I think the first time I tried, I accidently deleted all my images rather than hiding them. Sorry if I am misinterpreting your question!
I don't know much about them but I think they are specifically an Apple based format? I can't imagine Samsung would want to add any file compatibility in their tools 😂 If you wanted to extract any images from the file, it looks like you could do it via an iPhone

Yes! This is called the operating system. Samsung started using Wear OS from the Galaxy Watch 4, anything made before that uses Tizen OS.
