Its a great journey, but you watch some of the quick guys and realise how far there is to go! 😬
I think you’re accelerating too much coming to the 2nd apex of the chicanes, causing you to have to brake again and delay getting on throttle. Try and aim to be on throttle by the time you get to the second apex. Advice that helped me with chicanes was “make them as straight as possible and look through them as far as you can”
Hope that helps! Great video 🙂
Thank you, that makes sense, i did wonder if i might not be being patient enough with that part!
Think I came across you in one of the races
Hopefully we had some good clean racing! I enjoyed Oulton park apart from struggling a bit with it
I think we did can’t quite remember. Yeah and I also struggled at that track will have to get together could learn off of each other only been racing for 3 months
Yeah that sounds like a good idea!

Nice video man!! About the slow conners try to trail brake a lil more let your brake pedal go al little slower when I see it now on your input you let your brake come up to fast again. What also can help to get the car rotating a little better is put the brak bias more to the back of the car.
also a question from me what pc specs are you running for the vr? im now driving on screens but want to give vr a try as well.
Thanks for the pointer! Do you think i am unsettling the car by coming off the brakes too fast? I guess that makes sense though as anything too abrupt will not help i guess!
Specs wise i am running a 7800x3d CPU, a 4070super GPU with 32gb DDR5 ram, using an oculus quest two locked to 80fps and max resolution on the quest too, its plenty smooth enough imo, i have a psvr2 for the ps5 that ill be trying next week when the pcvr adaptor is released as i know the quest 2 isnt the greatest headset these days.
Note that i am running OBS to record so that takes some performance headroom too from the VR
Once i went VR and am used to it i cant go back to flat screens now, takes a bit of getting used to feeling for buttons and stuff but well worth it!
@@AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx yes I think that’s is the problem when you go of slower the car stays Turning a little better so you can go full throttle faster the guys in front of you do this and that’s why the oder guys gain on you in that slower corners
Thanks again for that! I’ll give it a go! Had never really thought that could be the issue! Im all about smooth inputs but just hadn’t considered the release of those inputs needing to be smooth if that makes sense!
@@AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx always something to learn right if you realy want to go into debt with technics in sim racing the course of suelio almeide can be help full also his RUclips videos are educational good luck!!
I think you are being very harsh on yourself. Practice, Practice and some more Practice between races. Focus on exit speed and lap time will follow. Also watch the faster guys on replay for lines they are taking but ignore thier braking markers. To be honest man, you are driving well. Have fun and don't focus on irating....it will be a roller-coaster no matter what. Goodluck!
Thanks bud, some sage advice there I feel, its all too easy to get wrapped up in lap times and forget to have fun!!
I'm not good at all in simracing, but I have watched a lot of Suellios videos and based on what I have learned from them I think you should downshift faster and let the engine scream in those slow corners.
Doesn’t the anti downshift thing kick in if you do it too early? I see folk on GT7 banging it down to 1st at stupid speeds!
@@AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx yes, but it seems to me that you are far away from that and could downshift faster in those slow corners. I haven't driven the ferrari gt3 yet so I don't know how fast you can downshift with it but generally you should downshift as fast as possible without enabling the anti downshift system. You can try to downshift faster and find the limit in solo sessions and see if that makes you faster.
here is a link to one of Suellios videos where he talks about engine braking and why fast downshifting is better.

Thanks, ill take a look at the link, I like his videos!!
@@AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx I would also recommend to watch replays of faster drivers and pay attention to their racing lines. By doing this I've found a lot of time becouse I haven't always realised where the track limits are. It seems to me that you could use at least one tire width more of the track in some corners. Hope this helps.
I also think that the understeering you're getting is due to too much turning with the steering wheel in corner entry. At that point of the corner you should be getting most of the rotation from engine braking and trailbraking and only 1-5% steering with the wheel should be enough. Idk about the Ferrari GT3 but in the mx5 you can literally go 1% (or less) steering in some high speed corners and it's also fun because it almost feels like you're flying thru the corner.
