I find them odd actually, because they are wider and shorter than a standard shipping container. And the corners are bolted together, whereas a container is a fully welded unit. The only resemblance, is the corner lifting/securing holes, which only seem to be decorative, with no functional use ...
@britinz4305 Your spot on. I was having a close inspection of one and found the corner posts are all bolted together with nuts and bolts making them easy to dismantle and move if thats required. I dont know about the size difference compared to a real shipping container but appear spacious for what they are. Maybe its a take from the container house boom they are trying to cash in on. The corner lifting holes are actually functional. When fully assembled, these units can be lifted by crane. The wall panels have 50mm Rockwood insulation and the ceiling as well while a real shipping container has 0 insulation.
