My Visit To Chronoswiss: Watchmaker of the Past & Future | Armand The Watch Guy

  • In today's video, I would like to recount a very memorable trip to Chronoswiss in Lucerne in Switzerland where I had the privilege to witness the creation of these timepieces. This is a relatively young yet incredibly interesting brand in terms of producing watches in a more personal way than certain alternatives with their classically correct yet rather futuristic Régulateur.

Armand ,Congratulations on being invited to ChronoSwiss. Your work truly deserves the recognition of your fellow horological community. So well done once again. Picturesque , beautifully designed and superbly crafted generational timepieces in a equally timeless part of the world. I'm truly glad you had this opportunity - and we all appreciate you sharing it with us. 👍.

Armond, Mr. Armond 😁 excuse please. I'm in a nursing home and I must say that your well produced and great video work bring me so much joy and happiness. I have been skirting this brand of watch for some time and with no good reason other than I just don't know anything about them. Thank you so much for this opportunity to see Chronoswiss watch group and some of there really nice watchs. This kind of watch production seems to get lost any more. Chronoswiss love and belief in where they are going give me peace of mind again in Swiss watch making. Thanks again sir for another job well done.

+Robert Woods: Thank you very much for your kind words, I appreciate them greatly. I must confess that I was even more impressed that I could have imagined with the sheer dedication which those at Chronoswiss are able to put into their watches whilst their craftsmen are nothing less than world-class. I hope that my videos continue to be of interest to you and continue to give enjoyment.

Terrific video about a brand that deserves attention. I have the great pleasure of owning a Chronoswiss. I can attest that these watches are a thing of horological beauty and no video can capture that. I find myself immersed in the beauty of my Chronoswiss and am truly amazed at its detail, particularly under a jewelers loop-not a single flaw!

Thank you for showcasing this unique brand . The different format and content of the video were quite a shock first thing in the morning! As a regular viewer I have to say, you have stepped up you're game and the quality of you're presentation puts you above most other watch channels in my opinion.

Long before I became a watch enthusiast, I was fortunate enough to visit Lake Lucerne during a tour of Europe in 1994, a year after the covered bridge caught fire. Fortunately, the bridge had been fully restored at the time of my visit. It was that visit that started my long love affair with the country of Switzerland. Being that I was only 11 at the time says something about the impact that City can have. I'm so happy you got a chance to visit it and take in it's Majestic scenery, captivating architecture, classical art, and I'm sure you got to interact with the wonderful people that live there. If anyone reading these comments is thinking about planning a trip to Switzerland, I highly suggest starting in Lucerne. And if you get the chance, take the ferry over to Mount Pilatus where one will take a trolley ride up the steep slopes of the mountain. I will never forget that trip. And just as good, the trip down via a ski lift is just breathtaking enough to forget that I have a fear of heights LOL. Thanks again Armand for another great video. This one definitely has peaked my interest in the brand

Extremely beautiful watches, the older models with ETA’s were more accessible, yet the newer models are pieces of art which are little known by the watch community. ChronoSwiss are icons of high quality👌❤️👍. I’ve had a chance having one in my hands: shear beauty! Hats off 🎩 to your video ! 👌

Superb video Armand and nice to see you again too. Certainly look much nicer than offerings at a similar price point who's name ends in 'ex'. The dials are works of art in themselves let alone the fabulous horology.
I used to snear at regulator styled watches with separate dials for the hours minutes and seconds, however on a dress watch this adds a great level of interest. It may take a few seconds longer to read the time but in those seconds your able to take in its beauty!

Fantastic to finally see you on the screen, you talk like a 50-year-old watch connoisseur so it was amazing actually seeing the voice that I’ve heard so many times and come to know very well coming out of a smart dressed young man - congratulations! show your self more on camera, you have the personality and look for it. Please do not forget to get a good manicure always before you show your hands, I can’t believe all these so-called watch critiques handling expensive or cheap timepieces with overgrown nails and crappy looking fingers, it kills the aesthetic of the whole shoot.
On a different note I got the Alpina A4 GMT after I saw your review of GMT’s, I will try to locate your Instagram to share some pictures of it. I also have some comments on resizing the band that could be helpful for other people.
And now of course you got me looking at Chronoswiss - Here we go E Bay, LOL

Interesting look - I’ve seen and heard of the brand but never invested much attention in them. The initial impression, for me at least, is that they’re left-field and towards the gaudy end of horology, but as seems to be more and more the case these days you get rewarded for looking a little deeper. This video has changed my opinion somewhat through the duration and I’m actually tempted! I’d better do some more research... thanks Armand

I purchased my Chronoswiss Orea last year and love it. Its the first enamel dialed model they created, i believe in 1997. Looks just as beautiful 21 years later. I personally think the brand can compete with any other in terms of finishing, dare i say even from the holy trinity.

Thanks for this video. I've been a Chronoswiss fan for many years (back to Mr Lang's days). Had a Kairos back in the day. It had a lovely, beautiful dial and the blued Breguet style hands were quite pretty as well. I'd love to get another Chronoswiss one day - probably an older Klassic or perhaps a Tora Chronograph. I do like these new models (well, some of them) but they are out of my price range for now. And I do like Regulators (have an Alexander Shorokhoff R2 Regulator). Ciao, John

You have very generously explained of the hand made watches and lots of the dial and movement. But you did not mentioned anything about the accuracy which is the most vital issue for a watch particularly when hand made. My recently purchased Certina DS 1 Small Socond having a traditional ETA 2825 runs 1 second plus per day. Isn't this grate?

I think this was the second appearance of Armand. First time a few months ago. His hair is much shorter now. He is so well spoken, so well informed and so elegant. TGV is good, but Armand is on it's way and is not far behind. For a start, his French is much better......
Armand, just open up a bit, give some personal insight into your background and give the viewers something to associate with. Your passion for watches is there, no doubt, so now it's time to face the public, who loves to listen to you.....

They aren’t even comparable. TGV and his Urban Peasant channel lacks a sense of class and elegance regarding haute horology. There also always seems to be drama involving the other trash watch RUclipsrs such as Faterico etc. They seem to understand their true lack of taste and target lower IQ individuals with their sub par visual and informational content.
