Hi! I love, love, love, love your blog! I'm new to formulation lotions and as you are allways talking about Ritamuls SCG, I wanna give it a try. The thing is, that I've been looking for buying it but where I live looks like it is imposible to find this "mulse" emulsifier. The closest emulsifier I have found is this one: INCI: Glyceryl Stearate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Stearic Acid (and) Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate. It's not the same, but will it work?? I guess it has nothing to do with the ritamuls?? Aaaggghhhrrr, I really wanna try it now!
is it much different than Glyceryl Stearate SE (STEARYL ALCOHOL, SORBITAN STEARATE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL)? I do have only Glyceryl Stearate SE in my country-
When I was a little passed newbie, I purchased 5lbs of ECOMulse and tried to use it for my emulsified butter with GSB preservative and oooooohhh boooy did I fail over and over and over again!! So I stopped trying 🙃 and opted for Montanov 68. My body Custard is a best seller and no soaping! Now I'm back at it but now for a cleansing balm and will definitely be swapping out my preservative if I use it for any emulsified body butters & lotion.
I've had similar challenges with the EcoMulse/GSB combo-so frustrating! If you add a base to the water phase before combining to ensure the pH isn't too low it will work, but that's definitely more work than just using something like Euxyl™ k 903 :) Happy making!
On your encyclopedia I read that ECOMulse causes eye irritation and now I'm super bummed because I totally intended to make a cleansing balm using it. 😫
@@mrembo25 You can likely use it in a cleansing balm since that's a rinse-off product, but start with a small batch to be sure. I tried using it in a mascara formulation years ago and that was a recipe for burning eyeballs!
This is the fifth emulsifying wax I’ve done a deep dive into, and I have no intentions of abandoning any of them 😊 if I choose to do a deep dive into an ingredient you can be sure that I will keep using it! I’m also fine waxes are like friends-I don’t think you can have too many of them 😄
I would if I ever found a natural conditioning ingredient that I thought was worth recommending. So far they've all been pretty disappointing. This (www.humblebeeandme.com/mango-mango-cleansing-conditioner/) is the closest I've got, but I still had to supplement the Varisoft with something synthetic because it's pretty lacklustre.

It wouldn't really be a conditioner because it's not cationic-it's the opposite of cationic. You can definitely make a sort of hair lotion with it, but it won't have the magic of a cationic conditioner :)

Glyceryl stearate peg 100 is not natural. This is just her favorite natural emulsifier.
