High minima due to circle-to-land approach, flown in LOC/VNAV. Captain is PF (Pilot Flying), First Officer is PM (Pilot Monitoring).
FO has his hand near the yoke to talk to ATC via the mike button on the yoke. He is not pilot flying.
We were due to break left at minima, join the downwind and a 180° turn towards the opposite runway. It's a standard procedure when the landing runway doesn't have an instrument approach and weather doesn't permit a visual approach.
However, we need to be visual with the runway to do a circle-to-land, which was not the case here.
There was too much tailwind for a straight-in ILS 05 (wind on the ground 250/30).
Luckily, weather cleared up quickly and we made it on the second approach.

+ACEGamer777 Depends on the airline and if it is a long haul or short haul pilot. Physics is not required but it will probably make your life easier when doing training as well as maths, engineering etc.
+ACEGamer777 Go to matuurpilot or something like that. he will tell you that on youtube and yes you need to know physics amd math
+ACEGamer777 I suggest you watch Mentour Pilot he does videos on people's questions and he is a short haul pilot himself.
Extreme Facts Yea that is his name
Where is that. LOWI? LSGG?
They've gone around so early, I actually didn't notice it during the first viewing :D
we want MORE !!! 1:30 will not suffice :)
Once I read the comments I now understand what they were up to. I noticed the speed was increasing then realized it was a go around. Great video.
Great video!
Brilliant video!!
Impressive footage, very interesting!
Amazing video!
Gorgeous view.
Nice calmly flown GA mate!
Nice video!
Nice video :)
wow , You are Captain Now , Fantastic Bro !!!
I like the location of your camera and angle of view!
Good video
wonderful
amazing
Nice one! :)
Big fan!
Thanks! :D
Wow I've never seen minimums that were that high before! And what is that thing sticking up out of the glareshield in front of the left side seat?
Nice! But I'd personally like to see more of an acceleration trend from the flap 15 bug before selecting flaps 5 please! ;)
Thought perhaps you'd request left deviation to stay out of the red stuff. Must have been less intense than it appeared. Very smoothe indeed!
Glad to hear that the second approach was successful, it's a pity with no ILS with category 3B installation 🤔😏🛫
+Kieran Jones That's not the issue here. Minima for the ILS CATI would have been more than fine. However, the tailwind for that runway was way above the limit for this aircraft (and any aircraft for that matter) so it was required to land on the opposite runway.
+Live from the Flight Deck and weather participation was good enought to make circleToLand?
First like!
Very good video.
Passengers be like oh no go around.
Pilots be like yes go around something exciting
You had your baro minimums VERY high; 2100 MSL, and why is your qnh 995 hPa? that's a bit odd
fantastic video...
omboarhd is the canal in you tube most awesome experiencie in 4k
What suction cup/camera are you using?
what's your camera?
what airline do you fly for?
Push the button ;)
What was the Airport? Nice?
Причина ухода на 2-рой круг?
How are they at minimums when that are so high up?!
Rnav Approach ?
Airport?
I don't understand why gauges and displays in the cockpit are flashing (the clock in this vid), I've seen this in many videos and I haven't found out why :/
+Pilot Omega Its because of the differing frame rates between the camera and the cockpit monitors. Very common problem.
Ah, ok. Thanks ;D
Anybody know what the beep at 0:32 means?
Adrian Oquendo That means that the target Altitude will be reached soon.
Alitude alert
Thank you
Target alitutde warning. It warns you when the plane is (i think) 1000ft from the target ALT.
Are you a captian now?
Не, ты че, переобучение довольно долго идёт, обычно не меньше года...
do pilots ever talk to each other while in the cockpit? Because in every video I've seen they seem like they're dilent through the entire flight😂
He has to edit out their conversations per demands from the airline for him to use his footage on RUclips below 10,000 fleet.
new video please
ahhhh why show the vectors to approach and not the landing?? very frustrating"
100??? Yeah. More like 2000
"Plus hundred" is what the gpws annunciated. It means 100 feet above mda (minimums).
?
And where was the go around?????
At 0:22 ...
This is a non precision approach. In this video, when the aircraft reach MDA and if the runway not in sight, the pilot should initiate a go around.
