When I 1st watched this show Lukas was a clear winner, but after watching this years later he was just above average.....his songwriting def helped him win the show
I always felt Storm was the clear winner. Now I see that she coasted the whole time. Didn’t even try. I’m glad she found success and continues to make her own lane. She’s a force.
Watching this for the first time since it aired. I always remembered Ryan throwing his guitar in this episode but just realized that he did so RIGHT after Tommy and Jason suggested that Magni should have done so during Teen Spirit LOL. Ryan was special.
I think we need a new series and make the final 4-5 contestants into a band, go with me here. I think they should have like vocal week workshops for them and get some of the best heavy rock vocalists work with the contestants, then a guitar workshop then next, then so on and so forth, VH1 have the resources and contacts to make it happen for sure
totally agree! I loved her song, though I still felt her vocal performance was lacking... the whole time I was imagining how great the song would have sounded with the right voice doing it.
Lukas was meh and probably an alcoholic, Dlana was a modern day Cyndi Lauper who had that pack a day smokes voice, top three should have been Storm, Ryan and Toby
To this day, I'm still disappointed that Luckas won. Magni, Storm, Toby and Ryan were great. Dilana was arrogant and couldn't write a good song to save her life, but she had a kick-ass rock & roll voice. It should have been any one of those five over Luckas.
I've been defending Lukas for 14 years... even Supernova online forums have people talking about how much they hate him. I was 12 when this was on tv and fell in love with Lukas. He's hot!
Now Toby thinks he's Axl Rose.....and sorry, but I don't understand why people think Lukas's voice is so cool. For me, he always sounds strained. It hurts to hear him sing.
Lukas was way overrated. He sounded much better when he didn't close his voice. Unfortunately, he did it all the time and it wasn't good. Ryan was the best by far. Too good for this band.

So just been watching few performances here and there, and yes i 100% agree with you, i think Lucas was the weakest off of what i have watched so far anyway, boring and not what a call a strong rock voice, and i don't mean just shouting either!

As I kid I never really gave much thought to the house band. They are legitimately an amazing group of musicians.

Ryans voice is such a marketable rock voice. Not the best voice, the best rock voice imo.

Ryan’s original is better than anything supernova wrote.
Sadly it was the only rocking song on his “songs from the eye of an elephant” album.
Technically it was also a piano ballad on that album
