    Just came back and rewatched this. I just wanted to say that I've watched all the videos you guys have put out and I know there are others that are great content. You know, the ones that it's unbelievable you got that close or the set up was perfect or the tactics were spot on and showed exactly what you wanted it to in order to illustrate what you've been trying to tell us. However, This video hits the mark on a few things that I think are perfect draws to get people excited about getting out out in the woods. This was a master class in how to observe nature up close. I don't care if you're hunting, photographing, or just out to see something, this is how it should be done. I hunt, mainly, New Mexico. (I to, often, have limited fuel lol) I often get asked how to get close to animals. Elk, Mule deer, Antelope and such. The first thing I tell people is to get outside, take a camera or phone, and go find animals. do it outside the hunt seasons and just try and find them, don't worry about getting close just find them. once you do that you can worry about tactics to get close. That's how I teach my kids, in addition to bringing them out to hunt. but in the off season they get to make mistakes and try emulating dad without pressure. in hunting season, everyone is in a hurry. NM is a draw only state and bow season is 14 days, rifle season 5. if you want to learn animal behavior, take the time outside the hunt seasons and shoot with a camera. challenge yourself to do better every time. Anyway... sorry for the long comment. I really just wanted to say that I think this in the top 5 videos I would recommend to anyone. Family friendly content with humor, fun, and education. Thanks THP and if you're ever in NM and want a buddy to hunt with... hit me up.

    love the videos! Every time I see you post a new video I feel like Christmas has come early (sit down with a cup of coffee and relax while watching) and always wonder when the next one will post!.... you all inspired me to hunt public land....... I come to realize that hunting public land is way more exciting, and I'm not restricted to hunting just 100 acres. Also my expectations for big bucks isn't as high, but I'm up for a challenge.....if you ever come to Ohio and hunt near Coshocton county or somewhere close to there, I'd love to tag along to learn a few things......have a great rest of the season

    This spring turkey season I found a great spot in front of a beautiful creek to do some paperwork. As I finished up I looked to the left and there was a trail cam 20 feet away pointing right at me. I spent a couple weeks in fear that Casey’s breakfast pizza would make me go viral in a way no one would ever want to.

    Sweet bobcat encounter! Those are the cool encounters we all love. Zach, do you feel like hunting on the ground almost exclusively now, limits the places that you are willing to go?

    • @TheHuntingPublic
      @TheHuntingPublic  4 года назад +2

      Exactly the opposite. I feel like there is nowhere I can't hunt. I feel more likely to get exactly where I wan't to be because I'm not limited to a tree with good cover. With that being said I am looking forward to having the saddle in some situations too for when I feel the best option is to get into a tree.

    • @MattMillardOutdoors
      @MattMillardOutdoors 4 года назад +1

      The Hunting Public it seems like the saddle and Ghillie suits really cover the bases well. I was mainly curious if you found yourself picking certain pieces to hunt because they fit your ground attack better. I love seeing the variety of tactics though.

    • @hoythunter4853
      @hoythunter4853 4 года назад

      Really? How's that? These guys are sponsored/do advertising. Besides if you can afford to have a bow and gear, but not have money for your car, you probably have priority issues.

    • @jasonsparks4601
      @jasonsparks4601 4 года назад +7

      Hoyt hunter do you not watch their videos? They're not getting rich doing this channel, at least they don't act like it or have all new equipment or vehicles. Their set ups are bare bones and none of their clothes are all top tier price points, as one would expect from a sponsor. Please point out to us viewers where you are seeing the sponsorship logos and advertisements throughout the videos, now are there interruption ads yes but please show us other than on x and maybe vortex who is padding pockets.

    • @hoythunter4853
      @hoythunter4853 4 года назад

      @@jasonsparks4601 yes, I watch and follow these guys. These guys are great! That isn't the issue. My point was to shawn price's comment that no gas somehow makes these guys just like the average Joe. Albeit, small amounts of sponsorship and RUclips money prob helps these guys, which is wonderful!
      Plenty of rich people who drive beaters and dress shabby, you can't use that exclusively either.
      I don't know of a single person who doesn't have gas money to get them to work or hunting, that also has good priorities in his life.
      Usually, people smoking, drinking, or drugging it away. Some blow money in other things. If someone I know is really working hard, not blowing money, and needs gas money to get to hunt, I would do my best to help them out. Again, not a thing against THP guys. Hope you have a great and safe season!

    In your video about where you guys will be hunting I think Pennsylvania would be better than New York because there is a lot of state land you are allowed to hunt on and they have some big deer. But new York is a great deer hunting state too.

    No. The Bobcat was not trying to wind you. A Coyote and many other critters will smell you and leave but a Bobcat will not at all. I hunt them and you never have to worry about them winding you. It was circling to get better views of you.
