It's actually less search than you'd think! I don't know what stores are around you, but you can find it in the baking aisle at Kroger and Publix, it will say flour instead if starch, but it's the same thing 🤗
@Nameless But Known It would probably work, but they won't taste right, the proper term for the bubbles in the tea is Tapioca Pearls, if you substitute you'll have Corn Pearls, and will taste more like bread

Next time use a double boiler, it will make it much easier. The direct heat will cook the dough too fast, but it will be much slower than using the microwave :)

Lol this didn't even work! It stayed the color it started as after I did everything I was supposed to! I might of done something wrong, but I followed the instructions pretty exact. I recommend buying premade Boba if you want it home. Had a lot of fun making it though!

One variation yes. I know of one that uses coconut milk and another that uses honey to flavor it. There's even minty fresh one's. Its up to one's own creativity.

For different flavours you can use things like matcha and for colours you can use food colouring but if you want to make the colours natural you can use things like activated charcoal

Go to the store! Corn starch will technically work but it is so not chewy and wheat flour won't work at all. Tapioca will get you the best results!
