9:13 Hi, at 9:13 in this video how on earth did you get the metal plate to lift off the star section? I have tried a hammer and chisel but the thing won’t budge.
Hi mate, I mightve forgot to mention it in the video, not sure now haha but I ended up using a gear puller to get it out and couldn't get video at the same time. If you've got 2 chisels this enough, try and keep it square as you lift it, prying from opposite sides. I found trying to pry from one side didn't work well, try and keep it square. Let me know if you get on alright
Hi Marcus, I'm facing the same issue. Not being able to remove the plate from the star shaped bolt. Tried lots of prying with flatheads but to no avail Can you provide me a detail, picture or link of the gear puller you used? Plus, is adding WD40 necessary as well? Appreciate the work you put in :)
It is a ballache and did my head in that I couldn't both hand and video at the same time. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221915441955?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=DVBdtK_-Tz6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=qW5AT9QyRXS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY That's the gear puller. If you've got a chisel, try tapping the plate down as well
Thanks so much. Yeah terrible. I got stuck at that point. Had to refit the old part again but will try it once I got the right tool :) With tapping the plate you mean to tap on the plate downwards to make it come looser from the star bolt? Or the upward tap between the plate and the metal part under it?
Something like this one mate www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204952999167?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=lcbafgbpsjk&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=qW5AT9QyRXS&var=505647451323&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY It was just dead cheap stuff
Hey I've had my link fail, just appreciate having this video as a reference for when I fix/replace it. You still got your old link? I'd be interesting in buying it or even just the measurements from it! Thanks
That link should be fine mate, I just tried it. You tried copying it into a browser rather than just the link? If you have instagram, message me on there so I can send you a screenshot or help some more mate
@@marcus_motors_ haha appreciate the reply, but I was refering to the actual shifter link, as in your old one. Think I can get away with making one rather than waiting for the lead time. Anyway, still apreciate the video regardless
Very usefull i put it about in 2 days thank you very much
Good! It's so much nicer imo, didn't think I was gonna liek it as much as I did haha
This works with every late version Giulietta? I think early models used the M32 transmission
Any with the C635 gearbox mate, all the manual giuliettas

@MH-pl3jl or 2 stubby flat head screwdrivers
Where did you get the red trim pieces from in your interior?

Very useful video Where did you bought the part from
Link is in the description mate. If they don't deliver to you, there's a bloke in the giulietta section of alfaowner.com 👍

Ahhh got ya. Came free with the car 😂 can get em from alfa workshop, part number 55232064
this is fucked up i can't take it off. I lost 3 hours by just putting it back together in the end
It's a ballache 😂 tried a small chisel to hit it down, break the seal
use a bearing puller or a wiper remover
