My favorite lens for astro. Gave the manual version to my brother and I’m living the luxurious life now (although I manually focus on stars for astrophotography)
You are seriously becoming my favorite youtuber. I love your in depth reviews. Your scaling system. Just everything. Anything I search camera related to my Sony A7iii you have an in depth review. As always thank you for your hard work.
I bought this because it is cheaper than the Sigma 14mm art lens and it's great for real estate photography and large group photos of high school reunion group shot. It did the job for me.
Just purchased this lens as a used copy... I am selling my 12mm f/2.0 Rokinon/Samyang to partially fund it since the 12mm is an APSC only lens and I now shoot with both APSC and the full-frame Sony A7iii. The 14mm lens will provide me both an equivalent 21mm lens on my APSC cameas and an ultra-wide 14mm on my A7iii.. Additionally, this is an AF lens while the 12mm is manual focus and exposure only... I am thinking that this lens will provide quite a bit of versatility and will mesh quite well with my Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens on both full and crop sensor Sony cameras...
Just ordered this lens to use for commercial real estate video with a Nikon Z6 (adapter) mounted on a Ronin S. Need a dedicated 2.8 for this rig. Can't wait to give it a try! thanks for the great review. It helped me make my decision.
My go to ultra wide will probably be this one due to budget but the cons you listed aren't really a big deal to me. The only real issue might be the dullness on the corners but other than that this seems like a smart buy.
How do you feel about this lens vs. the Tamron 17-28mm F2.8? Have you used that one as well (about to check if you have a video on it haha) Specifically for landscape and real estate!
Saving for this lens now. I love my canon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 stm lens, but it struggle in low light. Hopefully the Samyang does a much better job for vlogging?
I just ordered this for my Canon 5D Mk IV. Great for doing group photography but I need a Zero distortion that is the same as the Sigma 14mm Art lens which is $1500
I don't think the DSLR version is identical, but I haven't seen any comparisons. If you know of any I'd love to see them. I just got the new RF version so we'll see how that goes.
Hi there - i bought this objektiv as well and now i am searching for a filter which fits to this objektiv. The problem is, that normal filters doesnt fit and thats why i am aksing :) greetings from GER - Adiablo:)
What's your go to ultra wide?
16-35
Sigma 16mm on apsc 6500 currently. Also use 18-105 Sony F4 when outside.
I have the same lens!
Currently the Sony 16-35 f/4 but... I'll get this one too at some point. Love the creative things you can do with an UWA!

Thanks friend! It means a lot!
Well said, great review!
I think this might be my go to glass for real estate walk-thru videos. Couple other RUclipsr's say it's better for video than stills.

Never have been a Rokinon fan until they started making these new Sony lenses. They have really knocked it out of the park.

Can u try this on Nikon z series and share the experience about its compatibility
Excellent video 😊!

There is a filter holder for this lens
NiSi 150mm Filter Holder For Samyang AF 14mm FE f/2.8 Lens
Do you think this is too wide for real estate? Would maybe a 16mm or 18mm be better?
Should be ok but I would recommend a zoom for real estate. Check out my Real Estate Lens Video
Thanks for the video. I was confused + didn't want to spend much on a wide angle for my Nikon. What's your take on Nikon 20mm F/2.8D? Thanks again
Biggest con is definitely having to have the expensive dock for updating it.
Really nice lens tho.
Pls I wana know whether this lens will be better on the apsc sony a6400
Thanks for the review

Looks like a contender. Thanks
Hi. Are you planning to test that cheaper samyang 18mm wideangle lens?
Ill probably check it out :-)
“Great Budget Option”
*Sees it’s $500 USD*
*cries in college student*
Could be worse. They want $100 more for the RF version.
Found one on eBay for $299. Not bad at all.
Nice review. . Goes well with the Aony A7iii
Thx for making awesome review. :)
I have a Aony a7iii too! Love that camera. Lol
