Sorry to hear of furious & slamming stuff. Good to hear your break resulted in winning so much after.
Point taken on being away too long from the game being tough. I have that problem w/fighters- not getting to my brother's to play for a week or two, or more.
Dropping ranks can be demoralizing. Stopping as soon as a losing streak starts is key. Replay review & training, like you've said.
I just hope to get online for SF6 someday (like every other game). Then I'd be able to see how it goes. Nice vid. 🙂

I had this happen to me this week also. Went from 1780 MR down to 1530. Yes, you read that correctly. I've since bounced back to 1700 AND I got a nice 2nd place at my local. But I ABSOLUTELY needed a break get out of my rage queuing. If you're reading this, and you're feeling it also... just breathe, take a break, and clear your head. Don't let this game break you.

This happened to me 2 days ago. I was at 1750 MR, got all the way down to 1570. yesterday I got back 1650ish. the thing is its not taking a break from the game I blame, its the fact that I went to battle hub and was playing 15 --16 MR players and got away with things I had no business. that along with what you said. Dropping, making terrible decisions as i got saltier. I think I'm going to take a week to play other games.

      @erichthegraham Месяц назад

@@jrg305 to be fair, balancing for top level is important in a competitive game with a million dollar prize. I agree though, they represent a very small percentage of the player base, and the mid-high level players frequently get left out of the conversation, I think to everybody's detriment.
I only exclude the bottom 50% because Ideally they are the ones that are new, are doing something wrong they need to learn, have busy schedules/play ranked infrequently, or bought the game and decided they didn't like it. Frankly, they deserve to have an opinion too, it's just much more common that it's a skill issue in those ranks, so they should be receptive to advice from higher players.
I've been hard stuck Plat 4 a long time, and get really distracted by other games when I get frustrated, and it can be tough. I know that a lot of what's holding me back is scrubby excuses, but not handling the tilt well is probably my biggest issue on the game nowadays (I should probably get coaching). Anyway, all of that was just to say it makes sense to balance for top level, but this doesn't excuse devs from considering the mass population's experience, like with Honda.

I used to do about 5 ranked matches a night in SFV, eventually hit super diamond.
In SF6, I don't touch ranked, not because I'm afraid or anything, but because I still fight High MR players in battle lounge or if I decide to fight people in my local scene.
I work 3-11 and sometimes do OT in the AM doing tech support. I can get pretty stressed when I'm home, but putting myself through the numbers game or ranked doesn't really seem good for my mental.
However, fighting one of the top players of my scene in FT20 ALSO can get me tilted, but I can still improve from those sets.
Battlehub, you never know what you will get and I love it. Sometimes I'm fighting people lower skill than me, but I'm atleast teaching the dhalsim matchup. Other times I'm getting smacked around by 1500-1600 MR players and regardless of that I'm learning either way.
I don't think hopping on ranked after a break is the best decision, but it still looks like you gained something from it.

No game gets me as salty as playing SF ranked matches. I'm a 50-year old man who's played every major SF since the World Warrior in the arcade. I'd like to believe that 30-plus years of experience gives me an advantage in SF6 (most special moves are so encoded in my muscle memory I have scar tissue). And I can say that I have eleven characters at Diamond Rank, over half of them ranked up from Silver through Platinum.
But, damn, there are many days when it's hard not to get furious when every other player walks all over me and my pride. I struggle to keep pace with the crazy number of options. If I'm not looking for something at the right time, I usually stand no chance of reacting to a Drive Impact, DR, neutral jump, etc.. It's frustrating to feel outplayed so often and I have to remind myself of what I've accomplished or I start beating myself up, cursing the other players, etc.. Wait, isn't this supposed to be fun?

This is just not fun anymore to play 1/ as a casual among good players 2/ one of the weakest character in the game. I dont wanna invest more time learning another character so I guess I'll soon give up the game and keep watching pro player tournaments to entertain myself.

Tilt is a killer. That happened to me just last week. I have 3 toons in leveling and whenever I sick with one, I’ll switch and generally can pull myself back mentally and switch back toy main. But not that day, oh no. All 3 toons I almost de-ranked. Losing streaks on all 3 and talk about getting heated! My last set I finally just said “I’m done” and turned it off for a day. Came back and was back to my usual self!

Been learning more since, trying to get more consistent and I'm SLOWLY clawing my way back to 1500. It was demoralizing at first but I'm still really enjoying it. And after a while I actually liked that I been improving and been climbing my way back up. I'm def going to keep going. I think I have the ability to reach 1600+ eventually. My younger bro got to 1700 with Ryu recently so that's now motivating me to get there too. It's gonna be fun.
MR system is good tho. Working as intended. I dropped to 1290 something because I belonged there. Now I'm at around 1450 because I belong there. When I get to 1600 it'll be because I belong there. It's all good. Game's mad fun.

Take a break and your mind off it, though your mind is still working unconsciously figuring out what went wrong. Then when you come back in a calmer relax state every thing just flows. The right cause of action along with all the answers and solutions just come to you like that. Like some super natural intuition or something. It happens to me all the time.

I have so many days or moments where I get truly upset with myself and the game when I'm doing badly, usually because what I was thinking in my head didn't happen on screen. Sometimes it's the connection but often times it's a sloppy input that's really hard to correct in the moment. I also have major issues when dealing with heavy pressure since Manon's options are limited and it feels like SF6 is HEAVILY balanced toward allowing consistent pressure.
I've been trying to work through my issues in a number of ways. I spend more time in training mode mainly because it gives me the mental space to not only pay attention to my inputs but I get the readout on the side as well. It's hard to figure out what went wrong in the moment and for me that tends to be the source of my frustration. I get far less upset when I can accurately explain what went wrong.
I've also started compiling a wiki of all the Manon information that I could because my other issue is knowing what to do in general. Some characters have obvious openings but others really don't. I've ben wanting something like it so that when I am struggling to deal with a person or attack I can go, read up on it, and then have that peace of mind of "Oh yeah, I can hit that with s.LK" or something along those lines. Building it has been a SLOG since I'm just one person, but it's certainly helped to some extent already. It's missing a ton of stuff and a lot of it is actually placeholder but I'm proud of where it is at the moment. It also allows me to play the game on the days that I'm not feeling up to "playing the game" so it keeps me involved.
    manonsdancingcorner.notion.site/0a6cb1115fbd4c5b83d5253f484384a0?v=4a0342ec0df14bae9d52059f9598377e&pvs=4

I think for me the thing is that I'll play and have fun with characters I don't care about. They're throw away matches for me. If I lose with them I just laugh it off and try again. I play so loose and free, and I find myself having fun and not caring about the points. I don't even look at it....... AND THEN I pick up my main (Chun) and suddenly I'm playing tight and full of salt when I lose. I realized this a few weeks ago and have been trying to figure out why I do that to myself? I think it's because I must be feeling that this character is my "best" character and I do all this training stuff, and watch videos on tech, so I must feel like "Hey i SHOULD be good with her!" But the truth is that this is really taking all the fun out of playing with my favorite character. I get no loose and free relaxing vibes, no satisfaction in wins and only self hate and frustration in losses. Just reproaching myself for bad decisions and input mistakes until I want to pull my hair out. This video came at a good time for me Mura. Thanks so much for sharing. I have been taking sf6 ranked seriously again and was absolutely losing it, as I was unable to consistenly beat Akuma players because of how volatile the character can be sometimes and ended up demoting multiple times Because I was absolutely malding after guessing wrong on wakeup 10 times against an Akuma until I was dead in one of my matches my decision making became drastically poor and I went on to lose/almost lose other matches. Then after taking a much needed break, I was able to retain my gameplan on Rashid again and managed to get back to my original LP after promoting back to D5. This video was much needed and really emphasizes that LP gains and ,more importantly, self improvement in this game is a marathon 😅. This video was much needed thank you!

I can totally relate with getting frustrated/angry on a losing streak. I basically dont play ranked anymore because of this and just stick to battle hub (not really an option for you I know, crazy that they haven't even added 1 north africa/middle east battle hub server yet).
I also find it super frustrating/demoralising that we all have days like you had with a big losing streak, followed by big win streak and all those matches make a net gain of 11 MR. I end up wondering why i bothered. It ends up feeling like a chore when the whole reason we play the game is that it's fun.
I'll probably play ranked again to get bison to master when he's out but won't grind for MR with him.

We aren’t pros and never will be so just chill, if I don’t play for a week I’m getting cooked extra crispy unless I’m using my one master character deejay then it’s a light crisp, it doesn’t matter😂

I get what you're saying but naw screw that. The best feeling in the world is beating those no lifers in a match with less time trained. This game is so volatile it's actually possible. Coming home from my 9-5 and beating some ass before I get in my pj's and sip some tea with a splash of salt from the tears of my opponents 😂😂😂😈

I'm trying to relate, but in a way this video feels disingenuous to most of the population playing this game. You're at master and took a week off. You're a top percentile.
Im at plat and took a month off. I lost 2000 LP coming back.
You're like a celebrity skinny girl complaining she gained 5 lbs when traveling to Aruba when I'm like a 350 lb person with binge eating disorder who struggles to lose 5 lbs without gaining 20 after giving up. Oh poor you skinny girl. Must be hard.

To each their own goals and aspirations. I would be a king if i got a legend rank but to Daigo its nothing and he wants to win the pro tour. Others just want the master rank and if they got it that's the world to them.
What i am trying to say is that the drawbacks and frustration of being set back relative to your goal happens to all of us and i wanted to share my experience is all.

People, set your own goals. You don't need to let other's opinions be your own. I hear all of these arbitrary "rules" about real Masters and what not. People say you're not a real Master unless you have 1800 MR or more. This is dumb. There's levels of Mastery. Ranked is sweaty and the game can be not-so-fun if you take it too seriously. I'm a 1600 MR guy...that's good enough for me. I've beaten "Legend" ranked players before. But grinding for a number is not fun to me. I just want to fight.
