Kirstie’s part, starting around 2:24 ish, is so beautiful. Especially her little crescendo with the vibrato at 2:30. I keep coming back to it. And Avi’s part throughout the song makes my heart break, but in a good way.

Incredible version, and perfect venue to sing it. Avi is feeling the trio so deep before joining in. Kirstin's soaking into the boys harmonies in the end, and Scott couldn't stop glancing at Avi...it's nice to seem them enjoying each other's parts for once. And Avi ! Had Goosebumps everywhere by the time he was on. What a voice. Powerful when needed, soathing and simply beautiful all the time. Oh I miss him so much. Ptx don't sound the same without him.
I mean, obviously they do, but there's a cool..."off-ness" with just Avi, Scott, and Mitch that you don't get with Kirstie in the trio or with all five of them together.

Then people said they missed the old ptx which was more raw instead of all the cameras and stuff. So they released a live version of this and it's awesome. Man I love these guys!

Have you heard their original in PTXVol 3 ? "Standing By"... You'll be blown away ! And also "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" in this Christmas album, where his voice is so powerful on the lead ! But after all, he was learning Opera in college just before PTX :)
I'm so amazed at this song. The balance that Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie has been perfected and is so unified, its unbelievable. And too have Kevin and Avi's talent as well adds so much depth to it. This song is so soothing and calming and I can't find myself listening to enough of it.

For all those people out there that think Pentatonix uses auto tune and whatnot, this should kill that particular debate. That said, these people right here are one of the most talented groups in a good while. Acapella is not the easiest form od music medium because there's nowhere to hide and very few groups have managed to pull it off ( Take 6 comes to mind). This rendition brought tears to my eyes and they all looked like they were pretty close to tears too
***** PTX have released many, many live videos. It's impossible to autotune live recordings when everyone is singing together into the same microphone. Just look at their older videos.
***** How do you separate the different voices that are on the same recording? That's very difficult to do. You need to do this in order to apply autotune.
I have never heard a more beautiful version. I use to sing this with my late twin brother who had Down Syndrome. This brought that happiness and love of him back to me. Thank you, PTX.

My late boyfriend used to listen to this son and just bawl because it's such a beautiful song and his mother sang it to him when he was a child. I don't think he ever heard this version, but I listen to it often and cry for him. They harmonize like no other. This is an utterly gorgeous rendition.

I am literally in awe at what these people can do with their voices. I love this. I love this! You can really start to hear Kevin at around 2:05, and he sounds great. The harmonies at the beginning are killing me, they are so seamless. Trio always sounds amazing when they put their voices together. And Avi. Wow! I love it when he gets to showcase his incredible range. All in all, this is one of my favorite arrangements Pentatonix has ever done.
This never gets old; I watch it all year long. The most beautiful harmonies ever. The trio at the beginning, and when you think it can't get any better than this, Avi & Kevin join in, goosebumps! This is my all-time favorite version of any Christmas song ever. So beautiful and layered. I'm listening to it on repeat while I write a Christmas story in the middle of August. Being a writer is weird 😆Anyway, I got distracted by the video. I always do. Avi's obvious love of music and the way he's listening to intensely to everyone else, just gets me. His voice is like nothing I've heard. And Mitch has the voice of an actual angel. So clear and perfect. That said, I know nothing about the interpersonal relationships of the band members and I really only knew Avi's name. I had to look up the rest. But it always looks to me like at 2m36 Scott was supposed to come in with the "silent night" while everyone else sang "sleep." There's a breath in there that feels like he's building to it, but missed the cue. Could be totally wrong, but they did one more round of sleeps and then I think Avi came in with the silent night instead. Scott seems to pause when this happens and then jumps in singing behind him. And then at the very end, Scott gives him a "What the hell, man?" look. it always cracks me up. I don't know if I'm imagining it or not, but it makes me wanna know what the dynamics were. I'll never look it up though, because it's more fun to speculate than to know.

She could not hear it, but she said the faces of everyone singing and listening was holy and magical. I have to say that the peace and holiness of the song is absolutely evidence of God!

Sometimes when I watch their regular music videos I think they just use autotune, but then I watch one of their live videos and remember why they're my favorite band. I honestly do believe Pentatonix has the single greatest amount of concentrated talent on the planet.
I saw them perform this on a livestream before watching this video and I was shocked! I knew Kevin had a beautiful voice, just didn't truly appreciate how nice it was. They all sound like literal angels in this, and it was one of my favorites from "That's Christmas to Me".

This is my all-time favorite version of any Christmas song ever. So beautiful and layered. I'm listening to it on repeat while I write a Christmas story in the middle of August. Being a writer is weird 😆Anyway, I got distracted by the video. I always do. Avi's obvious love of music and the way he's listening to intensely to everyone else, just gets me. His voice is like nothing I've heard. And Mitch has the voice of an actual angel. So clear and perfect. That said, I know nothing about the interpersonal relationships of the band members and I really only knew Avi's name. I had to look up the rest. But it always looks to me like at 2m36 Scott was supposed to come in with the "silent night" while everyone else sang "sleep." There's a breath in there that feels like he's building to it, but missed the cue. Could be totally wrong, but they did one more round of sleeps and then I think Avi came in with the silent night instead. Scott seems to pause when this happens and then jumps in singing behind him. And then at the very end, Scott gives him a "What the hell, man?" look. it always cracks me up. I don't know if I'm imagining it or not, but it makes me wanna know what the dynamics were. I'll never look it up though, because it's more fun to speculate than to know.
If it were possible to hear the colors of a sunset caress the sky this, I feel, is what it would sound like. Literally in tears because this so beautiful.
As soon as Avi starts singing... He made the song complete, I'll miss him so much. He's seriously the "Jesus" of Pentatonix. My heart cries when I listen to them sing like this

My english teacher told me a story. She said her grandmother was born deaf, and she never heard anything. Her favorite song was silent night though. She could not hear it, but she said the faces of everyone singing and listening was holy and magical. I have to say that the peace and holiness of the song is absolutely evidence of God!
