I'm a 73 year old grandmother and I am crying listening to this song. I have seen it all. I lived in a neighborhood of Jewish people, and I saw the tattoos on their arms, people hating each other so viciously is heartbreaking. I dream of us all being respectful of each other, enjoying our differences instead of being afraid of each other.
When they started passing the signs to each other, it made me realise just how diverse this group is. Men and women. Whites and blacks. Jews and Aryans. Christians and LGBT+. With five members, so much diversity is embedded into this group. And once the signs went down, they started harmonising to represent their unity as human beings. This video is magnificent. Thank you Pentatonix for being the kind and accepting people that you are.
Novem Ber There is nothing wrong with LGBTQ+ people. They are people just like everyone else, and It's not hurting anybody to be LGBTQ+. Let people be happy
Avi, You probably will not see this, but I couldn't resist writing. Normally I'm not a singer but I became a bass in my school chorus after an audition. You have been a great inspiration and role model for me throughout the years I've been watching Pentatonix, and will continue to be one in the future. Thank you for the great memories.
As a die-hard Beatlemaniac, this just brings me to tears. John wrote this song as a message to humankind. And what hurts the most is that, he was singing for peace. He tried to relay a wonderful message and just wanted people to become one. Though it never happened. But Mitch, Scott, Avi, Kevin, Kirstie, thank you for bringing the meaning to us again. People need to think about this more.
I wish they could get more solos. I always see fawning over Scott, Kristin, and more than anyone else, Mitch, and I'm always thinking "did you NOT hear that drop/beat box combo?"
I'm fully aware they coordinate these songs and its not a competition, and I don't see how I was being disrespectful in the slightest. Rather, I'd think, ignoring members of the group instead of realizing they ALL need to work together and that all of their contributions are important is worse. They all deserve praise. Honestly, the fact that you put fans in quotations as if I'm insincere about my love for any of them is kind of insulting. All I said is I enjoy seeing those two get time to shine since it seems they're often overlooked if you ever scroll through the comments. I think every member of the group is amazingly talented, and I support every one of them. Maybe you read my original comment wrong, but hopefully this clears thing up as a genuine fan.
Avi's voice, Kevin's voice, the harmony, the SIGNS, just everything made me tear up oh my gosh. I never realized how diverse and individual each member of PTX is and it makes me so happy to see how much of an impact their music and music in general can be. I want to do stuff like that. Just amazing.
Actually, I'm gonna side with Victoria Confusione on this one. I don't appreciate you mocking my attempt at an emotional, cathartic comment about a work of art. What I meant to say was that the group makes their differences so seamless through their image and music that one doesn't think of what they are and instead focuses on what they do. The signs may seem redundant as it states their labels, but the labels are not the first things I think of when I think PTX. The fact that they were uniting under similar labels, labels one doesn't ponder in a group like that, made me tear up because they were uniting under a beautiful world of commonalities. Hope this cleared it up and please respect my opinions, Victoria's opinions, and anyone else's opinions and be wary of what you say and how you say it. We want to shape the Earth into a beautiful one, after all.
Okay, the vocals are beautiful and stunning, and I mean, it is pentatonix, they never miss a note. But can we talk about the video and message for a second. While all members of PTX are proud of who they are, as a band they steer clear of anything controversial. They have a base of dedicated fans, but also of families across America. They tend to play on lighthearted themes and let their vocal talent propel them to the spotlight. And even if they wanted to send a message it would be hard to drill down on one theme due to their immensely varying beliefs and diversity. In this video they not only show that they all have shared identities, and the overarching identity of "Human," but they also fulfill the message of the song. Despite their differing beliefs, even politically, they have no problems with each member's identity being prominently featured next to their own. They embody the widely held belief of togetherness and social cooperation. I guess what I'm trying to say is, as a long time fan, I'm so proud of them for doing this. The media and middle America is a scary thing to stand up against with a message, even slightly bordering on social commentary. But PTX knows what they have is something special, they have finally said it loud and clear. I've been waiting for something like this for a long time.
Well said Anna Grace. PTX's video cover of this song is both breathtaking and inspiring. Although we are a melting pot celebrating our differences...we are still united as one race...the HUMAN RACE. Peace is possible if we remember that tenet. Thanks John Lennon, you are truly missed...RIP ✌🏽peace and 🤟🏽 love
Kevin I don't know if you will respond or even see this, but I just love how you stand out. You are not afraid to get in the mix of people, you still let people see that you are a christian, I absolutely love that about you. Please never change, you are my roll model. I hope that I will grow strong in my faith and even when i am older, express my Christianity like you.
@Jason - It's not like that. It's not an attack on religion itself, rather what people do because of religion. "Nothing to kill or die for" That's the key, that's the point. The song is asking you to imagine what it would be like if people stopped killing for religious reasons. If religion was gone, if there was no labels on faith or god, then people could just believe without having to hurt each other.
I think they genuinely elevated this song to gospel. It hits me differently than John’s version, which is beautiful in its stark arrangement, straightforward performance, and simple, delightful melody. This is more like a hymn. Both impossible to improve on. Perfect things.
@Egalitarian917whoa. Where’d you come from with that incisive and important commentary? Thanks for pointing that out! I think you just made me a better person, and the Internet a safer place for the children. We are truly a brotherhood of man here on RUclips. Have a blessed day!
Pentatonix have never truly spoken out about how diverse they are as a group and how well they work together. This is the perfect time for them to come out and share this amazing message. Gorgeous. I am very thankful we have them in the world today. They are honestly an iconic group.
Someone actually said to me that the reason that they hate PTX is because of how politically correct they appear. They are just a mixture of the minority group and that is why they are so popular. It is safe to say that, the person got a serious tongue lashing from me.
Avi's voice brought me tears Kevin's high notes made me want to do something with my life Mitch's voice made me smile so much Scott's voice melted my heart Kirstie's voice made my mind calm Pentaholics unite!
Halfway into the video they're showing how everyone has a difference. At the end, they show us that we should treat everyone the same because we're all one thing. Human.
Wow. That brief moment of connection when Avi receives the card from Scott and then when he passes it to Kevin -- the way he looks at each of them and connects soul-to-soul -- so beautiful and moving.
Forgive the length but bear with me? This group makes beautiful, pure, honest music. Ive been a fan since I first heard them. I'm 61 years old and was raised in a different time but I had awesome parents and I was raised to accept people for who they are. Even so, I had a little trouble with LGBTQ+ not because I didn't think they have a right to live their lives for themselves, as themselves, but because I had a problem of understanding. LGBT I got but I didn't understand Q+. I talked to my oldest granddaughter, who knows I'm probably the most accepting old fart in the world, about my confusion and she got frustrated with me because I just wasn't getting it. I got home and did what I do. Researched it. I was reminded of something my Aunt told me when I was younger. She was a descendant of the Seneca tribe in New York. There was a term that was used and I can't remember the native word but it roughly translates to person of two spirits. Gender fluid or pansexual I guess they'd be called today. These people weren't ostracized. They were held in high regard. Your tribe was considered blessed if you had a person of two spirits that lived among you. They were actually quite high the tribe and were asked to be counselors. They settled disputes between husbands and wives, brothers and sisters. They were involved in peace talks. They didn't live as man or woman but as both and as neither. And that's when it hit me and I finally understood at least a little better. My granddaughter said it wasn't perfect understanding but she was proud of me for it. To see this group of people together making such beautiful music does my heart good. If everyone could live their lives like this, accepting others for who they are, the world would be a much better place. To all the members of the LGBTQ+ community, I'm sorry for my ignorance but I am trying. And I am learning. I wish nothing more than for you to feel safe and happy with who you are and if that's the case, then I'm happy for you. And please remember, not all of us boomers are locked in the old mindset. Much love to all who've put up with my rambling. lol
Thank you for your patience and understanding of the community, yes it's a bit confusing most of the time but to read what you wrote here about how you feel about the community it makes me smile to know that there are folks from the older generations that actually have a good heart. I'm appreciative for you to be able to open your mind and heart to see that we are all human and have a right to be who we are. I've struggled with my identity a good long while, afraid to open up and let the truth about myself be in the light of others. There's so much more than what is on the outside, we are all human and have feelings as well. I am one they would possibly consider of two spirits, and I was told this by a Apache chief and elders when I was younger. When they told me about this even the Cherokee elders agreed and told me I was a butterfly by heart of one and a wolf by second. They told me that I was of the mother Earth and that I had two spirit animals. One of which was the butterfly because I was expecting more change in my life and of the wolf because I was going to be able to teach others about different situations in life and how to handle them. I have been told that I have the love for others like the Great Spirit has for his children and his creations. I'm very protective of the ones who are my new family, and the one who is my soulmate. He is of two spirits himself, and he just needs a little help with understanding of the situation. He is as protective as a bear and as brave as an eagle, but he teaches new ways as an alpha Wolf. Sorry I didn't mean to get off on a rambling spree lol all I am saying is thank you for having such an open mind and heart about how some people are. I'm considered bi sexual in the eyes of man. But I proudly accept who I am because God made me the way he seen before I was born. He sees how open hearted and open minded I am towards everyone in this world. I see the good in people even if they don't see it in themselves. But as I said earlier thank you for your kindness and patience with trying to properly understand the community. God bless you and your family ❤❤❤❤
Don't be so harsh on yourself, there are some of us (me, for instance) that don't even understand ourselves. Trying to understand the other is a great quality and you're doing it.
I get so teary eyed when they hold up their signs telling who they are, & realizing when they pass it, they relate to each other in one way or another despite their differences. It's crazy how we let so many things divide us when in the end we have more in common than we think, & we're all human.
Holding back tears, we got to hear everyone sing, and they delivered a beautiful message. I remember y'all from day 1 when y'all use to make videos in a living room, sharing a microphone...and now doing tours and music videos. I've been a fan from the beginning, and routing for the success that you guys have today. And y'all humbleness is still among each and everyone of you guys. Love y'all!
This is one of the most powerful videos I have ever seen. You have summed it up beatifully, and I am sure that John Lennon would have been delighted to hear and see this. Brilliant!
Yes, I'm sure John would be proud of this. This whole song is written about unity of people and love and kindness, and tearing down barriers. He would be very proud of this.
I was actually getting kind of upset that in a song about not segregating ourselves, they started to point out their differences. But then I got goosebumps at the end, when the point was actually that those things don't matter.
I've listened to this song since I was a kid, and I'm 48 now. This song reminds me how much the world has changed. I have to say you guys brought me to tears 😢 on this one and you absolutely right, we are all human.
Beautiful. Just beautiful. Kevin's voice is so strong now, such a broad range. All that hard work with his vocal coach is really coming through. Mitch is still singing like a angel, Scott perfectly places all the ornaments and runs exactly as needed, no more no less. Kirstie, dear, lovely Kirstie, belting those soprano lines with never a shrill tone. And Avi, the bass I wish was singing behind me in the Bach choir, singing up where humans can hear, and down to the deep warm tones that rattle my bones. I am in awe. You all get better each time. And your message has been received, young ones. No matter what any of us would put on our signs, no matter was label we are assigned by society, we are all HUMAN. Can't wait for the EP.
I've waited for the day they would make a video acknowledging how incredibly representative and inclusive of a group they are. They are incredible and inspirational for everyone out there. Thank you PTX!
As a Jewish, LGBTQ+ Woman, do you know how hard it is to find a group that represents me? How hard it is to look at a group of musicians and say: "yes, when they imagine their fans, they will take the time to imagine someone like me." I am important. You are important. We are all so special and deserve to have someone to look up to where we can see ourselves reflected and know that our aspirations aren't out of reach. So I reiterate, THANK YOU PTX.
I remember in the Sing Off, Season 3, (I watched the whole thing, not just PTX), there was one group that were all brothers and sisters. They were either the first or second group that were eliminated. They had some technique issues but one critique was that their vocals were too close, not enough contrast. I thought that was interesting at the time. WIthout a musical background, I would have thought having the same vocals would have been an advantage. But it's not. It is when different voices come together in various, interesting and new ways, that draws our attention, that is beautiful. It's the same with people. Yes, people who look like us, act like us, believe the same thing as us can create harmony, but the swells, the chords are limited. We need differences to make our highs, higher and expand our range.
The video's meaning it's so beautiful, the song itself too, but that Pentatonix touch made it better. All the solo's were so good and after Kirstie's solo those vocals killed my heart and then Kevin out of nowhere slaying my life and then the "HUMAN" sign. This video was beyond perfection I can't.
Dot From The UK Thank you, I am a white straight female widow and 73, and that is the most beautiful rendition of John Lennon's song I have ever heard. The message was heard loud and clear and brought a tear to my eyes. You are all so beautiful and your harmonies are faultless. Found you by accident on RUclips, so glad I did and I want to hear more of your fabulous voices. Peace, love and happiness always and stay safe, all my love Dot xxx.
The message is strong. We all are the same and equal. Despite the gender, nationality, race, skin color, religion, beliefs, social status, We all are HUMAN. Let's try to live in peace, unity, and treat each other respectfully.
This song is the essence and consequence of any philosophy. If you take all the arguments in the world, put them in a blender, these words, written by John Lennon 50 years ago would be whats left of it all. There is no question on validity. Lennon hit the nail. And Pentatonix made the best interpretation of the original one by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Incredibly good. I dont know what Pentatonix is up to these days, but I have been following your progress from the beginning and despite all odds and bumps on your road you made an everlasting name of yourself. I bow my head to this achievement.
Yeah I've been watching them since they were on the the acapella show. I always knew he was good with a cello and could sing, but I have not heard him hit that high before.
Can we appreciate the notes that Kevin hit. Or is it just me? Edit: I only just came back to this comment recently, I didn't expect 900+ likes. Now it's 1500! Thanks people
3:27 Favorite part of this cover. 1. HIT THAT HIGH NOTE KEVIN, YESSS 2. Kirstie sounding so god damn beautiful, what?? 3. Scott riff-KILLING it 4. Mitch just slaying the scene as usual? Queen?? 5. Avi you beautiful man, HITTING THE LOW AND HIGH NOTES. YOU GO AVI, YOU GO okay I'm sorry I just love that bit so much for so many reasons. It gives me goosebumps, I caN'T
They are by far the Most GIFTED/ TALENTEDgroup of Singers I have ever heard, in over 40 years I have Never heard more talent in the same group😮and could never tire of listening 🎶 to their Phenomenal voices, the harmony is incredibly powerful and intensely satisfying to experience ❤️ my favorite all time song they sing is " Mary Did You Know" it's just absolutely Breathtaking 😮Thank you all so Much!!🎉❤
I just love the entire message behind this. I've always loved this song, but I especially appreciate the approach PTX took here to bring a very succinct visual expression to support the meaning behind the song. It's great that this group, being very diverse, can show just what we can do together when we let go of all the anger and discrimination and just see people and I feel that this song was the perfect way to display that feeling. Of course the audio quality is fantastic, as I've come to expect from PTX. This rendition made my emotions flitter about like only passionate classical pieces do. Thank you PTX for all your wonderful hard work and representation of the good in people. "You make me feel like I am young again." - Adele
I really like how they illustrate how different they all are from each other on the whiteboards, but are singing and working together to create this video, showing that they can and do accept each other, setting an example for others.
And for the people voicing hate for the placards, I think John Lennon would absolutely applaud this performance! One world, one people, equal for all. Understanding for all. It's kinda the whole point of the song.
I've watched you guys grow and your harmonies have gotten tighter and stronger over the years it's absolutely incredible. Thank you guys for always spreading love. You are all so inspiring. Thank you so much❤
The best ever cover of John Lennon's song with a powerful, unmistakably clear message, No matter who you are, where you are from, what you believe - we are all the same - Humans. Stop the hate, stop the division - come together as brothers and sisters in peace and love.
As a devoted Beatles fan and John Lennon fan, I feel on my heart that he would be very pleased with your rendition of his timeless peace anthem. I am very moved by the way your group decided to use your own special gifts to revitalize his simple plea to humanity. Thank you all!
This was beautifully said. I wholeheartedly agree. This rendition really stays true to the original, yet showcases what makes them so unique. Thank you for loving this cover, just as you do Lennon's masterpiece.
Hi I'm Scott Danforth I really love this music now that I'm reading my book I get so much meaning out of it thank you I used to think there was no heaven but now I do
Ive heard this song many times on my life but not once have I actually understood the meaning of this song until now. Its beauty, its meaning behind the words, it absolutely brought me to tears. Growing in a world where we are constantly being judge by each other when at the end we are just all human.
I got tears in my eyes. No matter how many times I listen to this, there's always goosebumps all over my body especially during the bridge(?) part where all of you harmonising so beautifully ❤ I will always love and appreciate pentatonix for making such masterpieces
Everyone is freaking out. This song is about trying to see people as who they are not their sexuality, gender, race or religion. Its looking past that and understanding them. Its about not hating someone for those things. Its about not caring about their religion and realising it doesnt change your life in any way. Most wars if not all have started because of a religious debate, this is talking about stopping those wars and trying to accept each others differences and continue living.
If you read its showing my point. That the people in these comments arent seeing the picture they are trying to paint. Everyone is still stuck up on the lables.
All these years, all these Christmases hearing Pentatonix, and it took me THIS long to finally watch their videos. This one is my favorite, and maybe it's because of all the loss I've experienced, but it made me straight up cry. Coming out as a lesbian in 6th grade, experiencing all the sexism, misogyny, and just plain neglect. Having my virginity taken by a man, forever changed after holding onto my virginity for 30 years, never getting it back. It all comes rushing into my memories as I watch this. Thank you, Pentatonix. Thank you for this, for raising awareness to promote equality.
Hahaha heaven. Sometimes I wish I believed in those things. Sometimes it seems like it makes people so happy, knowing there not going to be gone for good. But then again what happiness will that bring you if sometimes you just want to die.
No alcohol, no seductive womans, mo money involved, no expensive cars, just pure talent with a powerful message. That right there is what we call TALENT
To everyone saying this is political: This is a song about world peace written by John Lennon. The signs they held represent them. It is them. Pentatonix is gay, straight, human, man, woman, black, Latina, and American. There is no one saying "TRUMP SUCKS" but, expressing themselves. Relax and enjoy this beautiful song and this powerful message and chill.
The signs represent them, and when they pass them it represents the things that the two have in common. The message is political apolitical, about getting along peacefully for what we share rather than hating for what we don't.
This video is so important just by the way you all have a wonderful diversity and you share it with the world along your love and passion, as incredibly talented humans who match and team up perfectly. And also showing it through the most beautiful song ever done. Thank you so much for this whole thing and for you all as PTX, you make me proud of being human and it warms my hearts so badly. Bless everyone reading this comment, you are also a beautiful important human and I love you for that, not even knowing you. Greetings from Madrid, Spain.
Crying real tears here. Thanks for this beautiful rendition of a song that is unfortunately so prevalent in society today. I bet when John Lennon wrote this song in 1971 he hoped by our time that we'd be more accepting, not worse off.
Anthrax62 I guess it's a matter of perspective. I feel like the more things are accepted, the more they aren't. Basically, it means that when things get better for others, opposition will be stronger. People are fighting hard for what they believe in, good and bad.
If you keep seeing the world as negative then that will be your experience. There is a lot of beautiful, inspiring things going on in the present world, you just need the eyes to see it.
Such amazing harmonies. KO hitting the high notes! Loved it. When all five members crush a note, it's so amazing. I've loved this group from their very 1st song. And almost always, they take another artist's song and make it better, as their own creation. I enjoyed the signs, too. This was a very good and powerful video. But, I can't say I'm surprised. When does Volume IV come out?
Thank you. Everything they do is so good. I can't wait to hear it on the car radio, driving all around. All of life's mundane chores ... become instantly more bearable ... when Pentatonix is blaring on your sound system.
This one beautiful song acapella ever... love peace, love humanity... From me : -man -moslem -indonesia -yellow -peace Applaus for you all PENTATONIX, humanity... "UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL"
This should be the “anthem” of 2020... I went looking for this again, for no particular reason, and got slapped upside the head of how absolutely perfect this is in this particular moment in time. Always amazing, Pentatonix...
wait, what? You do realize that this song is a promotion for communism, right? Lennon was a proponent of communism, and actually made comments about how Stalin was doing things right. After murdering millions of Russians. And you think this is an appropriate song for 2020?
@@Lateralas well the lyrics of the song have nothing to do with communism, its literally just saying how great the world would be if we lived all in peace without judging anyone by their differences
Chrystal Brower I'm like 90% sure that's not his handwriting, they're all in the same font and blank when they're on the table at the end despite being double sided
This by far one of my all time favourite covers. You all did an amazing job on this. I must have watched this 100+ reactions and crazy how many people cry, they not alone!!! ❤❤
This performance brought me to tears! It truly touched my soul, as many of your performances do. Thank you so much for sharing and doing what you do. Pure goosebumps!
I had no idea Kevin could hit notes like that! Beatboxing, cello, songwriting, singing… he's the epitome of musical talent
Elia Hope Kevin is just about as close to perfect as you can get!
Elia Hope AND HE WENT TO YALE!!!
Elia Hope And he plays the saxophone
Doesn't he also speak Chinese?
So glad Kevin decided to derail his medical career. This is where he belongs.

susan severson Aww...this comment tore me up just thinking of it.
beautifully said
Bless you Susan. Much love.
Youre a legend grandma! See you in heaven

This video is magnificent. Thank you Pentatonix for being the kind and accepting people that you are.
Left handers and right handers
Sick with healthy. So much diversity so much love.
There aren't any muslims or hindis. What, they couldn't be bothered to include 30% of the human race!?
Novem Ber There is nothing wrong with LGBTQ+ people. They are people just like everyone else, and It's not hurting anybody to be LGBTQ+. Let people be happy
Danny T truer words have never been spoken until now. Preach man :)
I am 68 years old, in tears from my soul having been touched so deep. Thank you & God bless you all! 🙏🌟✨💫 Absolute Stars💖

Avi,
You probably will not see this, but I couldn't resist writing. Normally I'm not a singer but I became a bass in my school chorus after an audition. You have been a great inspiration and role model for me throughout the years I've been watching Pentatonix, and will continue to be one in the future. Thank you for the great memories.
Umut Yelbaşı he made me to be bass singer too
Umut Yelbaşı Mitch made me a Tenor.
I miss him sm
He inspires me to sing more
Saaame
I understand everyone is talking about the meaning of the song in the comments but DAMN KEVIN HIT THAT NOTE!
I sense of a Jason Derulo high note. But yeah, Kevin. Dang. :O
Aaron Canchola ya
Aaron Canchola chills and jaw drop.
Aaron Canchola true though!
literally shook
I just realized this was one of Avi's last songs with them, the year that he left. What a killer to go out on, man.
I'm new to Pentatonix, which one is Avi?
@@erinmayo5170 the deep voiced guy with the beard
Why did he leave
- Esma Now he is going his own music, go check it out!
He simply IMAGINEd Pentatonix without himself.
I cry hysterically every time I see & hear this version of John Lennon's "Imagine".
Well Done, Pentatonix, Well Done!
Thank you. :)
Nothing to kill or die for... Please make this the truth for 2025 and beyond. 🫣
AVI AND KEVIN EACH HAVE THE VOICES OF AN ANGEL
Brenna Smith Mitch's solo 😭👌🏼
Brenna Smith Ikr? I loved their parts!
And they barely have their solo parts
I wish they could get more solos. I always see fawning over Scott, Kristin, and more than anyone else, Mitch, and I'm always thinking "did you NOT hear that drop/beat box combo?"
I'm fully aware they coordinate these songs and its not a competition, and I don't see how I was being disrespectful in the slightest.
6x7 Lol
6x7 wtf
Victoria Confusione wtf you doing talking like that, you're eleven years old. Go to sleep you have school in the morning
Sarah Koo Sarah Koo screw you and your "cathartic" moment. Imbeciles fawning over this trite karaoke-esk bullshit.
The fact Scott met the love of his life right after filming this video makes me so emotional
I agree but they cant and dont invoke the original nostalgia of this song. Its to over the top. To much.

Kevin's high notes hit me real hard
Summer Hare did you hear Avi's high note?
I have Avi's deep voice, high note and Mitch's high pitch voice
Kevin I don't know if you will respond or even see this, but I just love how you stand out. You are not afraid to get in the mix of people, you still let people see that you are a christian, I absolutely love that about you. Please never change, you are my roll model. I hope that I will grow strong in my faith and even when i am older, express my Christianity like you.
xAubreyx Im christian as well. :)
he is adorable
Jason Nosaj no it's saying that shouldn't be a determining factor as to if we accept someone or not, hence the line 'and the world will be as one'.
Can I steal your words, s*s? Cause all of this is true.
Please! :D
I love you
Well Said
Someone actually said to me that the reason that they hate PTX is because of how politically correct they appear. They are just a mixture of the minority group and that is why they are so popular. It is safe to say that, the person got a serious tongue lashing from me.

Is it weird that I watched this video like 10 times already
Halfway into the video they're showing how everyone has a difference.
At the end, they show us that we should treat everyone the same because we're all one thing.
Human.

Wow. That brief moment of connection when Avi receives the card from Scott and then when he passes it to Kevin -- the way he looks at each of them and connects soul-to-soul -- so beautiful and moving.
Connie Sedona even thought he said thanks to Scott as he gave him the card. Aaaah
Much love to all who've put up with my rambling. lol
I love that!
Thank you. Please keep sticking up for us! We need more people like you in this world🙏
Thank you for your patience and understanding of the community, yes it's a bit confusing most of the time but to read what you wrote here about how you feel about the community it makes me smile to know that there are folks from the older generations that actually have a good heart.
Мда... Ты дурак!! Ведомый!!! Как вам всем через СМИ промывают мозги))) вот ты олень)))
Love y'all!
briana hill im trying not to cry
it's not technically their message but it fits for everything that's going on right now... imagine - john Lennon is the original
briana hill hi
:)
Just listen to That's Christmas to me
I feel like any of the original writers of the songs PTX songs would be happy to hear it
Woah...this was so powerful, especially at the end when they all flipped over the cards to reveal the one word that defines us all. "Human"
Kai Reese except me. im an attack helicopter
Matthew Lacey I love you
Kai Reese Im an unicorn so...
Shane Burke o
I was actually getting kind of upset that in a song about not segregating ourselves, they started to point out their differences. But then I got goosebumps at the end, when the point was actually that those things don't matter.
I cried wtf, why are their voices so beautiful?
Erika Chan yeah so am I
Erika Chan oof I cried too. Those harmonies got me😭
Erika Chan Helps that John wrote bitching lyrics.
i cried on the part where there are words written..

How hard it is to look at a group of musicians and say: "yes, when they imagine their fans, they will take the time to imagine someone like me."
I am important.
You are important.
We are all so special and deserve to have someone to look up to where we can see ourselves reflected and know that our aspirations aren't out of reach.
So I reiterate, THANK YOU PTX.
You put my thoughts in words :) A group as diverse and inclusive that can "harmonize" so well, is the best message to the world
Perfeito, simplesmente lindo!
We need differences to make our highs, higher and expand our range.
thuany692 you are amazing
Their harmonizing is like a superpower. DAMN
Ikr
So powerful and so beautiful! And so relevant in 2024!
O'neill Winchester OMG did you catch that high note out of Kevin?! He SLAYED my entire existence.
chanellape67 I did and it surprised me the most I was like YASSS SHOW THEM VOCAL SKILLS
O'neill Winchester oh yes, me babe 😂😂

this hits different during these quarantine days
ADashOfMark did you see the celebrities cover this song? It was horrendous 😂
PTX is one of the things getting me through this quarantine, I've pretty much been bingewatching them on youtube
For real lmao. I just imagine there will be a day we can come out of our shelters and truly make a world as described in this song
charles connell actually made a backing track to the celebrity cover and made it kind of tolerable with like 23487 key changes lol
I think it's beautiful🙏♥️
Dot From The UK
Thank you, I am a white straight female widow and 73, and that is the most beautiful rendition of John Lennon's song I have ever heard.
Meiti Magdalena VERY well said and oh so true! ❤
Meiti Magdalena we had debate on this songs meaning in honors English
crucibelle - Belle du Pont I think with the Pentatonix rendition, they put their own meaning into Lennon's song, i.e. the cards.
I agree expect the gender
I never knew Kevin could hit such beautiful high notes. This group never fail to surprise me. Beautiful music
kevin is amazing
that is all I can say
That vocal prowess from 3:25 - 3:52......Just Wow !
3:34 best sound ever
Progression not prowess lol but YESS SAMEEEE
What about 0:01-4:57?
This song is the essence and consequence of any philosophy. If you take all the arguments in the world, put them in a blender, these words, written by John Lennon 50 years ago would be whats left of it all. There is no question on validity. Lennon hit the nail. And Pentatonix made the best interpretation of the original one by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Incredibly good. I dont know what Pentatonix is up to these days, but I have been following your progress from the beginning and despite all odds and bumps on your road you made an everlasting name of yourself. I bow my head to this achievement.
Did Kevin just hit a really high note near the end? 3:38
yes
Yes! Isnt he amazing! His voice has come a long way! Proud of all his work!
DmaaaaaxC If you watch some of the older videos and Vlogs, Kevin has always had an amazing voice. look up PTX Nature Boy. amazeballs.
Yeah I've been watching them since they were on the the acapella show. I always knew he was good with a cello and could sing, but I have not heard him hit that high before.
Can we appreciate the notes that Kevin hit. Or is it just me?

Hi
WolfyGrace 👏👏👏 Exactly my opinion!!
It's still a shock listening to this part...it's like time has stopped and there's only their voice..very powerful moment.
Kevins "High Note" Is Part Of His Falsetto.... I Think XD
Cindy Play's actually Kevin has the highest voice in Pentatonix but he doesn’t get to showcase it much as he’s always beatboxing.
Hearing Avi singing in his upper register has my head exploding! SO GOOD!

3:37 Kevin with that high note!
Woow I thought it was Mitch, thnks for making us aware

You guys (Pentatonix) should totally make an "Evolution of Pentatonix" video. It would be so cool!!
They did, dear,

Let's talk
Thank you for loving this cover, just as you do Lennon's masterpiece.
there have been 2 songs to me that should not be covered unless done right this and Halleluja . PTX has covered both and killed it each time
Hi I'm Scott Danforth I really love this music now that I'm reading my book I get so much meaning out of it thank you I used to think there was no heaven but now I do

Ive heard this song many times on my life but not once have I actually understood the meaning of this song until now. Its beauty, its meaning behind the words, it absolutely brought me to tears. Growing in a world where we are constantly being judge by each other when at the end we are just all human.

It's not just you. If I had to choose only one singer to listen to for the rest of my life, I'd choose Avi.

Ana A. Beautiful and Bless u too..... Much love
Crying real tears here. Thanks for this beautiful rendition of a song that is unfortunately so prevalent in society today. I bet when John Lennon wrote this song in 1971 he hoped by our time that we'd be more accepting, not worse off.
Love Yourself We're definitely not worse off. Any of the topics of this video are now more accepted than in the 70s

Fantastic! Bless you all!❤
Such amazing harmonies.
On Amazon, I'm seeing April 7 as the expected release date for PTX Vol. IV.
Thank you. Everything they do is so good. I can't wait to hear it on the car radio, driving all around. All of life's mundane chores ... become instantly more bearable ... when Pentatonix is blaring on your sound system.

Brendan F. are u really talking about Kevin hitting a high note? What about Avi!!! lol
Nothing this group achieves surprises me, anymore, Abbey. :)
What a great time to do a cover of this song! The whole world needs to see this!
And on that note, I love that Avi and Kev have more singing parts! 😍❤
yes, cos usually Kevin seldom sing, only making bass sounds. I like that he'said been given parts to sing as well.
Kevin isn't the bass, Avi is XD
Why have I never heard of this group before. They are brilliant.
You MUST hear them sing "Hallelujah"!❤

This should be the “anthem” of 2020...
I went looking for this again, for no particular reason, and got slapped upside the head of how absolutely perfect this is in this particular moment in time.
Always amazing, Pentatonix...
@John Smith amen to that

Everyone is here complimenting there voices, and don't get me wrong, they rock, but I'm sitting here obsessed about how nice Mitch's handwriting is.
Chrystal Brower lol saaame!!!

Chrystal Brower I'm like 90% sure that's not his handwriting, they're all in the same font and blank when they're on the table at the end despite being double sided
