I mean, if Bortus and Klyden don't even really live on the planet Moclus...Why not just leave as soon as possible with the rest of the crew of the Orville and not say anything to the people in charge on the planet? If you want to keep your child unaltered that seems like a really easy solution.
Becouse klyden wanted the procedure done, as it was done to him as a baby too. The moclan are so male-centric that they hide the fact that female born is not that rare and if anyone of them being atracted to females (of any species) it's a death penalty crime

Spoiler warning: The baby, Topa, end up deciding she wants to be female anyways. Klyden just like abandons her. Until she gets kidnapped and tortured. Then he sees the error of his views and comes back.
It was a TV show by Seth McFarlane of Family Guy. He also plays the Captain, Ed. He is a science and science fiction fan, and had a few Star Wars episodes of Family Guy, and had consulted with Neil deGrasse Tyson and Carl Sagan's widow about alternate Universe theories used for certain Family Guy episodes and then a Cosmos re-boot. Cosmos was an amazing PBS show in the 70s. Orville is a homage to Star Trek, but with adult humor. It aired at the same time as another more legitimate Star Trwk spin-off that really sucked compared to Orville, which was way more entertaining with their sex drugs and rock n roll jokes but actually socially relevant plot lines that are social and cultural criticisms of our world. It's hard to find because it was on a streaming service and not regular cable but worth Googling and tracking down, especially if you liked the original and/or The Next Generation Star Treks.
What angers me is that the fact that they prefer to trow away a daughter and have a song just to keep their dumb patrialcal ideals it just sickens me even for a show
One of the best trans representation I’ve seen in years, it goes to show that a child should be able to choose who they want to be. In this case, a female. It should be up to no one but them
It's not though. They were biologically female and choose to be female. There was no transitioning. Seems like a halo reach. There are better trans representation like poison from street fighter.
This might be rather Kirk of me... but i wonder what Moclan genetalia entails if gender swapping can be done, undone, and hidden so easily. Speaking of which Klyden leaned WAY too hard into the procedure. Like in a roundabout circumcision kinda way thats really unsettling...
The first step in allowing the State to take your children from you is the moral belief that a child has every right to say what can and cannot happen to them, regardless of the beliefs of the parents. It sounds pretty reasonable, but everyone of you who grew up knows that your growth and maturation has also included pain and discomfort. If you allow a child the ability to decide everything for themselves then they will naturally choose to avoid that pain and discomfort which comes with growth. And a species which fails to grow will become weak and fall. The great filter. Edit....observe how the bootlickers will now run to defend the State.
34 felony’s, this isn’t even close to a comparison. 6 week trial for a man who claimed he’d take the stand (never did), 6 weeks to defend him and result? Guilty of all charges, do you have any idea how hard thar is? How much evidence they had? Justice was done, Donald trump, sexual predator, fraudster, grifter, con man and convicted felon.
Lol……. The former guy committed crimes. The major problem with it is that if we did anything even slightly similar to what Trump is charged for we would have been jailed 2 years ago. Held without bail and have already been charged and sentenced. The rich and powerful have the of tiered system here.
The truth did. Evidence showed trump was wrong. Topa went on later to prove this tribunal wrong. They are not the same thing though. One was for criminal activity. This was about a child well-being
