Corfu - Bluefish Fishing With Light Game LRF Lures

Come fishing Corfu with me!
Ever wondered what the ultimate light game target is around the Greek islands? I think i've found it whilst fishing on holiday in Corfu, Greece.
These fish offer up the most amazing sport, known as bluefish or γοφάρι in Greek they are a toothy predator that like to hit lures off the top.
In this video you will see me catch them on a Lucky Craft Gunfish 95 lure and using a Major Craft Crostage Light Game travel rod, a 1000 size Shimano Stradic reel and both 6lb and 12lb Major Craft Dangan PE.

2am in the morning there it's full of Bass, big and small. I live just on other side STGeorge which can be very good with having Amberjack to 5 1/2kg recently but the bigger fish start showing about now, Bluefish Bass and Leerfish among others

Oh amazing, I'd love that, I can imagine bass arrive here, that deeper water up into the shallows with that artificial light on the edge of the harbour is perfect territory for the baitfish/ predator mix.

Hi Andy i am a carp and match angler but have loads of bass lures, top waters and jelly jigs. I’m off too corfu on 4th September to Sidari. Any tips on locations? Have you been in any tackle shops over there? Do they sell LRF rods and reels? I need some light braid too put on my rods.

Buy the braid before you go if you can.
I only know of two tackle shops by the airport (within a mile) didn't go as north as Sidari, I fished down the South of the island mostly in Petriti, Lefkimmi and another place I noted on my video.
Should be good up north as there seems to be plenty of deep water from what I saw on RUclips, saw quite a few bream in Kassiopi when I went to that harbour in the north.

It was sore, the locals wanted me to go to the hospital but me and a local commercial fisherman, without speaking each others language communicated that we were going to pull it out, i've had it happen a few times before so used to it now.
