I totally agree on price increment. Sold my pristine alpine white m3 e36 about 7 years ago and had biggest regret lol So i couldn't help myself and bought clapped out one for double the price couple weeks ago. Love these cars !!

Don't buy e36 if you don't have a THING for that car. Or is in excelent condition, but not one really is (at least here in Europe).
I never owned more problematic car than e36. Everything is borken, will broke or will be broken when repairing other broken things.
The body is quite weak (strut tower problems front and rear, rear subframe mounts, jacking points) + rusting a LOT.
Interior, seats, bushings, pixel displays, fuel hoses, windows seals, EVERY rubber part/gasket is falling apart/leaking...
Every engine sensor needs to be original, otherwise will run like shit (maf,o2s,crank/cam sensors especialy)
Engines/Trans/Diffs are quite strong units. Even with bigger mileage, but that ofc depends on maintnance car had, and if it was drifted or driven normaly.
I can really go on and on with this, but fact is that i always loved and wanted the car since child so baaad.
Now im step by step getting it not so fucked up... but damn sometimes it can be really frustrating, mostly the first years of ownership.
But the vibe driving it... priceless
Anyway if you like me, and still gonna buy e36 even with all the bullshits it comes with. Be ready to put quite some wrench time and money.
If you want to fix it properly with proper parts, be ready to spend more than u actualy payed for the whole car
Highly not recommend if you dont know, or have ablitty/space/tools to fix the car yourself LOL

100% agree, there’s always something to do with these cars, you always think it’s good then it’s another thing, but you sound like me in that despite it all, it’s worth it regardless 🤝🏼
