Silicone Mask Making: Photo Shoot of FX Fantasy Creatures

In this video we share some backstage footage from the photo shoot of the fantasy creatures created by our students during one of our 10-day silicone mask making workshop at Helsinglight FX in Sweden.
In our 10-day silicone mask making workshop the students learn how to create their own fantasy/FX silicone mask from start to finish.
Every workshop ends with a creative photo shoot of the characters with some of the professional photographers we collaborate with. In this video photographer Per Trane’ took the photos on the final day of the workshop.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
- Design your makeup & character
- Theory about different tools and materials
- Sculpting techniques
- Work with Chavant plasteline, WED-clay, marble stone plaster, EcoFlex silicones, Psycho Paint silicone colors, Iwata airbrush.
- Molding techniques (2-part mold)
- Silicone casting techniques, measuring & mixing
- Patchwork and seaming of silicone mask
- Airbrush and hand-painting of silicone mask
- Finishing mask & concept design
- Professional photo shoot of your character in a creative environment with costume, FX-lenses, props etc.
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE, 9am - 5pm:
Day 1: Creature design and start of sculpting
Day 2: Sculpting
Day 3: Sculpting
Day 4: End of sculpting + mold making
Day 5: Mold making
Day 6: Mold making
Day 7: DAY OFF
Day 8: Mold opening
Day 9: Silicone casting of mask
Day 10: Airbrushing & handpainting of mask
Day 11: Professional photoshoot of your creature
The workshop is 11 days in total, 10-days of mask making and 1 day off!
LIMITED CLASS SIZE
12 people/workshop. Minimum 5 people.
Recommended minimum age 18 years old.
LANGUAGE
The course is held in Swedish and English as the main language, but we can also assist in Finnish if needed.

I've am currently on maternity leave and will be so for a while longer, that's why I'm running behind with answering and uploading new content.
