- This is Zhen (19 years old) first tournament abroad. And he had one of the craziest runs in Street Fighter V history. Beating both EVO and Capcom Cup champions in the LCQ to qualify for Capcom Cup. L

So, after the LCQ, Zhen beat Mono, Momochi, Big Bird, Kawano, AngryBird and iDom.
Finished 2nd place, only lost to the champion MenaRD.
What a legendary run...
MenaRD did very well.
He dealt with Zhen’s pressure and gameplay very well. He deserves it no doubt. EndingWalker needs to up his mental composure. Great player but his mentality failed him.
He also refused to look MenaRD in the face when they shook hands, looked generally disgusted, and immediately wiped his hand on his jacket. He's the only person at Capcom Cup to exhibit this lack of class. I guess losing really wasn't part of his game plan.
@@Asterra2 he’s a 19yo guy, don’t take it personal. He will grow out of it and become a great person. More so, China have severe Covid issues so I suppose that was the reason for his actions.
@@Asterra2 well chinese citizens are kinda well known for being entitled a-holes in countries they visit, like infamously so. their state propaganda teaches them that theyre a chosen elite so they take things like automatic success over their lessers for granted. tho maybe the reason he acted like a jerk on camera was he was thinking about how he didnt live up to that ideal
@@Asterra2 he was just shy, typical introvert nerd dodging eye contact. wiping hands because the sweap after a very tense match. don't need to be dramatic.
I genuinely appreciate this video being made. I love detailed but concise recaps of what I’m missing in the tournaments
Zen and EndingWalker have been a joy to watch all tournament.
hopefully they meet along on winners somehow, even though the other people on winners are there for a reason too
@@PomadaGaming oh boy that might end up being the best match of cc
I disagree personally, bison has got to be one of the most boring characters in the game
I loved watching their matches. Hope they continue to make big moves.
Yo, tonight is gonna be so fucking fire. I don't know who to root for, and there's at least 4 dudes this week that look absolutely unstoppable.
What I love the most about Zhen's play is that he plays offense incredibly well because he understands the Defense in each matchup, the Broski example with his anti-v reversal, or how he caught both Mono and Angry Bird with anti V-shift tech with VT2 explosion. Those interactions come from great understanding on resource management and reads. He spends EX bar like it is a joke, but because he wins the game by manipulating your own V-Bar. That I would say has been his biggest strength as of now, understanding his character doesn't need EX for anything other than generating turns that are eternal, plus making you spend your v meter and then making you pay for it. A parenthesis on for me his most impressive win was against momochi for how efficiently he was able to turn the game after being cornered, just by understanding his options. Absolute monster of a player
Your video editing skills are perfect for non SF players like me !!! Thank you for making it enjoyable to watch these matches and keep up with the competitive fighting scene
So not only did DCQ give us that legendary run in SFL NA. Plus a PTSD inducing teabag on Samurai. He also introduced us to Zhen. What a guy
Yeah, I love how ABC turned GHI, then could execute a reversal into DEF, but in the final they went XYZ.
Love seeing this in any fighting game. An unknown making his tourney debut and just dominating out of nowhere. What a run by Zhen! Hope to see him in 6 as well.
I really like the style you went with for this video with introducing who he is and showcasing the highlights of his journey.
The man got 2nd place. Incredible. Never heard of him and the guy made a incredible run.
The quiet ones are the most dangerous 😊
OMG i'm astonished by zhen's lvl :o Great ,truly great video ,thank you for your work once again HiFight !
Have to admit I was sad to see Kichipa's loss in Grand Finals, but what a run he had particularly with Alex
Documenting the hidden gems of the fgc, literally the best content!
Really cool vid! I liked how you included pivotal moments of matches as well as analyses! Slowing it down and showing what both players did well was also awesome for lending perspective to the games.
man zangief and Bison at a grand finals. such joy
Perfect storytelling here. Great work
Amazing commentary and I LOVE the slow motion to emphasize key moments. I am not a SF player but this was still really fun to watch and insightful.
Definitely subscribing.
Thank you!
Zhen could unseat Nemo for having the greatest LCQ run ever!
I don't even play any of this stuff and still watched it all because the editing and concise recaps made following the action easy - nice work!
at the end he beat Momochi, Idom, Gachikun, Problem X all world champs be evo or capcom Cup, this kid was insane, only MENARD manage to put him down and finally stop Zhen rampage.
This was such an exciting run to watch! And Filipinoman's reactions were the best. Go Zhen!!!
I dint know him, but hes run in the LCQ was impresive, also in hes group in CapCup
But now i cheer for him and EndingWalker to win the Cup!
Zhen had played Alex for half year as main(and sub main) so he knows how to counter PX and Kichipa
Consistently jab punishing Rashid’s ex fireball is just mad crazy
I think you are chinese
zhen ever played kof?
@@tvtvbel I didn’t know about him about few days ago but I am sure he isn’t in KOF XV competitive scenes.
@@abc2390986 Thanks for the answer
ZHEN BABY. Lost not one set since Lcq all the way to winners side of capcup top 16. To remember lcq had players like problem x,shuto, kichipa and whatnot. Yep☠️. Always finds an opening somehow, since he took Lcq man I’m just rooting for him lol. the energy of all those who didn’t make it,plus he’s young, plus he was unknown till now, plus he NICE AS HELL🙌🙌🙌
Amazing match and epic tour, and your reading of key moments of all matches too. Thanks for the vid!
Great summary! Hope you do one for the rest of the tourney too!
Really nice vid, thx ! (And music too)
Very good video
Enjoyed it, nice idea to do a player profile / “road to” video ✌️
Video came out great! That kid was on 1 fr
Alot of "certain people" in NA needs to stop calling people free when you know nothing about them or their playstyle.
This guy sees through frames! it's a joy to see such a talented player play sf!
Amazing match against Gachikun. Gachikun played REALLY well but Zhen managed to take advantage of every minuscule gap and trade.
As a tribute, I'm gonna make a new account in SFV to learn Bison and will name it Fake Fake Problem-X.
If Zhen wins Capcom cup it will be the best sf run .
Close
All these names that I heard a lot in SFV tournaments are beaten; what a legend.
That picture at the start of the video are the new faces of next gen CN SF
Thanks for posting this! I didn't have time to watch the LCQ.
I was the one shouting in chat that HiFight needs an analysis video and he delivered!!
Great video 👍🏾
Zhen: The Legend Begins.
"How far will he go?"
Turns out... Preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeety far! lol
great video! please show more of his crazy VT set ups too!
Love this format. Story time with HiFight.
good analysis play by play!
Superb video, allows lesser players to understand the advanced nuances that would otherwise be missed
great stuff HiFight
post analysis done by the best!!
This reminds me of playing Streetfighter the first time on SNES and losing to Bison over and over again with guile XD
哇哇哇!!! 非常棒! 干得好, 祝你好运。 加油 Zhen! 😎😊
Thanks for doing this
It'd be dope if there were links to the actual sets in the description n, but as always such a dope video 🙏
Zhen was so damn impressive. Guy was straight god killing named players the whole cup!
Its funny how modest Zhen looks and yet he worked his way through his opponents like ticking them off a shopping list.
Follow your favourites but don't underestimate the young blood as there are various talented players such as Zhen out there that may have not had the opportunity previously to get to tournaments. It makes for interesting tournaments in any case (I'm sure the experienced pros don't see it that way but ey).
China has arrived in the SF scene in the hypest possible way, just in time for SF6 and Capcom Cup. You gotta love stories like Zhen's.
amazing vid, ty for this
Nice breakdown!
Mans heard 1mil on the line and went into a different mode
I want ending walker to win but m.lizard has a really good vega play style. Zhen definitely surprised me
great breakdown. 👏👏
This guy is like the secret character who defeated all the players in SF5.
12:21 Kichipa could have CA-ed him as he landed from being hit out of the air. It's one of the most reliable ways to land Zangief's super. Would have been my immediate reaction in this situation.
Same. Probably didn’t pay attention to super bar. It is a last ditch gamble and CA definitely works best in that situation.
Now this brings back memories when i was doibg a tournament with the ewrliest sf2 oh gud times
I have a huge respect for whoever a M.Bison specialist/user.
punishing Rashid was phenomenal match
I am going to be completely honest, because covid I literally only watched EVO, Combo Breaker, Frosty and CEO so I personally don't know any of these "new" players like Kawano, Pugera, DCQ.
This CC is going to be great to watch
Kawno, Pugera and DCQ aren't new to the scene, you're just new to the game of SF5. 😆😂🤣 Kawano and Pugera had been playing SF5 since season 2 and DCQ started during season 3 as the new comer where Oil King and Gamerbee dominated the Taiwan region CPT majority of the time.
@@drakedraven6961 I know they aren't new thats why i used quotes in my first post.
I just never saw them in any TOP 8 from the tournaments I've mention. Maybe Kawano was in one of them but thats it.
@@Hlidskialf They had no sponsors at the time, traveling and events expenses were out of their budget except working full/part time and school simultaneous as their main priorities. They're there since season 2 Japan SFL. I agree that they aren't in top 8 majority of the CPT events, that leads back to what I just mentioned above. They did show up for the final SF5 EVO2022 where Kawano did won the whole event possible due to being sponsored by his team leader Gachikun, also plus the previous online and SFL team placing. If Zhen wasn't sponsored, he would never made it to the CC2022 for the LCQ plus his online CPT top 8 placing, same goes for DCQ.
@@drakedraven6961 yeah, thats why i think this CC is going to be fun to watch. All these guys who didnt travel before showing up in one of the most stacked event for sfv.
@@drakedraven6961 aaaaaand it was awesome!
I hope you enjoyed too.
Lmao I can see my spiky head in the back 😂
Zhen looks humble and zen.
Bonkers just bonkers, what a run
MenaRD took his soul.
Zhen was playing crazy good man
Best thing about this is no Luke, that character is so lame I'm sick of seeing clips of him in tournaments. Capcom really goofed introducing such an op character at the end.
Capcom doesn't give a shit so long as these players play and make them money.
How is Luke OP please? I see people saying this, but no one explains
When the OG Final Boss joined the Tournament.
The Rashid whirlwind reads are insane. That’s not reaction, that’s all prediction.
Great video!
Fun fact: Zhen's Chinese id is 村肉 means village meat
村肉是代号,农村里的小鲜肉 (小鲜肉指未成年的英俊男性)
V bison is so exciting to watch...
We've finally found the host that can contain 100% of the Psycho Power.
He is a very young player, but still he's already famous in China within the SF circle.
Superb editing. I wonder if Zhen has faced Daigo?
To quote a wise young man “let’s fu*king go”
New rising star ! Zhen !
Great reads and reaction
I have dreamed a couple of times for occasions like this to come true. It finally did.
I love When players come out of nowhere and dominate
Gotta root for him in CC. Crazy tournament run. REALLY want to see him vs EW's Ed.
Zhen and VoidWalker definitely needed in SF for more diversity. The next Capcom Cup going to be amazing. SF6 going to be fresh new start for everyone and stake is higher.
The best run i ever seen in my life.
Love this player !
the Zhen Machine 🤖
you know what's sort of crazy ? That the 1 mil prize pool will probably draw out more players from China who will try their luck. Zhen was absolutely an OVNI. Never saw a dictator played this well. Made you feel all those years, pros were not trying hard enough. Even after 6 years of SFV.
Moah, the Bison theme drop *pacha meme*
Zhen defeated 2 former evo champ (problem x, kawano) and 3 former Capcom cup champ (gachikun, momochi, idom) and only lost to a 'honest' Luke player, what a legendary run.
Gonna cry? Just faced a better player and lost lol
ye his run was to fun watch. he came late to the international scene, but you know, better late than never
Kawano vs Zhen will be the best match in top 16!
I know this is too early to say and i probably will get a lot of hate from people who wants Japanese / USA players to win CapCup. But i personally want Ending Walker vs Zhen at grand final. It’s always great to watch new young blood especially not from Japan / USA who surprised a lot of people.
china is gonna surprise many in sf6. their hidden players might come out of the kof woodworks and take street fighter seriously next year😱
heard something like this. yeah no it makes sense though
Right with you! Even though m lizard was really fun to watch
Sad my boy Ending didn't reach grand final. But Zhen did reach grand final. Congrats for MenaRD tho, he played really well.
@@thepuppetmaster9284 definitely. Even tho I wanted ending or zhen to win I cannot deny appreciating how great mena played. Crazy CA whiff punishes
Very impressive
UYU defo gonna recruit zhen lol
gr8 player
Or BLG joins sfl with VXBao, DCQ and Zhen just add one UYU member maybe NL. If they can have an unfair team like NASR x Bandits why not this.
@@bernardjameswilson i see no problem lol, is there a limit to how many teams the league can have or would they have to qualify?
@@cellP8 there might be. Both US and EU sfl have 6. Only Japan has more at 8.
It's time for you to add some voice work to these videos highfight.
His anti air is insane
