I was diagnosed 5 years ago, age 45, had surgery to removed my small intestine, without any issues. It was stage 3 cancer, so I had to also go through chemotherapy, that’s the worst experience. Get your test done regularly and stay positive.
@@raknoknak During my annual body check, I told my gp I’d felt tired and uneasy, without pain though. The blood test results come back with very low anemia. He sent me to the get a colonoscopy done immediately. They found polyps and were removed and diagnosed to be cancerous.
100 + colon polyps would signal a genetic condition known as FAP or AFAP. They can do genetic testing to determine this. Doctors found around 30+ in my colon at 46. Non of them cancerous, but I have screening every 18 months to keep them in check. Needless to say, it scared the crap out of me, excuse the pun.
Did you have FAP or AFAP? My sister has over a hundred. She had a colonoscopy just 3 years prior with nothing found. She did the genetic testing and nothing was found with that. She'll be having an extended right hemicolectomy in the next few weeks.
I had FAP, over 200 polyps, passed stomach lining and ended with an ileostomy when I was 12. They reconnected me with a j pouch, few years later had to get another ileostomy when I was 21, they took it down again when I was 24.

Years ago, colon polyps, cancer, Crohn’s, colitis was not common like today. I think it’s in the foods that we are eating and sugary drinks. Most of what we eat , including bad oils, which is in everything cause inflammation in the body
I've had stomach issues for the past 20 years. I've spoken to various PCPs about it over the years, only to be told that it's nothing (with no tests run) and they won't be willing to refer me to a specialist until I start passing blood or have diarrhea for two weeks straight. I finally got PPO insurance and met with a gastroenterologist; no referral needed. I have my first colonoscopy scheduled for later this spring...fingers crossed that everything goes well.

30 years old here and will be 31 in two weeks, Same ,just had a colonoscopy on Monday and only symptom was rectal bleeding for about 6 months and I had put it off and off and blamed it on eating once a day and straining when bowel movements. 1 growth / polyp was found. I had blood in my stool from time to time with other digestive issues that I managed with diet. When I turned 45 I had a colonoscopy and the doc found 90+ polyps. He referred me to another hospital and they did another colonoscopy. During the colonoscopy the doctor removed 60 polyps (starting from the biggest). Last year he removed 30 or so. This week I received the results of the genetic exam and it's clear that my condition is genetic. So far I have my colon and hope to keep it as long as possible as the polyps are non cancerous. I know I have new ones growing, but I am under surveillance by a good team of doctors. Also there is green clay(food grade) that I will start to use to see if it really helps with the digestive system. Here (France) many people say their colon and digestive systems were cured using this clay (even polyposis). As either way if my colon removed or not, I have to have a colonoscopy yearly, I can't loose anything by trying natural ways too..
I did my first colonoscopy couple weeks ago. It went great and I didn't need sedation. I didn't feel any pain, a little discomfort, but nothing too much that it needs sedation.
I been having this issue for over 7 years everything I eat gives me diarrhea and upsets my stomach been to the doctor a few times for it and always get told to change my diet … I only drink coffee, water , Beer and eat really healthy.. This stuff really scares me at times
Growing up I've always had weird bowel movements but I never thought much of it. Over the past 2 years I've had rectal bleeding accompanied with lots of pain. It took my doctor a year to finally give me a referral to the GI doctor in which they found yesterday over 50 polyps the largest ones being 35mm/2cm. Since Colin and issues running my family they will be testing for genetics such as Lynch syndrome. And of course a biopsy.

How did they remove his colon and directly connect his rectum with the small intestine? Did they put an artificial colon in place? Typically, patients get a stoma bag.

Water absorption happens in the colon. With it gone would he suffer or struggle with dehydration? Plus watery stool all the time.
